  1. We booked onboard Equinox in June. Only perk was drink package and $150 OBC. We have since transferred our booking to another company and now have drinks, tips, and $425 OBC.

Very dissapointed with the Celebrity offers.

Sounds like transferring you got a pretty good deal. We were also disappointed in the offer but with our jobs it's the only cruise that would work for us. Last year i transferred our Europe cruise to a local agent and got nothing and this time my Son and his wife also booked the cruise from Rome so i need to look into a larger agent that can help us get more i just have never found the right one i guess, we do love the drink package and last year we got tips also and it was perfect now i feel a bit let down from Celebrity with one perk.

  2. Thanks for the review, what were the perks this time around for future cruises being booked on board

    Thanks in advance

We booked a cruise for July 20th leaving Rome a balcony cabin 1 perk and $ 200.00 OBC total for my wife and I . Last year we got 2 perks and $ 100.00 OBC total on the Connie out of Barcelona.

  3. Thanks for your comments - we'll be on Equinox in three weeks. I usually avoid summer in the Caribbean like the plague, but this year it was what worked for us. I have to stay out of the sun so the pool isn't a problem for us and we have a balcony - I think we can avoid the kids during the day. We've been to all of the ports many times and they are great for us because all we want to do is find a shady spot on the beach to relax and have a few drinks.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the MDR.

The solarium was always nice and we could always get a chair and the pool there was fine,

  4. Thank you for posting a review. Glad to hear you liked the MDR. Did you try any of the specialty restaurants? Take the galley or whole ship tour? Did the pool get quieter late afternoon?

We only did the MDR and the food was very good just one night we did not think the selection was great but over all very good.

we did to the galley tour and found it very interesting.

On Sea Days the pool just got worse as the day went on, the water went from nice looking to cloudy and stay a way!! we did come back to the ship early on our Costa Maya day and went in the pool and it was great.

  5. Just a few things from our cruise on the Equinox 7/16 to 7/23

First time on the ship and loved the Equinox, The MDR was good loved all our waiters and the service was top notch.

It's the only time of the year our jobs allow us to get away so there were kids, kids and more kids but that's what we get this time of year. Last year we were on the Connie in Europe and far less kids.

Sea Days not a chance of getting in the main pool and by noon with that many kids you don't want to get in anyway but we always found a chair a deck above the pool. We did go into the adult pool but it being indoors we laid in the sun.

It's a bit disappointing you have to pay at the Mass Grill but there plenty of other places to eat so not a deal breaker for us.

Loved Key West, Did not care for Costa Maya at all we had a very disappointing Celebrity Excursion that we did complain about and i think they should have comped it but got no where but that's the way it goes. Had the best day in Cozumel we did the Amazing Race, 15 teams we came in 6th and it was fun but very hot! and Grand Cayman was nice.

We booked a cruise for next year on the Reflection to Italy and Greece, I was hopping for a better deal and more perks but it was still worth booking. I am still looking at a NCL cruise but i really would like to stay with Celebrity.

  6. Starting to look at cruises for next year, would love to do a cruise out of Venice around the Adriatic coastline, in particular want to visit Dubrovnik & Kotor. I notice that Connie does these cruises & want to get a view of what people think of them!

    Thank you [emoji4]

We were on the Connie this time last year, one of the stops was Kotor and we loved it. We did a Blue Cave Kayak trip from Viator and it was one of the high lights of the trip. another port we loved was Zadar.

  7. My wife and I did a Barcelona to Venice last July with a couple days in Frankfurt on the front end and a couple days stay over in Venice at the end. Yes it was warm to hot but really not a problem for us we like hot weather and we just planned for it and we went on a excursion at every port and the only one that was to hot for us was our day in Rome but still loved it and the next day we were on the Island of Capri with nice breezes and loved it so I know it's not for everyone but we met a lot of people on the ship and not one said they did not enjoy the cruise. We are going back next July 20th on the Reflection to Italy and Greece. .

  8. My grown kids and there spouses and my wife and I are all going on a Bahamas cruise in July, when it's done everyone needs to get back to work right a way on the West Coast except me so i'm thinking of going on the four day cruise to Cuba just to see it meet the people and try Cubien food. The bad part is paying double so just when I think i have covered it all when I call she says by the way you need a Visa and that will be another $70. I have never been on NCL before but can't they just say that on the cruise information. She says you can get the Visa on your own but she has no idea how to do it, Not the best first impression I got with NCL so far.

  9. I'm thinking about going on a 4 day Cuba cruise July 24th. My wife and I are meeting up with are grown kids and taking a Celebrity Cruise that ends on the 23rd, everyone needs to get back to the Northwest right a way except me so leaving the next day to Cuba looks very interesting just to see Cuba. I know it's poor and suppressed but I love the idea of seeing the cars, buildings and people and the food.. I'm not even thinking of it as a vacation just a real one time learning experience. Problem is i have to go alone and pay double for my cabin so if anyone has done it please give me your opinion. Also I have been on a number of cruises but never Norwegian.

