I've read that there are a limited number of passes available per cruise for the Spa. How challenging is it to get these? It doesn't look like you can get them ahead of time.

The Museum of Fine Art is fantastic and nearby the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum is quirky but fascinating, too.

Nassau has tons of non-water options. We discovered a couple of years ago free online self-guided walking tours which we have done in a few places now, Nassau included. The historic churches, library that used to be a jail, Queen's Staircase, government buildings etc. were quite interesting. A tour at Graycliff chocolatier is also cool. I know Nassau gets a bad rap and that's too bad.
So glad to hear your input. My reading on Nassau gives me lots of ideas of what to do. We love exploring history.

I have a similar question -- might be the same answer. Our agent included Special Request, Birthday by each of our names. (We're both turning a "special" birthday) Does anyone care, or do anything with those special requests?

Here's a thread I started a week or so ago --- you might find it useful too. LOTS of great ideas here!

I will do that when I fill it in a bit more. I've been so busy lately, I need to focus a bit more on May 2017 than 2018.
Soon!

Thanks everyone for these great suggestions. I started a spreadsheet with some of your ideas.

Oh, not bad at all! Thank you!

Though we're not sailing for another year, (Gem to Bahamas) I'm trying to be sure we've budgeted enough for the extras we may want.
What is the approximate cost for some of these classes?

Doesn't look like a sunny day to hang at a beach.
The food looks great!

I am so excited to follow this thread! We are taking the exact trip in 363 days, and will also be on Deck 8. Thanks for sharing your photos and experience!

I love these suggestions. I'll start a Google Sheets doc soon. (I would LOVE to do it right now, but darn work gets in the way!)
Our trip is NYC to Bahamas and back, and we will probably do something very simple in both Port Canaveral (beach) and Nassau. We're more interested in history, the real feel of the town than in going to Atlantis.
Thanks!

We have booked our first-ever cruise for April 2018. My former event-planning career background creates an urge to do all the planning right now. And it's not like we don't have several non-cruise trips planned for THIS year; we haven't fleshed out all details for those!
I'm curious to see how experienced cruisers plan out their trip ---
1. Do you put all your to-dos in a spreadsheet? (it's second nature for me)
2. How early to you plan your excursions?
3. How early to make hotel reservations for the night prior to sailing?
4. Best ways of organizing your paperwork?
5. What other bits should I consider?
Any tips on the logistics of planning out the tasks are appreciated. I've seen plenty of info on packing tips, what excursions, hotels, etc. so I know there are plenty of resources for those type of questions.
Thanks for your tips and best-practice tips!

Oh great! We're a mere 332 days away, so 242 days until I can get it. (I could go for some of that spa stuff right now!)
