Taxi's can't handle and hold 8 passengers with luggage.
We use Jiffy Jeff Transportation and they hold up to 14 passengers with luggage.
Nice Mercedes Benz Sprinter van's.

You should have plenty of time to walk off the ship with your luggage.
We also use a comparable shuttle company, Jiffy Jeff Transportation, for $15pp.

You're better off taking the La Quinta FLL airport south in Hollywood. Believe they have a free courtesy shuttle to the hotel.

We usually stay at the Spring Hill Suites Dania Beach because they have a free courtesy shuttle to the hotel.
The next day we take Jiffy Jeff Transportation to the port of Miami for $15pp.

If I were you I would drop off the luggage at the hotel and then take the Fort Lauderdale water taxi the entire day to kill time.

We always fly into FLL, the day before the cruise, because we save more money for a round trip ticket.
Most Ft Lauderdale airport hotels have a free courtesy shuttle that will pick you up and take you to the hotel.
We always liked the Ft Lauderdale area because it's a nicer and more family oriented and safer.
Cambria Suites Dania Beach and SpringHill Suites Dania Beach are two good hotels that we've stayed at.
The next day we then take Jiffy Jeff Transportation, from the hotel to Port of Miami, for $15pp.
This works best for us. A great option for you.

We usually stay at a FLL airport hotel and take a shuttle to Port of Miami.
We usually stay at the SpringHill Suites Dania Beach and take Jiffy Jeff Transportation the next morning.
They will pick you up at your hotel and take you directly to your cruise terminal. They also took us back to FLL airport after our cruise.
Great service and friendly drivers. $15pp you can't beat the price.
Think these might be your best bet since we have used this hotel and transportation company many times.
