  1. I have searched this forum and watched several different Youtube videos to try to understand the configuration of the sky suites on the Edge. This is what I think I learned, can you please confirm? S1 sky suites on the Edge have the beds facing the window and the mirror/window that opens to let natural light in the baths? The S3 sky suites have the beds facing the side walls and are located near the Magic Carpet and have the option of the connecting inside cabin. I believe the S2 have the same confirguration as the S1's but are on deck 9 or no mid ship on other decks.
  2. This is a quote from the Norwegian website about the Spirit Refurb Revitalized Norwegian Spirit to Serve China Market Seasonally Beginning Summer 2020 Norwegian Cruise Line remains committed to serving the Chinese cruise market and will deploy the 2,000 passenger Norwegian Spirit seasonally to the region beginning in summer 2020. Prior to her arrival, Norwegian Spirit will undergo a previously scheduled bow-to-stern revitalization as the final ship to undergo enhancements under the Norwegian Edge® fleet refurbishment program. In February 2020 her journey from Europe to Asia will feature several exclusive sailings with new calls for Norwegian Cruise Line including South Africa, Mauritius, Seychelles and Maldives.
  3. I was reading that the ship is marketed heavily towards the Asian market. Any idea of what percentage of guests will be English speakers, and any idea how the languages difference are handled when there is a good percentage of non-English speakers on board. I am not zenophobic, but I just want to understand how to the cruise might be different than a cruise a cruise where most guests are English speaking. I heard the food might be differnt too - a combination of Western influenced and Asian.
  4. My cousin is currently stationed in Japan and wants us to join him on the Norwegian Spirit for an 8 Night Asian cruise out of Tokyo in May of next year. My concern is that his only previous experience was on the Bliss out of Alaska and that not only will this cruise not be exactly what we want , but him also. Has anyone been on Spirit since the refurbish in 2017? We it just a soft good refresh. I remember that Norwegian did a huge facelift on Joy before bringing it to North America, swapping out venues that were specifically designed for the Asian market and refitting them with things that were supposed to appeal to North Americans. Any feedback is appreciated.
  5. I am assuming the Celebrity ships dock in Skarfabakki port in Reykjavik???
  6. I am trying to figure out something for my friends who are going to Coco Caye next month. They said that called RC Last night to try to reserve beach chairs and were told that all the cabanas are sold out. I told him that their must have been a miscommunication. Yes the Cabanas are probably already rented - but I explained to him that those are very expensive cabana houses that rent all day long. He said he just wanted to rent a beach chair and maybe an umbrella but understood them to be sold out too. I think he just misunderstood. If it is anything like Labadee, which I have been to many times, I seem to remember that the Beach Chairs and Umbrellas are only available for walk up rental. You just find an attendant, give them your sea pass and rent the chairs and umbrellas. Does that sound right? My friend is really worried he and his family will only be able to sit in the sand.
  7. In the Nowegian Dawn Family suite Cat SC there is the main bedroom, living room, and kids bunk room. Does the sofa in the living room make into a bed so that someone could sleep in the room that opens to the balcony or are the only places to sleep the bunkroom and bedroom?
  8. I know this is an old thread, but I did a google search, and this one came up. j I am pretty sure that the unlimited Wifi for a 7 day cruise is $199, and sometimes sold pre-cruise with 20% discount. Can anyone confirm, because the Celebrity Web Site doesn't specify. I think it makes the most sense to get the $300 OBC for my second perk and then purchase the Wifi with it.
  9. When we tendered in Bay of Islands in April there was enough of a chop that the tender boats could not go very fast or the waves would splash all the way over the top and come in the driver hatch. We are Elite so we went to the Elite priorit waiting are where we waited for over an hour for our chance to board our tender. We loved the area, but heck, there were folks who did not get ashore until after 2:00 and pretty much had to turn around and get right back on the tender.
  10. I know that the Premier Beverage Package includes Liquor up to $12 a serving, but I am wondering what Premium brands are included in that? Makers's Mark? Glenlevit? Kettle One? Asking for a friend. LOL
  11. We were supposed to go to Lerwick on our Iceland and Ireland cruise next year. It was recently replaced with Cork. I have a friend doing that cruise with me and then staying over a week in Ireland and doing the Norway. She wrote me today that Lerwick is now cancelled for the at cruise too. Celebrity wrote us that they are making the change to avoid tendering and provide a better experience. We recently did a cruise with lots of tendering due to smaller ports. Most of the time the wait times for tenders, using the ship's own boats, were really long. Much much longer than in ports like Grand Caymen where the port has its own boats. We were elite in one port and still had to wait over an hour for out tender in Bay of Islands NZ, and folks who had no status were only able to spend and hour or two in port due to the poor tendering circumstances. Moorea and Bora Bora were only slightly better because the distance was shorter and lagoons were very calm. Anyone have to deal with the tender operations this year in Lerwick? Was the dropping of the Lerwick and replacing with Cork justified due to logistics?
  12. But if the agent is a good, service oriented one to whom the phone rings directly and she actually answers her phone like mine it is easier than calling Celebrity direct.
