It is either L'Occitane or Bvlgari. We've been in the Haven lately which is L'Occitane.

Thank you!!     We were in the Haven for our last 2 cruises (last one in Jan) and it was L'Occitane on both of them.  I really dislike the smell of that brand, and was hoping they had changed to Bulgari   😁

  2. We will be sailing on the Jade in a Suite "SD" cabin on Deck 10.  Does anyone know what kind of shampoo/body lotion/soap that they have in the Suite cabins currently?  Trying to figure out if I need to bring my own, or use what is provided.

    Thanks

I sail often from PC and sometimes it was easy and I got a parking space quickly. Other times, I've waited in a long line to park then ended up lucky to get a space. The downside is after the cruise you have to schlep your luggage back to your vehicle and pray the elevators are working (often only one is operational and a few times they weren't working at all).

When I sailed from Port Canaveral in March I tried Port Parking Space (upon recommendation from a friend) for the first time. It is located inside the port and was an excellent and less-hassle experience and much less cost than the terminal garage.

When you arrive, there are plenty of attendants to check you in and take your luggage. You then take a five minute shuttle to the ship.

After the cruise, a shuttle was waiting outside the terminal and after a short ride back to their lot, I was on my way home.

Here is a link to their site: https://portparkingspace.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIidSngM2yhgMV96FaBR2kAA0sEAAYASAAEgIvCPD_BwE

Thank you so much for that link!  Will definitely check it out.

  4. Thank you for your responses!   So i guess if we decide to park in the terminal lot, we'll plan to get there maybe a little before 10, and keep our fingers crossed we can get a spot in the garage.

@ GA Dave......I noticed the last time we were there last time that it looked like they were getting ready to do some construction in that surface lot.   So if we decide to drive our truck, do they have any "oversized" spaces for larger vehicles anymore at Terminal 10?

  5.

We will be on the NCL Jade in 2 months.  Question is about the parking at the terminal.  We usually park in an off-site lot, but were considering the parking garage this time.  If we arrive at the parking garage around 10am, will we be able to find a space in the garage at that time, or will they already be full?  I have heard stories that people get there really early and the garage is full by mid-morning.
Also, if we drive our truck, it might be considered as "oversize" and wonder if there is any surface spaces in the lot at the terminal for oversize vehicles?

    Thanks for any help/info/suggestions

The gift shop did not contain one item related to our cruise. Only Caribbean items. Who wants to go on a TA cruise and purchase a Virgin Islands T-shirt? Think I am getting snarky? Just wait!

That is a gripe from me too!  I've noticed on my last 3 NCL cruises that there is precious little in the gift shops for actual NCL items (shorts/t-shirts/caps, etc).  The one shirt offering on the last 2 NCL cruises that had the NCL logo on it was a very strange material shirt, obviously some mysterious synthetic that felt weird.  Other lines we've sailed on had a lot of their own cruise line logo apparel.

Regardless of what you read on the internet, the only thing that is relevant is what NCL requires. If you fail to meet NCL's COVID protocols, you will be denied boarding.

    https://www.ncl.com/travel-requirements-by-country

Interesting that their country list does not include any of the Caribbean island countries.  Should I assume that if a particular country (ie: DR/Haiti, BVI, etc) is not listed, there are no covid restrictions?  Or do I have to check out each island's official page?

Restaurant menus are very similar on ships across the NCL fleet. The link below contains menus from specialty restaurants on the Breakaway, a cousin to the Escape. On the Escape, “Bayamo by Ocean Blue” has a menu similar to the attached Ocean Blue menu.

Oh, thank you so much!  Will definitely check it out.

Staying in a suite for the first time next January on Beyond . Think my ‘butler’ will have an easy time as I’m quite capable of doing all those things myself . It’s part of the fun of planning 😆

Ditto for me.  I'm thinking on my spring cruise, my Butler will have it really easy.  I can't imagine what I would even need him for.

In the eyes of this beholder, cruising lost it’s sparkle long before covid. This beholder’s opinion is based on 47 cruises with almost 500 days at sea, with about 240 on Celebrity and 65 on RCL., none after October 2019.

Agreed, similar opinion for me, based on over 65 cruises.

Yes, Celebrity needs to get over the mandatory wearing of masks  There is no absolute safety, either on cruise ships or grocery stores.   AND cloth masks don't stop viruses from entering one's body!

    Hear, hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  totally agree

So just stay home and isolated.

We all have to make choices and decisions. All of life is a risk - you can get hit by a runaway car while you're walking down the sidewalk, or you can do everything right health-wise and still end up with cancer. Each person can decide what they are comfortable with in all situations.

If someone is so freaked out that even removing their mask to eat or drink is an issue, cruising is not for them right now. If ever. Unless they're renting a private yacht where they supply the crew from people they know are 100% virus free. Then cruising would be ok I guess.

    100% agree!   Great post!

  14. We just booked a week cruise on the Escape.   Is there a link to CURRENT menu's for dining venue's on the Escape?  This will be my first NCL cruise since The Norway in the mid 80s.   I wanted to give them our business since they were the leaders in dropping the "vaxx" mandate & now doing away with covid testing for un"vaxx" passengers.
    Thanks!

I have to shlog to work and risk covid at work, my kids risk covid at school. might as well risk getting covid doing fun things, too. Vaxxed, boosted, masks, etc. isn't going to prevent anyone from getting it at this point, but people aren't dying from it at even close to the rate as they were before. COVID is here to stay for the long haul, just like the flu. We just have to learn to live with it and move on. I suspect the 5 day isolation period for positive cases will also disappear by the end of next year. They'll just say you can go back once you are fever free for 24 hours like we do for all other viruses.

    Great post!   100% correct!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's just super. Because little kids are so good at remaining sanitary.  Sorry, nope. Kids don't need to be grabbing their own food.  Basically until they learn to keep their hands out of their mouths, noses, shorts, and stop touching every conceivable thing in their universe, they don't need to self serve.

    Totally agree

    It's right on the COVID-19 cancellation policy - https://www.ncl.com/refund-and-cancellation-policy-covid-19

Denial of Embarkation or Reboarding; Quarantine and/or Disembarkation

    • If you, your family members, travelling companions or other close contacts are denied embarkation or reboarding, or are quarantined or disembarked during the voyage, due to a positive COVID-19 test or being suspected of having COVID-19, you and they are entitled to a prorated refund, or an optional Future Cruise Credit (“FCC”), for the amount paid to Norwegian in the event of denial at embarkation, or the unused portion of your fare in all other cases

But the OP stated:  "if you have had close contact with a person with covid, you will be denied boarding"..
The policy you quoted above does not say anything about someone just "being close to someone with covid".   It deals with an actual positive test result, which is understandable.
Just being in contact with a covid + person, does not mean you are automatically going to get covid.

If you live near a US passport agency you may be able to get a passport much faster than 5 weeks, if travel is within 14 days.

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast/passport-agencies.html

Not sure what the process entails now but about 6 years ago we got a renewal passport in 3-4 days at the Chicago agency. Involved 2 trips to the agency and some $$. But way faster than expedited mail process.

Husband discovered less than a week before taking youngest on a dive trip that the kids passport had expired. Not sure how it works now but at the time, Chicago agency also did a very limited number of same day passports.

Thank you for your help!  Appreciate it!
