Miss the Bulgari in Sky Suites!

If booked through a TA, do you need to go through them to upgrade from classic to premium, or can you call Celebrity directly?

You read my mind. I am not a big enough drinker to warrant upgrading, but I sure do like a big bottle of Pellegrino in my room all the time.

Did either of you ever find out? I am also curious about this. -
Used to be a paid option for that. Don’t know if it still exists.

When FV cabins for a given sailing are first made available, they require 5 passengers minimum to be booked.
As the actual sailing date draws nearer, the 5 passenger minimum requirement is completely dropped to fill any unsold FVs. There is no hard rule on when that happens. You just have to diligently check online every day if you're intent on getting one. Some people on Cruise Critic have managed to book two people in an FV as far out as one year in advance.

Our TA is a major X agency, and had a wink wink arrangement with X that made it possible in spite of the old 5 pax rule for these cabins.
Great info! Thanks!

Could not find anything posted here on this.
We are Canadians, looking at doing a round-trip cruise from Vancouver (Alaska and back in 7 days). Are there any special duty considerations? Is it treated same as going to the US for 7 days?
Thanks!

Also as a follow-up question, did you receive an email confirming the cancellation?
No email, but Celebrity isn’t very good at communicating other than daily spam emails.

We cancelled on Friday but the cruise is still showing for us on Celebrity’s site under Upcoming Cruises. Is this normal?

Different guidelines for Celebrity
Any advice/insight on how to get a refund for a January cruise with Celebrity?

Appreciate you, Parkinson.

Don't know if folks saw, but Royal Caribbean is now permitting full refunds for cruises booked through end of January 2022, per the travel agent here:
Hope Celebrity does the same!

Our TA has given us the option to cancel our 2/6 Odyssey cruise with a full refund less the $250 deposit which will become a FCC. I’m waiting or a call back but as usual my impatience is growing.
So my question here is, will we be refunded the amount of the deluxe drink packages and CocoCay excursions we purchased?
Thanks,
CathyDid you have to state that you did not agree with the protocols, or was this just a regular Cruise With Confidence cancellation?

Looks like Royal Caribbean has updated its cancellation policy for their sailings, permitting cancelation with full refund for trips in January 2022, per post here:
Anything tried similar to Celebrity?
Thanks!

The policy was updated today. Sailings through Jan 31 can now cancel for a refund if you state you disagree with their masking protocols.
For not say you want to cancel under Cruise with confidence....that will get you a fcc. Refer to the updated protocols memo fir cruises yhrough Jan 31.
I cancelled 2 sailings today that sail late January for a full refund.
Anything similar for Celebrity?

You all have to understand how much I love the celebrity brand and how much it pains me to be on here making such negative posts. However, the treatment has been completely unbelievable with the lack of information. The crew are working tirelessly definitely a problem with the administration and how they are handling this crisis.
I hear you. My wife and I have enjoyed our Celebrity cruises so much, but this poor treatment leaves such a sour taste. I want to be a patron of companies that look after their customers.- 3

Has anyone here been denied boarding due to COVID exposure? I’m reading the Refund and Cancellation policy which states “If you, your family members, traveling companions or other close contacts are denied embarkation or reboarding, or quarantined or disembarked during the voyage, due to a positive COVID-19 test or being suspected of having COVID-19…” and was curious.
Working in the medical field with exposure to positive patients and coworkers may disqualify me from embarking. I don’t want to fly in to Florida from Canada only to be denied.

Because that's Royal's policy, in writing to passengers🙄
Wow they are ruining their reputation.

I find it restrictive too, especially during a pandemic. Cruise fares cost a lot more than an airline ticket.
Some people plan with friends and family over a year ahead for a certain week off, not to mention all the other life changing events going on.( Marriage, Births, deaths, sickness, jobs...) that effect everyone in different ways. We need more time to schedule a cruise into our 2022!
Maybe with the new CDC recommendations Celebrity might have to start giving refunds or being more generous??? One can only hope!
Hoping the same! I had booked this in January 2020 so did not have the benefit of COVID-related hindsight. And of course, Celebrity did not change the Final Payment date until after I had made final payment..

We will be cancelling our mid-January Celebrity cruise. Just waiting until the last minute in case Celebrity starts to offer full refunds like Carnival is doing. That and getting tested in case we're asymptomatic but positive, in which case Celebrity will also do a full refund.

Full FCC is available thru Celeb up to 48 hrs pre-sailaway. No excuse needed.
Of course, this is a credit, not a refund.I find the credit too restrictive. I do not have much availability to use it in 2022, and 2023 is already booked. The short expiry on the credit is very disappointing. Might need to catch COVID in order to get a refund.
It’s a crap policy and makes me quite disappointed with Celebrity.

Forgetting about the FCC for now, how long is it taking for folks to see any CASH refunded to their credit card? I read on another forum that was happening much earlier than they saw the FCC. In my case I canceled a cruise very soon after the final payment, and will get a large amount refunded to my credit card. The FCC is only a few hundred dollars, and I am fine waiting for months to see that.....
....BUT, I'd sure like to see that refund to me credit card ASAP!😉
Doug
How did you manage to get a refund after final payment? We’re hoping to do the same.

We use big box warehouse TA (rhymes with Bosco). Lately, the wait on phone hold is 1-2 hours. With today's Cbe DC announcement, I expect that wait on hold could be 4 hours or longer.
Curious how this goes! We're booked through them for Jan 21, 2022 but can't get a refund unless we actually get sick. Haven't tried calling them though.