  10. What spoiled my holiday was my grievance about the speed and reliability of the ridiculously expensive wi-fi service on offer. I expressed my concern to the CR staff within 24 hours. No apology but asked to fill in a feedback form. No one contacted us during the remaining 10 days of the cruise to discuss the matter with us. We e-mailed Customer Services and got an automatic response saying that they would respond with 28 days. No one has yet responded. Our grievance is that we felt the "Xcelerate High-Speed Internet" was a seriously misleading description for what turned out to be a very slow wi-fi service. We felt the product was mis-sold to us and are extremely annoyed that no one has contacted us so far to address our concerns. The wi-fi issue, along with the shore excursion costs, made us feel that Celebrity Cruises and more concerned with taking your money rather than responding swiftly the customer concerns. We will not be travelling Celebrity again and will certainly tell all our friends who we discuss our holiday with, about our very expensive mistake in signing up for the very sub-standard wi-fi service.

I must say everyone has different expectations for a great cruise, last summer on our Europe cruise as we sat down to dinner each night with all the new people we met from around the world and talked about the fun things we saw and did each day I can say for sure that no one ever complained the day was ruined because the WI Fi was slow. But if that's the most important thing to you to make it a great cruise for you I have to say cruising is not for you and just find a resort that has great WI FI.

  11. We will be doing a Caribbean cruise in April, and I've been researching what cruise we may want to book while onboard.

We have done one Med cruise before but it didn't include Venice which is high on or bucket list.

It seems cruises either begin or end in Venice....is there an advantage to one over the other?

Based on dates, the Barcelona - Venice cruise in Sep 2018 looks like it would work well for us. However wondering if we are missing out by not experiencing a sailaway from Venice. How high would you rate this in choosing an itinerary?

Definitely a first world problem, but would appreciate any advice on this :)

    Thanks

We ended our cruise last August in Venice, the sad part was latter that afternoon sitting next to the Grand Canal watching Connie sale by headed to Greece without us!! We did start our cruise in Barcelona and really loved Barcelona and the sail away.

  12. We were on the Connie last August, Barcelona to Venice with 2 days on both ends, best cruise ever. You will love it, Barcelona was great and Venice is incredible! it is a very expensive but loved it and the ship is perfect, not to big and not to small and has everything you want and need in a cruise ship.

  13. I find some of the reply's so interesting, if you don't do it their way you are wrong. On our cruise to Europe in August i did do a lot of research and for us i decided it was worth the money on all day tours to book with Celebrity just to make sure we got back in time and half days i booked with Viator. We never felt like a cattle call with Celebrity and they were first class and yes more money. Our 4 tours with Viator were good with just one exception and even it was ok and they were less expensive but to tell people never book with Celebrity i think that is a choice everyone has to see for themselves. What worked for us may not work for you but take what everyone says and decide for yourself.

  14. I'm trying to be loyal to Celebrity but i think we are going to really look at the other options out there now. I had been waiting for the 2018 Europe cruises to come out and was excited to find just what we wanted for four of us on the Reflection in July 2018 to Italy and Greece. Then i check back and it is gone, so I call no one can tell me a thing. I know it's a long way off but i just can't be loyal and promote their product when they pull this stuff. I know their web site sucks but i just get the feeling they don't give a darn about people planning trips.

  15. We did Capri on our cruise in August, we did the trip from Celebrity but we we on our own all day in Capri. We went on a slower boat and we saw the Hydro go past us and wished we were on it. Capri was really nice with incredible views great shopping (very expensive)but a lot of cool things. We had friends on the ship that went to Pompeii and loved it. Wish there was time to do it all but that's why we are going back.

  16. Do to our jobs we can only go in July and August so I know we will pay more but i'm Ok with that if I can get some perks. We and classic bev package and tips package. It was so nice to never worry about how many drinks i ordered. We booked our August cruise 7 months out and thought we got a good deal so i'm starting early for our 2018 Europe cruise looking for the best deal. We are sailing on the Equinox to the Caribbean this July and may book the 2018 Europe cruise then if I can get a better deal. You can always book and cancel if something better come along.

  17. We did our first Celebrity Europe cruise this past August. Had the best time and can't wait to go again. We did an 8 night started in Barcelona and ended in Venice. We were on the Constellation. Loved the ship,it was just one sea day so it's really about what country's and cities you want to see. I wanted to see as many country's I could in the short time. We are booking a 2018 cruise on on the Reflection now going to Italy, Malta and Greece and it's 10 nights. What ever cruise you choose you will love it, we can't wait to go again!!
