  2. So in last 4 days… it’s sold out its cancelled it’s under review its cancelled its sold out… A completely amateur operation….just going to write this off and sail with someone who can communicate with their customers. Cheers
  3. I reached out to VV via X. This is their reply…. Thank you for reaching out, Matthew, let's dive right in. Our fabulous Resilient Lady is still set to sail on September 29th, 2024, the voyage has just been sold out. This is why it's no longer available on the website.
  4. I see that Virgin Voyages have now removed the banner that explained the removal of cruises for Resiliant Lady. I truly hope that does not mean we have to wait longer than the end of February to find out if our cruise is going ahead. Time is money as they say, we just need to know. Having had cruises cancelled or significantly altered by with NCL and RC, they are far superior in their communication. Apart from a few who use this site and other forums, most other passengers are booking flights and hotels completely unaware that it looks very likely that it will or has been cancelled. I find this totally irresponsible and selfish. From my own point of view I have leave booked for specific dates. It’s a bloody nightmare. Costing up similar cruises at short notice is going to cost significantly more.
  5. Exactly what they told me..,however next years cannot be sold out!!! This Year’s is not sold out either I check regularly for price changes etc… they are lying!!!
  6. So if they cancel, they will offer you too book any cruise at the same price as what you had booked this cruise for. The only problem is that there are not many lengthy cruises 12+ nights. Or get your money back?? I was so excited ish to go with Virgin for the first time.,,not sure if that sounds right!! After NCL, RC and others. Like most things it’s great if it works.., but at this moment in time I’ve found their customer service etc truly appalling.
  7. Good afternoon, The same cruise next year has been taken off the website also. As I said earlier they told me it was cancelled yesterday then changed their minds. It’s pretty shambolic at best. I got a friend to call to check availability they said it was sold out!!! Just need to know sooner rather than later. I’m already out of pocket on some flights and a hotel. The price was good, we even invited our daughter along too…
  8. Hello, After last few days of uncertainty surrounding Resilient Lady for future cruise on 29/09/24. I decided to call Virgin Voyages, because if it is cancelled I need to change leave, pay for another etc. Time is money as the saying goes. Have incurred costs already on flights and hotels all non refundable. So just a few mins ago the following happened.. Call 1 - I was told the cruise was cancelled, I said what happens next. I will receive email detailing terms etc. I was then told the cancellation was not official. Clearly should not have told me that. Then back peddled. I asked to speak to a manager, place on hold. Line went dead.. Rage!!! Call 2 - After explaining all again, was told that it had been removed because it has sold out. I said I did not believe this was case. Time for another different answer it’s now under review. Possibly going ahead. But not cancelled today….so many contradictions. First time with Virgin, I fully appreciate that the world is mad at the moment and things change. But do not lie!!! Don’t say it’s cancelled then change your mind…but if you read between the lines!!! We both work, need to plan leave, etc, Making these calls has only added to the confusion. If anyone has not booked flights, hotels etc relating to above cruise…I would wait!!! Cheers

  13. Good morning. Will be gutted if that is the case?? Ibiza was probably the main reason why we booked our first Virgin Cruise. Still shows Ibiza on Virgin website. But why would the port show that info. Looks like the website will be updated soon?? Cheers.

  15. Good evening, Many thanks in advance for any advice given etc. Have sailed with RC and NCL, and just got off Arvia, well few days ago. Possibly looking to sail on VV Resilient Lady next September on 12 night cruise. The price looks good compared to RC & NCL. The included food and $600 bar tab makes it even more appealing. Do prices remain pretty stable with VV, would hate to book and find price falls significantly. A couple of quick questions if I may… Is all food and snacks included, like coffee bar pastries etc Is the bar tab useable on anything other than drinks… Any other hints tips etc is so appreciated.   16. Good afternoon to one and all… After much deliberation we decided to stick with our P & O booking. After deciding the positive reviews just about outweigh the negative. Set sail on Sunday. Currently docked in Valencia, giving me a minute to type up our first impressions. These are just the thoughts and our opinions about the P&O Arvia, mainly in comparison to our previous cruises with NCL and RC. This cruise was approx 2k cheaper than RC sailing out of Southampton. So there’s always going to be some different experiences. But is it worth the extra £2k. To be honest we are still not sure….. Positives… Great to sail out of Southampton. So much easier and cheaper. Parked the car Westquay shopping centre, cheap… The ship is newish. Balcony cabin on deck 14 is great. Boarding, no problem was due to be 1.30 we were onboard by 12.55.. I believe it’s full and is busy, but avoid certain areas at certain times and you can find a quiet spot away from your cabin. Bars, got the classic drinks package. Good choice of beer brands etc. Food, some of the specialty restaurants have been good. We have not used buffet or MDRs but below were good. Beach House Glass House Keel and Cow…. The quays is a good concept…and food on the whole is ok… Towels don’t need to be booked out. Love the sunset bar on deck 8 with the Ibiza tunes at night. Entertainment, it’s all down to personal taste. The SAS talk was excellent. First two ports no problems boarding, buses etc. Not into the formal nights etc, but there plenty of places for everyone to have a good night. Negatives Service is just not crisp in comparison to others. Dreadfully slow at times. The staff, though not unhappy are just not as punchy on previous cruises, there is no doubt about this. The cocktails are just so inconsistent, some being barely drinkable. The frozen cocktails are bulk made, which makes them poor. Aged old problem with towels on sunbeds!! Aghhn Bars are not open at the time when they are needed the club house being a great example of this. Food, buffet standard just nowhere near RCL etc, went up twice, nothing looks good..walked out. It’s a long way off. Sindhu the most overrated restaurant in the universe… it’s just not good!! The whole fusion thing is tosh, a M&S curry has more flavour!!!!! Deserts - it’s a cruise ship problem, most are just lumps of gelatinous something. That said the ones in the Keel & Cow were ok. We are not really into the culture of hail the captain of the ship, we just don’t get it!!! P&O seem really obsessed by this culture. Many folks have helped me on here, so if I can help in anyway. Feel free to ask a question. Won’t have internet for next 24 hours. Personally I don’t won’t to see work emails etc. Will give final thoughts on the 14/10/23 Cheers

  19. Good evening… Just been following a 4 episode blog on YouTube and shorts are being worn every night in all restaurants apart from the formal night. This was on Arvia. The 2 larger ships are definitely going in a different direction. Only 2 formal nights on 2 week cruise, sooner or later that will be none. Cheers
  20. Good evening, well almost morning. Being a couple who recently cancelled our first cruise with P&O after reading various reviews, vlogs etc. The negativity towards the 2 larger ships in the fleet is out of control. We have sailed with NCL & RC numerous times. To the outsider does anyone who sails with P&O actually have a good time?? Most appear to revel in the most trivial of any issues. If this is the norm for the P&O cruiser on Arvia and Iona, anyone visiting these forums for advice etc, will run a country mile. Can it really be that bad…… Cheers

  23. Hi, Any advice is much appreciated. After hearing the not so good news of Arvia on various blogs still unsure about sailing this October 1st, deposit has been paid £300 balance due £2700. Just been on website and price has fallen by £350. So now annoyed that this happened also..or should we cancel and rebook and save £50… It’s very frustrating.. Cheers
