On Escape we could have done this, to see behind the closed doors. It was 79$ and this was a visit to see all the action that we don't see.
Someone did that? And was it worth the extra $$ ?

How long were you at the beach on the Tortola excursion?
Around 3 hours but it depends on the group because the driver ask before. If everybody is ok with a time set, we had to come back to him at the specific time near the bus. The ride to go is cool and they explain a lot of things and stop at some places for pictures. And to ride back is about 20 min because they use a shortcut and get ready to steep hill up and down. It's a hilly island and you have the full experience.
Cane Garden beach is good for those with mobility issues because the drop off is close to the beach.
We loved our time there and with the last call at 2h30 we came to the pier at 1h40

Here the search pattern

I was just about to post the same thing.
...could mean "how easy it was for someone in distress to jump off of the ship"
Yes that was my tought and for the wind thing
I said that in the aft it's a windy place even if there are windbreakers. For someone taking pictures close to the rails could be hazardous in some situations.
When a took my pics there I was not 100% feeling safe

Enjoy your day in Tortola we loved it and hope that you love swimming with Flipper.
The weather seems better than yesterday like us last week. We had sun in the morning in St-Thomas and lot of clouds in afternoon. Tortola was a beautifull day [emoji41]. Hope it will change everybody's mind from the sad moments of the evening

We were on the Escape last week and it surprised me that in the muster drill they never advise about ( Man over board ). On our last cruise on Princess they had told the steps if we had to deal with that. A friend of mine had experienced a man ready to jump on another Princess. It was late at night and the guy was passed overboard at the aft hooking up but ready to go. My friend talked to the man and he's sister ran in search for help with the security crew. The employees convinced the man to jump back in and it was a sad Lost money at the casino. In my alone waterfront walks early in the morning I thought about how it was easy to
#1 Jump off for someone in distress
#2 Or fall off while taking a picture at the aft. Good winds out there and it takes only a small water hump to lose feet
On Caribean Princess the aft was really higher than the Escape

Thanks so much for taking the time from your vacation to post. I appreciate it and love the pictures. My dh and I are sailing on Escape in July for my 50th and leaving kids at home...yikes lol
Can you please tell me what time the gym opened? Did you ise he treadmills and were you able to get one right away? I sailed on Getaway in February and if I wasnt there by 7 am, there was a wait for them. Can you also please tell me if they have rowing machines and if they have the water or chain.
Where do you guys hang out at night? Is there a bar that seems more lively than others?
Thanks so much!

For the gym it opens at 6h00 and you will be ok if u don't show too late. They have rowing I remember but not 100% sure.
They have a lot of threadmills and ellipticals on the right.

Thank you! I called reservations twice and they told me guest services. I am glad I will head to the right place.
Good luck to grab one of theses because last week they were sold out when we board at 12h00.
And for the Headliner it's the place to move some reservations already made for dinner pakg. You can book them on the giant screens but the employee there, made it really easy to move everything.

For social access it's 5 $/day and for full texting onboard you have to pay more. But I don't know the price because the basic social was ok and the speed on Escape was good last week

And I saw red sticker at work on the pool deck on sea day

Was also on this cruise and It's was a great cruise.
I will add my rope course and slides experience.
At first big thanks to the great team for these 2 activities. Big thumbs up to Sherwin had great laughs with him.
The rope course is really nice and challenge you a lot [emoji51] [emoji12]
For the slides the we did the aqua racers so many times because the kids are not allowed . And for the tube one, great slides, loved the ( open to see ) section
We did use the spice section a lot and there is only complaint for it.
Sometimes you can be affected by exhaust coming from the cheminees. It depends how the wind is coming and how strong. You need to look for that and choose the best spot

What is Escape room?

Mentioning the staff, everyone has been amazing. Just about everyone we have encountered has been fantastic. We got to see the often imitated but never duplicated Washy Washy guy Rommel. I'll get a pic tomorrow.

Was on the Escape last week and yes the staff is amazing with us
Special thumbs up to Sherwin who works mostly at the rope course and slides. A real joker this guy 😂 he's awesome with everybody and the kids loved him

We did Cane garden bay beach but with ncl. We loved the beach with nice little waves and didnt found that was so crowed. Yes there is a lot if people but not a problem for us and the loungers and umbrella are not expensive.
-
Just came back from the Escape and we loved it. Great ship lot of things to do. The speciality restaurants are really good
Cagneys is just amazing
Tempayaki is also really good but for the show you need a good Cook that's good entertainer ( We had Michael and what a show man really funny and knows how to make the dinner memorable )
Moderno we had the chance to eat on the Waterfront and it was an awesome experience ( watch out to eat to much [emoji12] )
Don't forget to book all your on board activities on the first day because they go fast. Company men in supper club was nice , The Brat pack and don't miss the shows of Andre the cruise director. We saw the perfect couples and the not so good wed and we laughed so hard.
For St Thomas we took a taxi by our own and went to Magens Bay. Nice beach no big waves. Chairs and umbrella were not cheap and we did without.
Tortola we did the beach day break excursion and they brought us at Cane garden Bay Beach and we loved it. Nice waves rentals we're affordable ( 15$ for 2 chairs and umbrella) a lot a spot for lunch.
Nassau we did the Atlantis discover and beach. We we're not impressed for the sea aquarium even if u take ur time it is really small
But for the beach Wow for those waves lovers that's the place. We went on the beach that's is on the right. Don't forget a board if u can bring one.

We just got off Getaway last week and were not able to get a lounge chair once the whole cruise. I did see many unoccupied chairs with towels or whatever sit unoccupied for hours.
Just got off the Escape and they were using the red stickers all week long
As an early bird I saw many cruisers already placing their towels and stuff at 5h30 6h00 am.
We used the spice H2o and had no trouble finding chairs for us.

I still have not gotten my money back , who has and when ?
On our credit card it was in the middle of last week
-
I still have yet to receive my refund. I was told that for the airport fees you have to fill out some forms and submit the paperwork showing what was booked and the new booking.
I also was on Norwegian Escape for the April 8th cruised and loved it. They treat us so well it was unbelievable. I am thinking twice about keeping my other cruise with Celebrity and with Royal. I might have to jump ships.
We loved it also and we will do Ncl for sure next time. For the paperwork I have already send theses their resolution center. I will need to call them tuesday to make clear for all the amounts refunded.
Sad that that u and others still wait for their money back.
My kids will come home later today and I've already put ur magnet on the fridge .
They will love it for sure and thanks again for this nice gift 🤗
-

Only two certificates at the time
-
As we are driving down to Miami for our NCL Escape replacement cruise....I just received our future cruise certificate with Celebrity which is supposed to be a big apology for trouble caused by the cancellation of the Summit cruise. They really need lessons in how to make a genuine apology! My certificate expires 4/4/2018. Not even good for a whole year folks! 25% of what I paid, NOT off the future cruise. Only good for the passengers named on this cruise. Here's the kicker---EXCLUDES Holiday sailings. I'm a teacher, so wish me luck with that.........
We are on Escape also and for the next cruise with the kids, we will surely use Ncl again.
We have no issues here and having great time.
-
By the way, it is April 10th and I am still waiting for my refund for the cancelled 4/8 cruise. I was originally told to expect it by the end of last week.....I am guessing there is something in the contract which allows Celebrity to take its time before issuing refunds (sarcasm).
Still waiting also ......
We are at the end of our cruise with ncl
Really like the escape and surely will do ncl again.
Tha's sad X let us down big time we were willing to sail with them. But how things turned out with this Summit mayhem, they have lost us $$$$$
Did somebody did The behind the scenes tour ?
in Norwegian Cruise Line
