Agree take the Tri-Rail to FLL and then grab a short taxi ride to your hotel.

We usually stay at the Cambria Suites Dania Beach. This is a hidden secret hotel not too many people know about. They have a free courtesy shuttle that will pick you up at FLL airport. Then we take a shuttle from the hotel to Port of Miami. We use Jiffy Jeff Transportation to get us to the port and back to FLL airport when we return from our cruise. For $15pp you can't beat the price. Highly recommend the hotel and the transportation company.

When we have a late departure flight, out of FLL, we take a cab to the Hilton Marina 17St and have them hold the luggage for the day post cruise. Then we take the water taxi for the day.

This might be a good option for you since you're coming in on a red eye flight that morning.

We used the Mobile Passport at Port Everglades and did self assist walk off.

We walked off the ship, with our luggage, and was outside the terminal in 15 minutes. Breezed right through.

This is probably faster then Global Entry and another alternative.

Eventually I hope port of Miami uses this app as well.

Highly recommend.

Do not recommend Uber.

We usually take Jiffy Jeff Transportation to FLL after our cruise, from Port of Miami. They even drop off at hotels just south of FLL airport, for $15pp.

Jiffy Jeff dropped us off at the Cambria Suites Dania Beach.

Other companies do not drop off at hotels so we were so glad to find this company.

Great drivers and customer service.

Highly recommend Jiffy Jeff and of course they have the Oakwood Shopping Center that has a bunch of stores and restaurants in the area.

Most hotels by FLL have a courtesy shuttle back to/from the airport.
