I assume it is OK for us to make jokes about America changing its political code of conduct with your President??? LOL
MODs perhaps you would like to delete this post and the one I quoted
FWIW folks, I protested my own (this) post in the hope that the MODs will use my post to help them understand why elfinmagic's post is offensive and respond accordingly by deleting both posts.
Sorry - I guess you don't know what LOL means - it means I was joking - sorry if it offended you and BTW I did vote for Trump and am happy with him

I don't think Princess ships have any British plugs. They have American plugs (110-120 volts) and European plugs (220-240 volts) only.
The British plugs have three prongs. The ones with two round prongs are European - not British.
Did they change their electrical system with Brexit??? LOL

Internet in your cabin is iffy - it depends how close you are to a repeater which are in the hallway

When you buy an FCC onboard you do not have to book a specific cruise. I usually buy 2 and 2 blind cruises and use them when I later book with my TA. I never book directly with Princess - always with my TA. Better price, all of the Princess OBC plus OBC from the TA plus the FCC OBC and CCL stock OBC. I always end up with unused credit.

The pub lunch has more than fixh and chips - often shrimp, cottage pie, plowmans lunch, scotch eggs - and good deserts. It is on (not all)sea days

Outlets are 220 - if you want to plug in chargers most will accept 110 or 220 in which case you will just need a cheap adapter - these are only on the lamps. there are US 110 receptacles on the desk.

Overcooked - will not do it again

There is a way to become elite before even taking a Princess cruise and your first cruise will be free. Become a TA and take the Commodores course online.

My math was wrong we would have to take over 70 cruises to get our investment back.
CCL also pays a dividend - not sure what it is currently

You might want to talk to your cardiologist about a pacemaker

Doors are usually open at noon - we used to go early and wait in a crowded room - we found that now if we get to the port by 12:30 we are in our room before 1:00

Sailed on not-so-Grand Princess in June. Food was lukewarm, unappetizing and Salvation Army quality. And taking away trays from the buffet to cut down on food consumption was the final insult. 18th and maybe last Princess cruise.
MARVIN SCHWARTZ
We rarely use the buffet but do not remember them ever having trays - next time order room service and keep the tray
BTW - we will miss you

I agree that food quality anywhere is subjective and is particular to an individuals dining habits, but here is my opinion.
We have over 500 days on Princess on all ships including the original loveboat and except the Sapphire and Majestic since 1996. I have found that the food quality has not deteriorated and the menus have been changing more often lately although I do miss the allways available steak medallions and Salmon.I have only sent one dinner back and DW has sent maybe three, one of which she sent back because what I had looked better.
We always take anytime dining and try to get a table with the same waitstaff.
We wanted to try Celebrity so we once booked a 7 day Celebrity followed by two 7 day Princess. The food in the MDR on Celebrity bordered on just edible, either well done and dry or smothered in gravy.

I did this once a while back but do not know if it still works - can anyobe reply?

Yes, if a priest is onboard they will let him say mass, however, it has been my experience (we know a retired priest who has done it) Princess does not give him much help setting and they will take his collection money to give to the charity of their choice.

Ever think they might not appreciate being seated with you. Are you sure you were reseated because of your complaint or theirs. Never heard that kind of statement out of anyone at a table. Could it be you said something to them about how they were dressed?
Can't leave it alone eh?

We always do the Caribbean in March on b2b ten day cruises on the Royal - weather is good and not a lot of kids. Usually you will find more kids on the seven day cruises.
-
Luckily it isn't highly publicized other wise there would be dozens of them each night.
They still don't irk me as much as the "reservation people".
"reservation system for AT dining" - It has been my experience that you cannot make reservations for anytime - when you call in the morning they give you a choice of 5 or 5:30 and 7 or 7:30 which may vary by ship - in other words you cannot make reservations for 6:30 or 6:45 or any odd time.
-
The first couple of evenings cruise cards are checked at the entrance to AT dining rooms to make sure passengers are at the correct dining room. On those evenings, a traditional diner trying to enter an anytime dining room will be directed to the assigned traditional dining room.
After the first two evenings Princess assumes that adult passengers will act maturely and go to their assigned dining room.
Maybe with the Medallion system the employees at the entrance to the anytime dining rooms will be notified anytime a TD passenger tries to enter.
You are correct - maybe with the medallion system they will have an electronic detection that will activate a robot to grab and throw TDs out automatically

Most of the $10 items on sale can be bought anytime in the regular stores for $9.95

We always book b2b and we tell the agent we are on two cruises - they let us take two bottles of wine each - on our last b2b we had 8 bottles of wine and they all went thru without sending us to the table??
I also will buy a bottle of vodka on the last day of the first cruise and they let me carry it to my room
-
My experience with Princess regarding so called upgrades is often a downgrade - We experienced this twice and had to have our TA interfere and change it - we now book the cabin we want and tag our booking as No Upgrade
-
Thanks, I will check on roll call. However, you can make dining reservations in advance online. :) This is why I wanted to know.
If you are in traditional dining your reservation has already been made - if you are in anytime dining you have to make reservations each morning
-
Good information. I did go into my account and although some of the OBC was listed, none were marked "refundable or nonrefundable." Could that be because I have not made final payment? The TA OBC is not listed. We booked with a big box warehouse store.
That is strange - we have two 10 day b2b for next March and the show TA OBC and Promotional OBC and tells that neither is refundable??

Talk to the Maitre De on day one - he usually meets in the unused dining room about 1;30 - I am sure he will accomodate you
