According to the deck plan that cabin on,y has a foldout couch.  There are several on deck 18 that have the symbols for couch and upper.  The cabin category description says sleeps up to 5.  It does not say/mean all can accommodate 5.  Here is a pic of 18018 with couch out and bunk down (filched from cruisedeckplans):

I had that cabin last year and last month I had 18019.

     Both are GS cabins.

the villas and cabanas are bookable through the shore excursions desk.

there is no linkage with the haven, to my knowledge, except your concierge might be able to book silver cove for you, if space is available.

I don't want a cabana or villa, I want the buffet and champagne bar as we have the big beverage package.

We love staying at Four Points by Sheraton, right next to Ron Jon, two block from the beach, and across the street there is a Publix, CVS, Walgreens and restaurants all around.  We used Cruise Control Transportation to get from the airport to the hotel, and also used them when we got off the ship. The morning of the cruise we used Cocoa Beach Shuttle from the hotel to the port, $10 bucks per person.

I am a local and this is the best overall option due to it's brand and location of amenities.

On a side note, if you like comedy, there is a comedy club just up the road called Gregories upstairs.  There is also an excellent steak house on the ground floor. Best in the area.

MSC has by far the worst customer service, website and app in the cruise industry. They don’t seem to care or want to improve.

When did they get a customer service dept?

As far as the website and app, it's probably the best go-daddy has to offer.😁

Having been to Ocho Rios, for us Falmouth is a new POC (though I get the impression that it’s not any better than OR).  We’ll probably just enjoy the day onboard the ship.  We’re quite used to POCs being missed/replaced.

Was just there a week and a half ago on Seascape.

Actually a very nice contained port. Plenty of shops and a craft market.

    Actually much nice than OR.

Once you leave the gated area it becomes a little less....nice.

Get off for a half hour or so and walk around.

I was wondering if anyone had an idea how early shuttles like Goport pick up and head back to MCO.  We disembark Wonder of the seas on March 3rd, and want to get back To MCO as early as possible to rent a car.  We are trying to head over to Tampa to watch a spring training game.  We have rented at Canaveral before but it was a waiting game with so many people and not enough cars, Thought maybe it would be easier to just go back to the airport to get a car.

    I am a local

As mentioned , many shuttles leaves when full and then make many stops.

Just rent a car near the port. Also grab an Uber or taxi as the rental shuttle can be a disaster.

I was going to be in Florida anyway and have Voyager of the Seas booked for April of 2025.  I was thinking of driving over to the port area to see Voyager when she arrives at Port Canaveral this Nov 26th.    Can I get into the Jetty Park around 3am and hang out near the water if she is coming in then? Alternative places?

    I am a local.

Gate for jetty will be closed at that time, maybe. It's sometimes open all the time.

If you drive up to the gate and it's locked. Turn left an a couple hundred feet ahead is a parking lot for the boat ramps and tackle shop. Park there and watch the ship come in.

From 8/31 to 9/15 we will be cruising on the Carnival Mardi Gras and then getting on the Wonder of the Seas the day we return to port.  Does anyone know if this distance is walking distance while carrying luggage?  Was not sure if a taxi would even take us for this distance.  Thanks

    I am a local.

I would not attempt walking as it's very dangerous with so many out of towners, but it is doable.

As far as taxis go. Stand in the cue and hop in. They have to take you.

Keep in mind it's hot here so if you decide to walk, be thankful you have your luggage so you can change when you get there.😁

Adding my question to this thread and appreciate any responses….

I have a young adult (20) who will be sailing with me on MSC for the first time. Typically we are on Royal and NCL and there are meet-ups and activities for ages 18-22. We are wondering if MSC does this? We are crossing our fingers, but also aren’t going to be crushed if not. There’s plenty to do regardless and meeting people isn’t hard. We’re just wondering…

Msc usually does nothing unless you are 17 and under.

I have been on two in the last 7 weeks and have seen nothing

Well, there are far fewer CC members in Europe/Med and/or taking MSC cruises in the Med.  It would be interesting to see if the same people who complain about the YC on cruises from the US would have the same complaints sailing in the Med.  I don’t think you can compare them, because your clientele is different.  In fact, if the European clientele would make complaints, they might be totally different from the complaints we hear.  EM

I have done more YC out of the USA than in and personally I don't find much of a difference.

We have never had a continuous good butler.

Most after Midnight are useless. Try getting something at 2am and it takes forever.

On a side note, NCL Haven is worse from our perspective. But in fairness we have never been in the enclave (except for Prima). We always have had our Haven room in or near the Aft.

