  1. We are leaving out of Mobile on Oct 20, this will be our first time out of this Port. Do you have any recommendations on the parking. We are going to Park at the Port parking structure. From what I have read it looks like when we get there they will take our luggage from our vehicles then we will park in the structure, is this correct? We have an 11:30 check in time so I was trying to decide how early we need to get to the Port to park, unload, etc.

Pay in advance to avoid lines. You pull in, porters help you unload. Then you drive up the ramp and find a parking spot.

Once you find a spot, get rest of your stuff and go get in line to go through check-in.

If you don't prepay, you have to get in this LONG line and pay a machine. When you prepay online have the tag of the car you are going in. They check the tags against a spreadsheet of people who paid, if you don't pay. Your car gets fined or towed.

  2. Thanks for the review. I would guess having a small cabin and the lack of desserts that you enjoy impacted you the most? Does Carnival not have the melting cake, cheesecake, and ice cream each night any longer? Those work for me. But yes the newer ships are probably a better fit if you want to pay a bit more. Again thanks!

Yes they have all of those!

  3. If I purchased this now for a December cruise, and something better comes along, can I cancel it and get the new thing? I'd hate to miss out on the current offer if I just wait...

I am almost positive I read where John Heald said this was it for Photo Packages for the foreseeable future. I'd go ahead and buy in case they decide to do away with it.

  4. Just curious if you park at the Mobile Port or if you park off site? We are sailing out of Mobile and that will be our first cruise from that Port. I have not had any luck finding any off site parking.

If you are looking to park off site just keep in mind that shuttles sometimes take over an hour to get you to your car. Many people are ready to get off ship and head home.

I parked at port so I didn't have the extra frustration of having to wait to get on the road.

  5. Also go to Facebook type in Carnival Fantasy October 11th 2018. There is a Facebook group full of cruisers on your same trip. Be careful when you go to Mr. Sanchos, it is perfectly safe, but make sure your phone is on ship time, and give yourself PLENTY of time to get back to the ship so you aren't left behind.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have!

  6. Yeah that was mild. I wound up topless on stage (Fun Squad member got me a curtain to cover up with). We had to show nudes, change clothing, lots of things.

It is in the funtimes, usually after the comedy show around 12 midnight. Adult Scavenger Hunt I think it was told. On Fantasy it was Ship on Stick, free Champagne, and a open bar for all participants on the Serenity Deck.

  7. There is one in the daytime that is family friendly. Then there is an adult one which is late at night after the 18+ comedy show. They give several warnings, make anyone under 18 leave, and mention several times that it is 18+ and can get risque/raunchy.

  8. If you would like to get to your room as soon as you board to unload all your carry-on stuff, and if you hate standing in lines, then yes.

    Otherwise I wouldn't suggest it.

I am traveling with my mother on my next cruise, it is her first one. She will hate lugging things around, and so to not have to listen to her gripe for 2 hours I have paid the extra, WELL worth it for me.

Just depends on you and your situation. Some people hate the extra costs and say a few hours saved isn't worth it.

  9. It is very confusing!

So for the Wifi packages that is for that person to use. If you want more than one person to be able to use the internet at the same time, you would need more than one wifi package.

Or you can buy one wifi package and let Susie use if for a hour, then Johnnie for a hour, then you for a hour.

For $5.00 per device you can use the messaging app through the HUB App

  10. Dear Lord some of you folks can sure beat a dead horse.

You choose to take a vacation. You choose to cruise with Carnival. Are you forced to purchase FTTF or the Cheers packages? No! Is it a option for people who would like to spend the money to do it? Yes!

I never had a problem getting ice, my steward asked if I wanted ice, and i ALWAYS had ice in my room. He also got a nice tip for that extra service.

MDR - I love to eat, my ex husband was a chef. While I am not a professional, I know good food when I eat it. I also know what it takes to feed that many people. Is it what you would get at a 5 star restaurant? Of course not. But it is what I would expect to get in a large galley like the Carnival kitchens. Which BTW cooks the same food you get in the buffet that people like to bitch and moan about.

Room Service Charges - I don't blame them for doing it. They have people drunk calling to place orders at night, then passing out and not answering the door and getting their food. I didn't mind paying less than I would going out to eat back home to have it delivered to my room and the different options.

Annoucements/Advertisements - this is how they make money. I never found it to be excessive and I tuned most of it out. I went to the events that I wanted to go to, and ignored the ones that I didn't. Most "sales" pitches when walking around the ship received a simply, "No Thank you" and they never asked me again. But that didn't bother me. No different than walking around the mall in my hometown.

If you go on a Cruise expecting 5 star service, 5 star dining, and a out of this world experience, then Carnival is NOT the cruise line for you. Adjust your expectations.

If you want a cruise that is affordable, with options to add on based around your needs, then Carnival IMO is a good choice.

But again, it is YOUR choice. I am sure Carnival has done testing, research, and focus groups on every price, decision, idea, concept. They know what works, and would quickly change it if it didn't.

YOU may not like that, but unless more feels the same way it will not change.

I don't really care, I just want a comfortable room, decent room service, food, and mindless entertainment to unwind and relax on my hard earned vacation!

  11. Yes! She can bring it. However, Security WILL confiscate it. itwill be a nice parting gift for a security officer.

As stated before only wine or champagne bottles are allowed, unopened, and 1 per person.

may bring one 750 ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne per person in their carry-on luggage. All liquor, beer, other forms of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages outside of this exception are strictly prohibited in both carry-on and checked luggage and such items will be confiscated and discarded and no compensation will be provided.
