  1. We have had many problems with the laundry shrinking items over the years & have given up on using it .

I've all but given up on their laundry service. To many articles of mine have been damaged over the years to trust them any longer.

I do my own smalls, and on occasion sent some shirts etc, which all have been perfect upon return.

sad to hear about your issues, what reaction did you get when you brought it to their attention ?

    was it sorted ?

  2. its totally different experience to what you are familiar with on US cruise lines.

Think day cruises to the Bahamas from Miami, and make it seven days.

Its nice, its very charming, very quaint, and its very reasonable.

Some would describe it as being cheap.

Having being on the old Emerald, many times, many years ago, I think its a great holiday for what you pay. So go on and enjoy it.

  3. that is incorrect- Friends of Dorothy is a LGBT meeting. Not AA.

    Robinhill.

I never said Friends of Dorothy was AA.

my post was "There are several "Coded" meeting references in the compass".

You are forgiven for reading my post incorrectly. :D

  4. bathrobes can be boiled washed and re used The slippers could not be boiled so you can take then home with you and treasure them..

It does sound so old fashioned, "Boiling clothes", but I am sure there is a modern term for it nowadays.

  5. It was commonplace on Britannia at Christmas - what I objected to there was the people who left plates/glasses/bowls of unfinished food and drink in lifts and randomly on stairs, in public areas the lobby area outside the lifts etc.

Do you think it was the style or type of passengers on the Britannia at time of year and, Maybe lots of families/ children as a reason why this happened.

Its not the usual type of behavior of passengers on the Britannia surely ?

  6. Shorts and a polo shirt will get you in, no issues. Don't wear flip-flops.

flip flops on formal nights are a reflection on the individual wearing them.

A post earlier in the thread, from Lanzalady, mentioned that all she wanted on formal night was to look clean and presentable.

As i explained, it is suggested to shower twice a day in warm climate, as there often are B.O. issues if not

She more than likely does not realize it herself that you might look clean and presentable, but may have body parts smelling.

Nothing as bad as being seated with someone with body smells.

  7. As long as I'm clean and well-presented, what does it have to do with other people? I cruise because I like being on the sea and visiting other places. If other people's idea of cruising is to spend all their time dressing up and commenting on how their fellow passengers are attired, then that's up to them.

Its always nice to enjoy a cruise.

Lanzlady is happy just to be clean and be well presented which is always nice.

In warm climates, its advisable to have a shower at least twice a day, especially when returning to the ship after a long tour. I find I am tired after a long tour. Nothing like a long refreshing shower to fell clean again.

I see where you are coming from Lanzlady.

But I also like dressing up. its nice to dress up and feel good.

  8. there are very few dirty ships, but many dirty passengers. .

the amount of times I have seen people (male) not wash their hands are using the loo.

I read a post on this site a while ago, that it happens a lot with the Women's bathrooms also.
