  1. I can tell you about Ravenna, we stopped their on our cruise in August. It was our last port before ending in Venice, i did not see an excursion we wanted so we just took the shuttle from the ship into town for 5 euro and about a 15 to 20 min ride. The downtown area is very easy to walk and lots of really nice restaurants. We thought it was the best shopping of all the ports we stopped at, we felt the prices were fair and reasonable and very friendly people. We loved the city and would go back if we had the chance.

  2. I have been watching everyday for the 2118 cruises to be listed so when I saw them i am a bit disappointed at the rates and no perks so far. I was ready to book now because we had such a great time on our Europe cruise this past August but we need at least two perks to do it. Last time we had a fare rate and a beverage package and tips package. It does not take a lot to please me but I need something to make me feel i'm getting a good deal.

  3. I just saw the 2018 Europe cruises are listed and i was looking at a July 20 on the Reflection in a Veranda cabin and it said they have run out of that class, is that true? Last year we went to Europe on the Constellation and booked 6 months out with no problem. I was just trying to be pro active and book early so should i start looking at other cruise lines.

  4. We were on the Constellation in July, our first cruise in Europe. We started in Barcelona then to Cannes then Rome, next Salerno with a day trip to Capri, a day at sea then to Kotor then Zadar then Revenna and ended in Venice. Best vacation ever and we are just waiting for the 2018 cruises to come out so be can book a Italy and Greece cruise. We did do two days in Barcelona at the start and two days in Venice and the end. Loved everyday of it.

  5. We ended our cruise Venice in August, it was our first time there and really did like it but everything is expensive but i did a lot of research before hand so we ready the the sticker shock. We stayed two extra nights after our cruise then flew out of Venice to JFK, Getting to the airport was not only easy but a really fun boat ride. So much nicer than sitting in traffic in a car. The key is pre planning your transportation needs. It is odd to spend two and a half days in a big city and not see a car.

  6. I would rent a car and drive for sure. If you come back Monday morning be careful traffic into Seattle on a weekday morning is terrible so allow at least an extra hour and arrange to drop the rental car off in Seattle, if you have to drop it off back at the airport that will cost you another hour. If you can fly in Friday night and stay at a airport hotel you can get an early start and be in Vancouver by 10 or 11 in the morning.

  7. My wife and i booked a cruise to Europe last February with Celebrity, we had never been to Europe and found booking the air and land things we were doing before and after decided to turn it over to a TA. We have never used one before so i read a lot about using a TA and was thinking in the end we may get some OBC or at the least a bottle of wine. The whole trip was about $12.000 and in the end all we got was a card thanking us for using them so i think i'm going back to doing it myself. We already have two more cruises lined up so i think it's there loss in the end.

  8. Understand this is just my opinion, We have been to Hawaii ten times but never did the road to Hana so our last trip we decided to do it. Now our joke is we can never get that nine hours of our life back! We felt it is so over rated and nothing special with so many other fun things to see and do on Maui.

Even the seven pools, what a let down we have better falls and pools in our state so do your research and make sure it's right for you it's a really long day in a van with really no payoff in the end except you can say you did it.

  9. I asked almost this same question last week, I'm waiting for the 2018 Europe cruises to come out. I need to get one booked ASAP. My wife and I had such a great cruise last month over there we can't wait to go back so while my wife is still excited I need to get it booked!

Most of the people responding said they should be up by November.

  10. We were just on a Europe cruise last month on Celebrity, we had the classic package. It was one of our perks and it was perfect! never having to worry about my tab. This is coming from a guy that once had a bar bill of $900 on a four day cruise.

We have another cruise booked already for next year on Celebrity because of this perk.

  11. On our cruise to Europe last month I booked 8 excursions, 4 from Celebrity and 4 from Viator. The all day excursions were all from Celebrity because I was freaked out we may miss the boat and all four were really good but we did pay more for sure. The other 4 from Viator, 3 were really good and a way better price but one we did in Montenegro was very unorganized and a mess but I chocked it up to lesson learned so I figure we went 7 for 8 and we had the best cruise ever.

  12. I don't care if you have taken 1 cruise or 30 your opinion may matter to someone and to think you should be prohibited from giving a review after just 1 cruise is wrong and I would not be here if that was the case.

I read a lot of reviews as I was researching our cruise to Europe this past summer and some were helpful and some I just chocked up to a bad experience but I'm glad everyone that takes the time to write about their experience has the chance to give their opinion.

  13. We have been on two Alaska cruises, both on HAL, the first was ok and the second was not that great at all. We just got back from Cruise in Europe on Celebrity and it was great. We will only go Celebrity from now on.

Now regarding your high maintenance husband, leave him home take a friend leave from Seattle and it's cheaper and you will have a great time!

  14. Thanks to everyone for all your in put, I am going to share all of it with my kids this weekend, it's always fun going through a long winter knowing we have a cruise to look forward next summer.

With our kids all grown up it's really hard to take a vacation all together so I am hopping this one works out and no one bails out on us.
