Don’t get me wrong, I love the Pride but I can’t believe Dr E is going to such a small ship. I thought for sure they’d put him on the new one.

1) people who smoke in non smoking areas
2) people that listen to music without headphones
3) packing up that last night of the cruise

I’m sailing on her in April to Cuba. Glad to hear that she’s in good shape even prior to her dry dock.

Thanks for the pictures and videos! I have my first Cove balcony in October. This made me even more excited!
-
You can also try emailing the maitre’d within a week of your cruise. There’s threads around with the addresses.

I'm looking for a cruise that will take us to HMC. One thing I’ve noticed is that cruises out of Charleston on the Ecstasy are a couple hundred dollars more. Why is that? The Ecstasy isn’t a premium ship, unless I’m missing something.

Congratulations! This type of room is on my bucket list. I’m slowly working my way through different types. Have a Cove and an aft balcony booked right now

I really didn’t like the fact that the sandwiches are all premade and sitting out.

ive always used a TA or PVP to book my cruises. I always cruise in October for my birthday and I saw that October 2019 cruises were now available. I did a mock booking of one and and with the half off deposit sale it was too tempting to not lock it in, especially since it was an aft balcony, which I’ve always wanted to try.
So anyway, this is very dangerous for my pocket book now that I’ve seen how easy it is to book a cruise! :p

I think they’re both lovely and appropriate. You should get your picture taken by the photographers if you wear them!

The Carnival Victory is having an adults only cruise in early February.
Is this an adult cruise or an “adult” cruise with naked people everywhere? No judgement on the naked people, I just don’t think my 75 year old father’s heart could take it.
-
I usually try for just about 5 days before the cruise. As long as your nit in the first day or two of the previous cruise (when they’re sorting through last minute requests), you should be fine.
-
There was one on Black Friday for 10% off. I wonder if they’ll do one for Christmas/New Year’s. I wouldn’t wait to book FTTF though.

One thing I noticed when I cruised the Conquest in October was that they didn’t have discovery anymore and added SpikeTV

Does conquest?
Yep. Cruised in October and they had the new deli and breakfast menus. No baked Alaska yet though.

I really like the French art theme of the decor.

Oh, just remembered one new thing...they changed the photos over to all digital with iPads and facial recognition software. It was super buggy.
-
Definitely new carpets. (They were still installing some when I sailed last week.) Nothing else reall seemed changed, although apparently they did a lot of welding because my waiter said he spent the drydock watching people weld in case of fire.

If I were going to the steakhouse, I would order that exact dinner. One question though. Was the Caesar salad real strong with anchovie taste ? I do not like that taste.
I didn't detect any, and I'm pretty sensitive to fishy tastes.
-
So that's dinner at the steak house. I was generally opposed to pay restaurants on cruise ships because I think it encourages more up charges by the lines, but this was really really good. I figure we paid about the same for that as we would FTTF (which we get) or bottomless bubbles (which we do not.). It's all what you decide is important to you.

SURPRISE ENDING! Our waiter came over with the cheese tray and said he talked to the chef and we could have cheese too. How nice! Now, I like cheese, but be aware that some of these are - shall we say - aggressive. So so good though.

Finally - dessert time! I didn't eat all day because I was bound and determined that I was gonna make it to dessert without declaring defeat.
I opted for the cheesecake which was HUGE. I was thinking chocolate sampler, but it didn't look great. I also asked for the cheese plate because (a) I was gonna get my money's worth and (b) you don't get this fat only eating one dessert. Unfortunately you're only allowed one dessert.

Now for the main course. I got the filet mignon - medium well since I'm a heathen. They butterflied it so it wouldn't burn. One of the best steaks I've ever had - so tender and flavorful that I didn't bother dipping it in the bernaise.
Baked potato. It was a potato. I wish they hadn't combined the chives and the bacon since I hate the former but live the latter. Oh well, I ate enough bacon on this cruise that I can go without one night.
Shout out to the broccoli for letting me pretend that I was eating healthy.

Salad number two - tomatoes with crumbled Gorgonzola. It was a bit too peppery for my taste and I wouldn't dare order when tomatoes were not in season, but still good.
Uh oh...I'm starting to get full!

Panama Canal Which room would you choose?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
I would choose the bigger balcony in the back for the lock passage. I’m doing a Panama Canal cruise next year and chose an aft extended specifically for that reason.
