  1. Mothergoose... okay maybe swans. City Beach. Where are all those Norwegian women in bikinis our talking Twizy mentioned over and over? Ah... in the hot pool of the local swimming pool.
  2. Shops at the terminal.open on this Sunday when most local shops will be closed.
  3. Walking map of the local town. Follow the footsteps in red to see everything or so I’m told. The HOHO bus is permanently shutdown here.
  4. Sunday morning before 8am the town here is empty. That's when it started raining.
  5. I was informed by a very cold ship photographer on the pier I was the 7th person off.
  6. AccuWeather says it's raining right now. Looks like the port area is industrial.
  7. We are arriving into Kristiansand Looks like another shore power capable port.
  8. Day 11 cruise compass JW May 30 day 11 cruisecompass.pdf
  9. Sailing away from Stavanger. We experienced light rain, moderate rain, heavy rain, partly cloudy, cloudy and full sunshine in the last 15 minutes.
  10. It’s always awkward running into your ex-wife.
  11. I once met a Norwegian frequent cruiser and then ran into him a number of times before the shutdown. I haven't seen him since, but I recall he made reference to a Norwegian appertif that's only available in Norway. I think this is it. Cheers!
  12. Apparently when Huldra is finished with the men she lured in the mountains they end up in this bar. Meanwhile it's a beautiful day in Stavanger! Just when I think I'm walking in circles I find some new streets.
  13. The sun looks like it’s out, but just in case, Konrad’s Stout seemed safer than risking more rain. At 10.4% a stout in a wine glass seems appropriate. At moments like these, warm, dry, I wonder how that 7 hour hike to and from Pulpit Rock that @Hoopster95 is on, is working out. Hopefully this clearing weather is heading in that direction.
  14. Having visited the watchtower museum this statue makes a lot more sense now. Not only watching for enemies, the watchmen were the police and fire brigade of the day. They commanded respect, but I suspect the rod with sharp iron ball on the end contributed to that.
  15. That's when I encountered Todd the Axe Man It's (almost) noon.
  16. Rain moving in. Good time to visit the watchtower museum. 30 NOK, 3 USD, 3 EUR
