If you are on Deck 9, Port or Starboard...  great!!!!

If you are wanting AFT wake-view, make sure that you have chosen a deck with the 'deeper' larger balconies!

You are doing you homework and planning!!!!  You will, hopefully, love your cruise!!!

We won't get our actual cabin number until Thursday but (fingers crossed) it hopefully will be one of the 4 deeper balconies on Dolphin or Baja Deck.

Excited to sail on another cruise line. We have had a part covered deeper balcony on another cruise line and loved it so that swayed us.

  2. After much deliberation and looking at cabins on YouTube we decided on a deluxe cabin aft as my husband said, we don't spend much time in the bath too but we do on a balcony, so have opted for one of the bigger balcony cabins.

If it is a "settee" that you are after, a mini suite is not necessary. We always forego a suite and book a Premium Deluxe Balcony with a large balcony with at least partial overhead coverage and a "settee".

    Thank you for your input.

Some kind of a settee is important as I'm not a great sleeper and tend to get up so I don't disturb my husband so like to have somewhere to sit a bit more comfortable.

One thing to know is that "mini suites" aren't actually suites.

Am I right in thinking that they are accurate to the mini suite photo and they have a full sized proper settee?

Some of the mini suites in the midship section have larger balconies.

There are 4 mini suites way up forward on the marina and lido decks that have absolutely huge balconies.  I think they may be reserve class balconies but the cabins are also designed a bit differently as to where there is an actually separation of the bedroom and the living area.

    Thank you

  6. Hi.

Not new to cruising but haven't sailed with Princess before.

We are considering booking a cruise on Sky Princess in a mini suite and wondered if there are any suites to avoid or if there are any hidden gems.

    Thanks in advance

Great info on your cruise.  Any chance you have pictures or copies of the Compass Rose dinner menus.  My daughter and SIL are cruising on the Voyager in March and are curious about the menus.  All of my old copies are jut that, very old copies.

If Deep Freeze doesn't have any, I can post some when we are onboard. We join on the 5th for the TA.

Yes, there is entertainment every evening A very nice pianist has played every evening from 6 to 6:45 in OL; almost always natural duo has played in the Voyager lounge; and the 9:30 in the theater is either the Production cast or a Guest Entertainer. Late night has the return of the OL pianist (sometimes as Music Trivia), the Natural Duo in Voyager, and the Orchestra in Horizon Lounge. DW and I think the entertainment has been either very good or excellent with only a female violinist from whom we departed early. Both of our last nights has featured "Beatles Night" at 9:30 in the Horizon Lounge - great fun!

    Thank you so much.

Sounds as if we are in for a blast.

Have never had a Beatles night on any of our previous cruises, so here is hoping 🤞

John E as CD - been on (except for 7 weeks) since Voyager restart in January; excellent organizer of Trivia; very affable; and an amateur magician.

Richard Rubin as ACD - zany character, gifted pianist, runs a fun music trivia (Mary played every time offered) - I told him you were coming.

Emiliano C. as Head Sommelier. Also, Ugo the GM (a South African by birth residing in Italy) is "into" wines.

All are presently scheduled to be on Voyager on 1/05/2023.

Can I ask if there is entertainment in all the venues in the evening?

We were on Voyager early on her relaunch and there was a fab pianist in the observation lounge after the show or film and a duo in the Voyager lounge.

There was no orchestra and I just  wondered if the orchestra there was one now.

How would you rate the entertainment as a whole 😀

We did not like the Cullinan Southern Sun. Such a poor choice for Regent.

We too are in the Cullinan Southern Star,  would you like to expand on why you don't rate it.

I must admit my heart sank as I thought we were going to be in Table Bay Hotel.

But it will be what it is.

Absolutely Wonderful! Thank you so much for those festive impressions 🎄

we will fly to Miami on Monday (if it’s hopefully working out…), but I’ve heard that the situation at Frankfurt airport is pretty chaotic. If my luggage doesn’t make it to Miami, is there a chance to buy items like pants or a dress or shirts onboard?

We will have the same dilemma in a couple of weeks as we fly from the UK to SA and we have all sorts of strikes going on.

I intend to use our hand luggage allowance wisely and pack a couple of days clothes for each of us in our carry on cases. At least that way we will have three outfits that we can mix and match with.

