  1. It’s been a couple of years since I went through the shore excursion selection process on Regent and I remember the late night frustrations trying to get shore excursions booked using different devices, Apple MAC, Dell PC and Apple iPad and gave up after trying all of these devices for over 1+ hours. I finally had to call Regent the next morning to get my excursions booked and wound up being on a wait list for several primary choices. It was well documented at the time that the Regent website had severe problems with booking excursions. Well, it is less than a week before I can select my shore excursions for our next cruise. This time, all I have is my iPad to do the selections. Has Regent fixed/improved their website to accommodate the selection process? Has anyone successfully used an iPad to make their selections? If I wind up having to call a Regent person, what time are they available and is their a long wait time to talk to someone? I’ve read on these boards that getting a real person on the phone can take a long time. And lastly, where do I go on my account to start the selection process? I have already made my first and second selections on paper for each port.
  2. I was aware that Dun Loaghaire Was the port for Dublin cruise ships but it isn’t on our itinerary either. Sounds like Rcandkc has the real reason why Dublin isn’t on our itinerary. We will miss that stop but oh well, lots of other things to see. While researching cruise lines for this trip, I did notice that other cruise lines still include Dublin (Dun Loaghaire). Regent’s website for the cruise we chose did show Dublin as a stop on the itinerary map but the list showing each port and their excursions did not. I did confirm with Regent that Dublin was not a stop on our cruise. So be it. We will still have fun and enjoy the other experiences.
  3. It is disappointment that Dublin isn’t included on this itinerary. I would have thought that Dublin would be a staple on any British Isle cruises. Is there something happening that would make Regent take this off their itinerary?
  4. For this Regent tour, is there a guide for inside the castle or are castle provided headsets with recorded information the “guide”? Is this a tour where it makes a big difference to purchase a small group tour? It looks like you spend about 1 hour in the castle and the remainder is in the large or small tour vehicle. How far is the New Haven tender port from the Edinburg old town? Thank you.
  5. I am having a hard time deciding on one Regent tour for Invergordon. For those of you who have visited this port with a Regent tour which 1 or 2 tours stood out the most to you?
  6. We are going on the September 2023 British Isle cruise are I have a couple of general questions about Regent shore excursions. (1) If you take a Reagent shore excursion, for example to Edinburgh in the morning for 4 hours, can you remain in Edinburgh after the tour is done and wander around the shops and sites? If so, is there a shuttle Regent bus that goes between the tender and Edinburgh (or any other port) to the central part of a city/town on a routinely scheduled basis? (2) How does the guide communicate with the group, especially the larger groups? Do they provide headphones, communicate via personal devices, etc.? (3) What are the advantages of small group tours beyond the obvious that there are fewer people? (4) For the British Isles, are there any ports where a private tour (for us 3 couples) makes a lot more sense than a Regent tour? Splitting the cost of a private guide 3 ways starts to make private tours more competitive, price wise. (5) for tender ports, who gets priority tendering? Based on cabin class, Regent tour vs private tour, etc. (6) and lastly, what are a couple of your top do not miss sites in any of the following ports: Edinburg, Invergordon, Kirkwall, Ullapool, Killybegs, Belfast, Glasgow, Liverpool, Waterford, and St Peter Port. Thank you.
  7. I am seeing and hearing conflicting information on where the laundrette is located on deck 7 of Splendor, including the deck information posted on Regent. My TA and her Regent contact are telling me differently that what I see on the Regent website. For anyone who has actually seen where the laundrette is located on deck 7, can you tell me if it’s on the starboard or port side? I may be fussing over nothing but now I am curious. Thank you.
  8. That link doesn’t show up on my itinerary screen. How far in advance does Regent provide this link with updated information? I can select tours 365 days in advance and I am cruising in early September. I may just be too early.
  9. I’m getting ready to book a concierge suite on the 9/2023 British Isle cruise from Copenhagen to Southampton on Splendor. The cabin selections are pretty limited. I have 3 questions: (1) for this cruise is there any advantage to having a starboard or port cabin? (2) should I stay away from cabins near the laundrette? I am curious to whether the noise or traffic should be a concern. (3) Would it be worth the extra $1200 to move up to a concierge D cabin to get a better ship location? I did look at the cabin review spreadsheet on this discussion board but there is very little info on the Splendor cabins. Thank you.
  10. I did notice that Dublin is not a port on the Splendor itinerary.
  11. Thank you. Both have only 1 sea day at the beginning of the cruise as this is a port intensive itinerary.
  12. Looking at 2 cruises in 2023 to the British Isles. One sails on 8/26 (Voyager) for 12 nights and the other sails on 9/12 (Splendor) for 12 nights. The itineraries are equally inviting and both work well in our schedule. Assuming that the itineraries are equal, I am asking if there is a significant difference in the 2 ships (I know that Splendor is newer) and whether the August or September sail date choices provide any significant advantage in making our final decision. Thank you in advance for your responses.