We are excited to have our next cruise booked. We previously sailed on NCL Epic in Haven and we really enjoyed our trip. I went to look to book another and found prices nearly double what I had paid for our trip for same time frame and ship (also considerably more than double a deluxe YC suite when I added comparable drinks and spa access). I then discovered YC and after reading as much as I could we booked a trip on Seashore. It’s not even close to being soon, it’s in early 2025.

I think I got most of the info I need. We got a status match (no reason to other than it got us to the first tier for a small discount with MSC) and I am waiting to get a discount now for my wife being a teacher.

I guess I will be hanging around this board some now. Thanks in advance for your help to questions I will probably soon have and I look forward to participating here!

    Great. You will love it.

Just use a TA or transfer it to one. Don't risk it on MSC on your own.

    Hello!

This is my first time on MSC, so apologies if this has been answered before. We have a YC cabin, but our friends were not able to get one (sold out) and were not able to get an upgrade either :(.

Can we (YC) join our Aurea friends for dinner in the regular dining room? Or our only options to eat together are buffet and specialty restaurants?

Also, would we (YC) have access to Aurea area on deck 19?

Just off seaside 3 days ago.

Yes you can use aurea and yes you can eat in aurea restaurant. We did show up unanounced with friends (we ate in YC first)

Bumped into them and we only had desert, but we just showed our YC cards and it was no issue.

How did the food compare? I was watching a video review yesterday of MSC Europa, they showed and reviewed the food in the buffet.

It didn't look a patch to the buffet food we had on Seascape in February, everything from the choice to the presentation just didn't look as good.

From a Yacht club perspective, we also preferred EU food to USA.

What do people do when the NCL App shows a bonus of 25k, then you click the link and it takes you to a page with 20k bonus?

I don't want to apply for it and then get the smaller bonus

You need to screen shot it and call unfortunately but they will fix it.

There is the free cruise option if you have tons of points, but it’s balcony, not Haven.

And you will get the chance to upgrade but you will not get it even if you bid max.

Reason is because your cruise is zero $ in the system.

New to NCL here. Have an August 2025 British Isles cruise booked.  I applied for and got the NCL card (with the 25,000 point bonus) and paid NCL 1078.00 with it.  I checked my account today and have 28,234 points.

Not really interested in upgrading my cabin. It's one of the cheaper cabins, no view or balcony but I don't plan to be in there much.  I will likely redeem points for a statement credit instead.

I used a cruise first and still have a significant amount to still pay, prob about 6K total for me and my spouse. Includes free at sea plus for both of us does not include the pre cruise trip in London or the excursions I plan to book. Thats why I booked so early, so I'll have plenty of time to pay everything up.

If I pay the rest of my NCL purchases with my NCL card then I will get 3 points per each dollar spent, correct?

Does the 3 points per dollar apply to excursions booked through NCL too?

If I am calculating correctly NCL will be a much greater return than using my 2% cash back card.

    Thank you 🤩

Everything including excursions and even casino will pay 3x

Yes, the Ocean House area does get very crowded.  One time we had rented a cabana and very much enjoyed having our lunch delivered to us there.  But in general, the Ocean House can get so crowded.  I hope they really address this with the refresh while it is closed in April and May.

For clarity, the winds are real bad and seating is not available at ocean house. Just three tables.

All the lawn furniture is being used.

They contacted me on Facebook.  It was a woman who worked for MSC and she identified herself as a social media ambassador or social media specialist.  Something like that.  I didn't reply, as again, the cat is clearly out of the bag.

    Makes sense.

I am not on that site.  But I was contacted by this board years ago to stop posting something as they kept deleting it.

Also, the times I have visited the top sail lounge it never seems full unless it was the captain's party.

This week was a first for this. I never saw it before.

Could be everyone is an early eater and doesn't want to leave YC.

Currently on the private island. Ocean house area is packed. We cannot even get a seat right now at 1:15.

Everyone is here, not on the beach it seems

You mean if we don't pre-book seats prior to shows, we can't just arrive at theater 15 - 20 minutes early, without pre-booking, they won't let us in until 5 minutes before show?

You can just arrive and at 5 minutes they will let you in if there are seats.

I've done the smaller and the larger Sea**** ships and I've not experienced any of what you've described. I've sailed in summer and over Christmas/New Year's (full sailings) and never had to wait to sit and eat. Elevator waits can be a problem even for YC guests so I'd like to see an improvement to the elevator hijack system.

We aren't 100% sure if changes will be made to Ocean House during the closure. Time will tell and I'll see for myself if World America YC is too much for the area...but I've already booked my cabana, just in case...😉

Was told yesterday that they are adding to ocean house. Basically roof structures to cover guests for sun and rain and to allow for better furniture.

Another interesting thing was there is going to be a new channel cut so ships can sail in one way and out the other.

I asked if they will be able to dock two ships at the same time and was told. We will see.