Seas have eased but winds remain fierce.  No loungers on pool deck or water in the pool (depth ranges from 3'3" to 5'6").

Had a TERRIFIC saxophone performance last evening - show flew by! Mostly terrific Guest entertainment on our B2B with only 1 "stinko" (in my opinion) Guest entertainer.

The affinity group on board had a "Motown Sound" event in the Voyager lounge (anyone could attend) at 10:30 last night - the ship rocked and not just from the seas.

Christmas carols in the Atrium tonight

Sorry you have had to miss some ports but glad the entertainment has been good.

Just over three weeks till we board the ship 😀

    When does your cruise depart?

We fly on the 1st January and board the ship on the 5th.

Online check-in is this Thursday 15th and all it says until the 6th is TBD.

With all the strikes leading up to the new year in the UK, I'm just getting edgy about it all.

    I'm sure everything is fine.

  14. We are only 3 days from online check-in and our itinerary on our cruise personalise is still say TBD for our flights (we know these and have selected our seats) our pre-cruise hotel and tour.

Our TA asked which hotel would we be based in and Regent replied that it should be The Southern Sun, The Cullinan but we haven't received anything officially or even an itinerary for the pre-cruise tour.

I'm sure on our previous cruises this infor has showed much earlier than this.

A poster requested opinions about excursions in Walvis Bay.

On our long day we rented a Regent van for 8 hours; we saw "everything" per a pre-selected itinerary (which we got from a passenger who rented a van on our 1st leg). There were 4 of us and the driver/guide; it could have taken 6 passengers but it would have been less comfortable. Came back after 7 hours as not to miss the return performance of the Nambian (Mascoto) Youth Choir @ 6PM.

Taked to 2 sets of "non-birders" who went on the Bird Watching tour - they enjoyed it very much. and even reported sighting a jackal!

This AM we went (very early) on the Seals and Dolphins excursion  - Great fun in a 25 passenger catamaran. Shortly after departure, we were visited by: a huge sea gull who "stole" fishes from our guides outstretched hand; then a young seal who was fed as he/she wandered among the passengers; followed by 2 (later 3) LARGE, beautiful pelicans who could be petted and who posed in a lot of selfies; saw thousands of seals close up; and as a final thrill - a whale sauntered by our boat. A Wow for sure. Tasty finger food, champagne, beer and "the world's best fresh oysters" were served in the enclosed cabin.

Thank you. Sounds a great stop and we too have the seals and pelican tour booked.

Really looking forward to our overnight stop in Walvis Bay.

  16. Loving your carry on report from Georgia Peach and we too travel with our companions and our grandchildren love following their adventures.

A quick general question for anyone.

On all the cruises we have undertaken and I see on yours, friends of Bill W meet. Who is Bill W?

    I'm just intrigued.

Let me see if I can do this.  Here are ours.  Previously we had ones like yours.

Ours are very much like airline tags and some of the us Brits that weren't receiving anything apart from online documents were given the same ones we received in the post today at the pre-cruise hotel in Rome, so yes the USA cruisers seem to be getting different ones to us.

Update: As of now, John E will be replaced as CD on Voyager by Andy (with Tammy) when ship reaches BsAs; John will go on vacation then.

Warm weather gear broken out as outside temp about 63F and winds about 30 knots. Will be late to Walvis Bay as winds are on bow (ship going at max. speed).

Thank you. That is a long stint John E has done as he was on before Voyagers first cruise back, but will look forward to seeing him again.

Looking forward to your report from Walvis Bay as we are overnighting there.

  19. Much excitement in our house today as this envelope arrived from Regent with

deck luggage tags enclosed. No making my own like last year and thank you to Regent for listening to the feedback and sending these out.

Excitement is beginning to mount but we have a little event called Christmas to get through before our pre-cruise tour 😀 IMG_20221202_104613.thumb.jpg.67ec16f7800837a8f31d7e57628ca30d.jpg

@SusieQft  You will be happy, then!  There was commentary about the wines, information about them, and why they were appropriate to each dish.  I learned a lot, and of course, it is such a pleasure to drink really superb wine rather than the wines we normally drink.

Really hoping we can sign up to this on our forthcoming transatlantic on Voyager. Thank you for all the fab positive posts about it.
