The Marina deck was used one day on our 20 day Sojourn Mediterranean Cruise last year. I was given the impression from Seabourn regulars that it was available more often than not, in the Med.

I used George's for a private day tour and was very happy with the service, so would happily recommend for transfers.

Is a backpack (or anything else) included with the complimentry jacket on expedition voyages? I thought I read that somewhere, maybe when I ordered the jacket, or on this site, but can no longer find any info. (when I put in Jacket on the seabourn website search, the word isn't recognised???). Any info re size, sturdyness, drink bottle holder or anything else would be appreciated, if in fact a backpack is included. (or info re navigating the website) Cheers

I like the larger showers on Viking, and not using the bath or requiring a second basin, would rather that space on SB be used to allow more room between twin beds. A choice of shower only cabins on SB would be welcome. I prefer the specialty restaurant on Viking, and also enjoyed several of the included walking tours especially in first time ports, a good introduction. I did a combination of included and purchased tours. I rather the main dining room on SB as it has more larger shared tables. Viking has many tables for 2, but they provide little privacy because of the closeness. I would happily book Viking again, but if the itinerary made it a toss up, I would choose Seabourn. Solos are very well looked after, the hosted dinners are great and Seabourn Square is a very lovely area not replicated on any other ship I have been on.

Invitations to hosted tables for dinner is one of the real pluses on Seabourn. Even though I was travelling with my sister I attended the drinks for solos on the first night. I asked if I could be included in invites as my sister quite often prefers room service, and as a result we were both invited to join a hosted table on most nights, some of which she declined and I accepted. I/we met a mixture of solos and couples, plus of course the host which varied from guest speakers, dancers, singers, CD and other officers. The Swan Hellenic Maitre D would ask when you arrived at the dining room if you would like to join a table, or have your own, which meant solos, couples and triples could easily mix for dinner and meet new people. After their (SH) demise, I struggled to find a cruise line that did it so well having poor experiences on Silverseas, Regent and Viking which ranged from being placed on a table where the other guest had already finished 2 courses, being seated with a party of 7 who where all travelling together and didn't appreciate a stranger at their table, and being told I could have a solo table and in future should pre arrange dining companions. How delightful it was on my first Seabourn cruise recently to be made so welcome enjoying the company of new aquaintances.
