I have researched this quite a bit as we are in the same situation in September.

The local taxi companies (CBmaui from Kahuli and Lahaina taxi back to the ship) should cost you about $100.00 dollars each way tip included. While renting a car is probably less expensive, you will be driving after dark (at least on the way back to the ship) on roads that you may not be familiar with. Also if you choose to have a cocktail or two, the taxi is a better go. Have fun it is a Great Luau.

Has anyone done the pre cruise night at the Marriott Waikiki ? Also would like to know about the NCL bus to the pier on day of embarkation. Any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated. Mahalo

Has anyone experienced the pre cruise night at the Marriott Waikiki , as well as the bus to the cruise pier for embarkation. We have this booked and have never done it before, trying to get a few tips on the whole procedure.

Is a 1 pm flight from Hnl after the cruise possible without too much risk ?

If someone has a fear of cruising, it would not be good to force it on them.

Maybe the rest of the family could go or find something different to do.

The port garage is very convenient, drop your luggage with the porters, park and get on the ship. when you return, get a porter if you need one, go through customs and walk out to the garage, no waiting for shuttles ect...

for us it was worth the money spent.

Took ship tour on ncl getaway last week and really enjoyed it.

The garage at the port is very convenient . $ 20. per day.

Besides NCL, are there any other cruise lines that have "solo cabins" ?

If so which ships ?
