I just got off the phone with Aurea at Viking. You can embark the boat in Panama without the waiver, but even with a waiver, you can not disembark in Honduras. Only passengers with the vaccine can disembark in Roatan. She really could not explain to me why you need a waiver if it will not let you off the ship. Evidently, you do not want to take this cruise when it sails from Panama to Ft Lauderdale; only when it sails from Ft Lauderdale to Panama. You can disembark in Honduras if you haven't visited an area that is considered high risk for yellow fever. I would recommend that everyone contact Viking; I always get different answers when I speak with different customer service reps.

Received email from Viking 10/7 that yellow fever vaccine is required since our cruise starts in Panama then ports in Honduras. Why on earth would Viking wait this late to inform us of this requirement? Per the CDC, this has been in place for quite a while. My husband & I do not qualify for this vaccine due to age & health. Will the waiver from our doctor allow us to disembark? I can't tell from Viking's email. Has anyone experienced this on a previous cruise? Thanks

Transfers from Venice hotel to Trieste; Covid testing in Italy
Moosers Mom replied to Moosers Mom's topic in Italy Ports
Again, thank you for your input and assistance. Unfortunately, I have cancelled this shuttle from Venice because we have cancelled our August 21, 2022 14 day cruise on Oosterdam due to Covid. I have rebooked this cruise for September 2023. The 09/2023 cruise currently includes Egypt which was the main port I wanted to visit on the cancelled 09/2022 Volendam cruise. Fingers crossed things will be better in 09/2023. -

Oh Dear - I've already booked them. Maybe I can learn how to say "slow down please" or "we're not in a hurry" in Italian. Drivers seem to be speeding all over the world these days. Thanks for your feedback. -

Back from HAL Med cruise on Oosterdam
Moosers Mom replied to Oldies123's topic in Holland America Line
Thank you for your replies. It's a very different itinerary with only one sea day week 1, two sea days for week 2(but one is the last night). It is also two 7 day cruises back to back(Venice to Athens; Athens to Venice) and usually there are 2 gala nights per 7 days. I was hoping to hear from someone who has already taken this itinerary to better understand the arrangements. -

Not sure if this was addressed previously: Sailing Oosterdam August 21 - September 4, 2022 Can someone who has sailed this itinerary tell which nights are gala/dressy? I can guess at them but wanted to see if anyone had the definite answer -

Thanks to everyone on shuttle/transfer info. We have decided to use Veniceshuttle. They will pick us up at our hotel with a water taxi & we'll transfer to a minivan for the drive. -
Our cruise is July 10, 2022, and it's just the one 7 day cruise. My husband & I will be double boosted on our vaccine but our daughter doesn't qualify for the 2nd booster yet, so she will not be double boosted. Guess we'll just all test 2 days out. We did the OptumRx/EMed in February & it was very user friendly.

Am I understanding this correctly: 1) medically observed antigen test taken within 2 days of sailing 2) Complete requirements on ArriveCAN 72 hours prior to sailing 3) No post-cruise covid test required since we are sailing (not flying) back into USA Is this the current (May 4, 2022) health & safety guidelines??

I agree w/ DaveOKC: 1st day @ sea & last day @ sea will be Gala nights. We generally eat in the dining room these 2 nights & the other 5 nights in specialty restaurants. Our favorite specialty venue is Rudi's(we love seafood). Usually we dine at Rudi's twice, Pinnacle twice & Tamarind once. Enjoy your cruise!
