We are sailing on June 2nd and was so bummed last night when we got the email.  This is the 2nd Summer in a row we have tried to cruise to St. Thomas for the port to get cancelled. This is our 1st time cruising with RCL.  We usually cruise with Carnival -- last Summer when our port was changed from St. Thomas Carnival compensated each of us $50 OBC.  I can't believe RCL makes a change like this and doesn't even offer some sort of OBC.   How is PR even a fair compromise?  I've been there done that with PR...I booked this cruise to 1.) try out RCL for the first time and 2.) Finally make it to St. Thomas.  So far I am not impressed with RCL and their customer service.  I will continue my loyalty with Carnival in the future.  Especially for the price I paid for this cruise!  Almost double what I pay on CCL.

I have been loyal to royal for a long time but this will make me rethink future bookings.

The fact that this has apparently been an issue with Allure for some time and they chose not to address it speaks volumes.

I can not believe that they are not even offering any type of compensation either.

I am very very frustrated. I sail in 10 days and am trying to not let this get the best of me.

  2. The issue I have is that this apparently has been an issue for some time and they chose NOT to address it.

Had they been transparent when I booked and said hey we have propulsion issues which can/will severely affect the ship, book at your own risk because we may need to skip ports then yes I signed up for that.

If there was a weather related itinerary change then I don't think anyone would have an issue with it but I booked this cruise based on the itinerary they sold be.

Its the equivalent to buying a pizza and getting 6 slices but still being expected to pay for all 8.

I certainly wish I could cancel but they don't give me that option.

Good customer service says you take care of your customers so they should offer a credit or OBC....but as we all know RCI customer service sucks a*s so I an not expecting anything.

I do not understand why they have NOT informed us yet?? I am beyond furious. I booked this for St. Thomas alone, and was already not getting off in Nassau because it doesn't appeal to us either. WHY do I find out on here?? People that are cruising in several months get emails and we're sailing in 1 1/2 weeks and we hear NOTHING. WOW. I try to keep giving Royal more chances and they continue to disappoint....

I agree...booked this cruise for St Thomas.

I will be calling tomorrow to complain but doesnt sound like they will offer compensation...why?, well the cruise contract allows them to change....but not offering anything is poor customer service.

  4. I had the same result with being directed to the new site.

Its just funny that for my upcoming Allure cruise, people on facesomething have been able to fill out those forms where some of us cant...not the end of the world I guess, I will just do it at check-in the day of.

Also gotta love that Royals people know nothing as well...but I should have figured that right.

    Thanks everyone for the help.

  5. So remember last springs website "upgrade" disaster...well there was a backdoor web address way to get into your cruise account...does anyone have that?

Reason I ask is that the new website does not show the On-board activities waivers that you can sign them before hand...but someone on a facesomething site showed a screen shot of her signing them and it was the old website.

I wanted to get all the paperwork done ahead of time.

I called Royal and after explaining the multiple people what I wanted to do on the website, no one had a clue so after 20 minutes I gave up.

    Thanks for the help.

Does your wife drink soda, freshly squeezed juice, bottled water, smoothies, non-alcoholic drinks, specialty coffees?  If so you might consider the refreshment package for her and the alcohol package for you.  You'd have to call to arrange this, but it is possible if it works for you.

Thanks...we will take a look at that option.

We sail on the same itinerary in October.  If you think about saving/posting the cruise compasses, that would be a great help to my planning.  Are you seeing any deeper discounts on the beverage/dining packages at this point?

I will try...I always start out well but by day 4 or 5 I forget to keep them...haha.

Best I have seen was 30% off just recently...most sales have been 50% off second.

I did buy the bottle and mixers in the room deal though and am hoping to see the drink cards at some point....cant justify buying the drink package for both of us as my wife would never drink enough for us to break even.

You shouldn't have any issues.  The ship is still sailing quite fast and the sea days on the longer legs of your itinerary means you have plenty of time to make port.  St. Kitts to St. Thomas is a hop, skip and a jump.

    Thanks...thats what I was hoping.

I wonder when  she makes the move to Ft Laud?...must be soon

It’s much bigger than a boardwalk balcony (by about 100 sqft). We are staying in an ultra spacious on the Harmony in a couple weeks and the layout is the same as the one we stayed in on the Allure. The cabin has bunk beds so it works out well for my family. I’d definitely recommend it!

    Any photos?

I put a bid on an Ultra room too...we are currently in an Ocean Balcony but would rather have the extra space in the room so we aren't tripping over each other.

    Thanks

  10. So I decided to call Royal to ask about the online check in release forms for the on-board activities such as ice skating, rock climbing, etc that does not appear in your online check-in anymore.

The person on the phone had NO IDEA what I was talking about. He asked me every question in the book regarding my reservation and I tried to explain several times...was put on hold several times.

28 minutes later I decided to cut my loses and call it a day...I live to fight, or call another day.

Ahh yes...I forgot how much I missed calling Royal and speaking with their customer care dept.

    I need a drink now.

  11. Just doing online check in for our May Allure cruise...Entered all passport info, credit card info and even uploaded our own security photos but I dont see where you sign all the release forms for the on-board activities...is that not a thing anymore?

Also I have to select an arrival time...is this new?...earliest was 12:30.

Can I arrive earlier and get on board earlier?

    Thanks for the help

@RCL replied back to my Tweet, "No worries.  We haven't canceled even our most upcoming sailings let alone anything in June.  We'll get it fixed ASAP, but the issue isn't impacting her operations at all- Brit"

So let's see how this one goes....

Just saw your Tweet, Thanks...Hopefully Brit is right...famous last words though right...haha

The  other dates sold out right after Oasis has to cancel her three sailings this month.  It seems a lot of those folks moved over to Allure.  I'm on the May 19th sailing.

    Gotcha...thx...I never thought about that.

Hopefully Royal isn't down another ship here soon

Hopefully they announce something official soon

I'm sure its coincidence but I only see the May 26 cruise on RCCL site as being available to book for the month of May.

Or maybe the other dates are sold out so they dont list them?

I wonder how many sailings have received emails about the itinerary changes.

I have not received anything for May 26. I'm worried they will have to cancel some upcoming sailings to fix the issue...

We are May 11 and am wondering the same thing...Been 14 months in the planning so I certainly hope not.
