They have bus parking on ground level and every large group I've seen has been there but yes call the port.
I agree. I think there is a police officer / port authority that allows entry to ground level bus area.

Thanks very much for posting the dailies in large font for these tired old eyes.

That is exactly what NCL wants! Pretty smart, actually. As soon as the offer is made on the phone, and someone accepts, there goes their chance to get more $ for the same cabin. Now they can.
Also, a direct pay from the customer to NCL...commission free I would assume... straight profit for NCL without having to compensate those pesky TA's for the pricier cabins.

We've done Bernards Tour four times with our now 8 year and we've enjoyed the day each time. The "shopping time" kind of drags and that's when you need something to occupy the younger ones. Also on the return to the cruise ship port, sometimes there is a lot of traffic and that time can also drag.
In general we like the day because of the tour, beach time at Orient, sea urchin guy, lizard stop, etc. Our drivers Sexy, Mailman, etc. are very clear about how long it is to the next stop.
The tour also works well for us because my very active 87 year old mother comes with us

Bliss lounge (when there are no activities) has quite a bit of running room especially since they took out the bowling alleys.
Promenade deck is always good for activity;
Promenade deck at the front of the ship where your child can hear their echo;

Does anyone know how much OBC for the casino you get when you purchase 2 FCC?
I know for OBC for 1 is $100
And OBC for 2 is $250
So you're getting an extra $50
For OBC in casino for 1 is $125
For OBC in casino for 2 is ????
So Do you get an extra $50 OBC for the casino when you buy 2 FCC or just the $125 for each? Ty

I thought the Casino "special FCC offer" was $120... but I am probably wrong.
I never saw a Casino "special FCC offer" for multiple FCC's.
Maybe you could put one FCC in each cabin occupant's name and each get the special casino offer?

Found an older thread on the topic, curious if any recent cruisers were able to trade in the "lovely" sparkling wine platinum gift for a like value non-sparkling wine?
I think the problem is there are no comparable non sparkling wines... the sparkling wine is in a class by itself....literally and figuratively.

Yes you can now see your room charges on the TV located in your room (Post Dry dock)

Will the pats game be on somewhere on the Dawn??
I have signatures turned off, so I don't know when you are cruising. But if you are inquiring about an upcoming exhibition game, it will not be shown onboard.

We arrived home Friday, August 19th.
There were no rentals and no activity at Black Bay when we passed by a couple of times Sunday 8/14 - Tuesday 8/16 on the NCL Dawn.

The next price gouge will be swapping alcohol brands and refilling top shelf bottles with well bottle alcohol... like they do at some all inclusives...
went to an all inclusive in Mexico recently, had fifteen Gin and tonics throughout the day and barely had a buzz

Did you happen to walk through the arcade, and notice if there was a soda machine still in there?
Thanks,

We've done both jet ski tours (KS and Somerset bridge) and liked Somerset a little bit more.
Yes there is the hassle factor of getting to Somerset, but it was just a cheaper, better, personalized experience for us.

Glad to see the resort is complete / nearing completion... we've passed the construction site now on the way to the aquarium for years

I had planned a surprise cruise for my husband and me. It was out of NY, so we would be driving, and it was December, so an early Christmas gift. He is a cop and I had cleared the time off with his chief. I wasn't sure how I was going to tell him. I bought a Santa Hawaiian shirt. My little brain was putting together a plan. One evening, NCL called. He answered the phone and they said, "I'm just calling you about a change to your itinerary to your December 7 cruise." He said, "I think you need to talk to my wife." I would have been mad if I had a good plan in place but since I didn't it worked out perfectly. While I was on the phone with the horrified NCL rep, who knew she had ruined a surprise, my husband was dancing around the house singing, "I'm going on a cruise! I'm going on a cruise!"
A couple of years later, we took the same cruise but with friends of ours. We had gotten an upsell to a very nice suite. They had gotten an upsell to an owners suite. When they got their upsell offer, they asked NCL to call us as well. They called and got my daughter on the phone. She was probably about 12 at the time. She asked them to call back and of course they never did. It worked out great because my husband didn't know we were in a suite already. At check in, he thought we were in the suite line because we were with our friends. It wasn't until we actually got to our room that he knew we too were in a suite.
I also had NCL / PCC spoil the surprise... despite me instructing the PCC (and notating the file) that it was a surprise and to only speak to me regarding the cruise.... he called and asked my wife if she was excited about her upcoming cruise...
Didn't even get an extra plate of strawberries for that one.

What a nice, detailed update to read, thank you!! I sail out on the Gem next Sat.(7/30). Postings like this one only add to the excitement!:) We are driving ourselves and parking in the terminal lot for the first time, so fortunately won't need to worry about getting off quickly when we arrive back. It's always helpful to know how things are running though to gague how embarkation will go. Again, thanks!
Don't forget the parking coupon:

I think one needs to define 'Inside Passage' before an accurate description is provided.
Many maps refer to the Inside Passage as stretching from Vancouver Island all the way to Skagway.
Some define the inside passage as the eastern route around Vancouver island

I'm not belittling them. Their favorite pop is no concern to me.
I am aghast that pop has such control over someone's life.
The idea that pop is a deal-breaker for a cruise is just scary.
Plus, we are trying to get this stupid thread to 4000 posts so really...any post helps the cause.
One man's pop is another man's beer.

My favorite is the Chocolate lava cake with ice cream

I would guess that every thread is reviewed by someone at NCL.
Simply marketing gold in them thar threads.
NCL doesn't have to post to gather data.

Very nice review. Thanks for taking the time to review the Dawn and your thoughtful observations.

Tuesday at 2 isn't right. We were invited to two, one was at 2:00 & the other at 6:00. They weren't on the same day. We only went to the one @ 2:00 & I'm sure it wasn't on Tuesday because that's the day we went to Swizzle Inn for lunch. We took a taxi & arranged for the driver to pick us up @ 2:30 for the return to the ship.
I think it was Monday @ 2:00 and the other was Tuesday @ 6:00
Thank you. Yes I seem to recall the platinum latitude party shortly after leaving Bermuda.
take care,
Paul
