  1. Brilliant, Dachs! I think this is the window/mirror in the bathroom of a SS! The set up looks just like the SS's. Yay, it looks like at least one SS is facing the sea! Hopefully it is mine!! :D

You can see the mirror/window here and the layout looks the same.

    Thanks

Do you have anything on the S2 accessible

    Thanks jc

  2. Yes, all the Sky Suites have traditional outside balconies. The dimensions are as follows:

S1 aft - 299 sq ft with 163 sq ft balcony

S2 - 319 sq ft with 79 sq ft balcony

S3 - 298 sq ft with 102 sq ft balcony

Accessible S2 - 418 sq ft with 99 sq ft balcony (sorry, Getty, couldn't find a picture to see if bed faces the ocean)

The S1 mid-ship balconies are the mystery, but I suspect they are similar to the S2's (79 sq ft). Here is a picture of S1 balconies on 10 and S2 balconies on 9 mid-ship. They appear to be the same size to me.

    I appreciate the effort

  3. So true about that. To pay that much and not even get a recliner or lounger would not be cool for some. They hyped and put a lot of emphasis on how good and nice the suites will be. So let's hope they come through with what they showed on renderings/videos or better for the final product.

Also, if the final product does not look or up to par with what they represented and with what avid Celebrity cruisers are use to having, some who have booked Sky Suites and not made final payment may contemplate changing cabin categories.

I am on an S2 accessible and pay almost $12 for two and I don’t care about the chairs but the size of the cabin. Wait and enjoy your cruise.

  4. Sky Suite or Infinite Balcony doesn't matter - the balcony chairs so not appear to be adjustable. I think they are making the space look more like it belongs in the cabin and less like the balcony lounge chairs we are used to.

Wish they were adjustable because I always used them as a great place to almost lie flat and get some rays or catch a nap, especially when foot stools were included.

I believed that the non suite cabins are really not much larger, but the infinity balcony makes them looks larger and in closing is all about marketing because the cheapest suite is $6k. Most suites do not have infinity an balcony.

  5. Way to much negativity by so many. Change can be a good thing. Lloyds photo's have been spectacular but a photo only shows so much. I can't imagine there will be that much less storage than in the past. Celebrity has always done of creating a great cruise experience. I believe this ship wil be no different. I for one will always make the best of any cruise that I am on. Like many previous cruises I hear people say how dissatisfied with the service my wife and I look at each other and say they must be on a different ship. I can't wait to get on this spectacular new ship 4/14/2019. Again Lloyd thanks again

    Ditto

  6. All the ships I have been on for the past 10 years or more have all had that alternating design where the portion with the bed is wider than the living area... I think that is standard. From what I saw on a video... one thing they did was to move the structural wall from the exterior to the interior wall of the cabin... that means there is less steel around the window... helping to bring in more light. One nice thing with the dull neutral colors is that they can brighten and periodically change it up by adding brightly colored pillows and that runner they tend to have at the end of the bed. That electrical box really bugs me. It really looks like someone messed up and this was an after thought so they could keep that sliding out table.

One idea for storage for the next ship... is to have the art piece be designed so that it could be opened up and shelves fold down... so that you could use it for storage or just an art piece. Kinda like the way TVs over fireplace can be hidden by a piece of art. There is just so much little stuff that doesn't belong in the bathroom storage and not necessarily in drawer either. Cameras', binoculars, lap tops, books, CPAP bag, sunglasses, hats, etc. I have never felt the need to packing storage stuff or magnets for hanging stuff on the walls. I am not the neatest person at home... but I really don't like having my cabin look like a dump with stuff stacked up on the sofa because there is no other place for it. With that said.... surely they know this... I am counting on secret storage in the rounded corner near closet. One other comment. What I really liked about some Royal ships and S class. Is the rounded ends of the bed... that add space and do you really need that corner for sleeping? Also... many of the pieces of furniture are also rounded.. Nice not to have pointed corners to run in during high seas.. so I am surprised that they did not round the edges of some of these pieces.

    Great comment

But, they have no outlets throughout except the box ?

This is minimal design from Europe 1930’s. So they will have of arts and colored pillows, like they do in all there ships.

  7. Since this will be my first Celebrity cruise, I have no way to make a valid comparison on some things being discussed. As I have said, I think the ship overall is beautiful and I like that Celebrity is doing something different.

I have seen many references to S Class though here. So for those of you that have sailed on Celebrity S Class, RCI Quantum Class and TUI Mein Schiff Class (steamboat and others), what are your thoughts? What are the glaring pluses and missed opportunities?

You will enjoy it as it’s higher end product, but not stuffy. The crowd does not go sleep at 10pm either. Different and the edge is different by itself, specially with the price.

Thanks for the photo. Looks like our S2 will be one of those with the pillar/wall as part of the balcony.

Best I can tell, this will not terribly affect us as we were planning not trying to open our balcony to share with a neighboring cabin. It will simply give us a wall rather than a divider between our cabin and our neighbor. Our view will still be there and we can see fine when we look over our balcony railing, much the same as if we had a divider next to us.

Interestingly, I moved our cabin choice from a midship cabin to this location to be closer to the retreat area due to mobility limitations. Figured I would at least visit the pool, lounge, and easier to get to Luminae.

In any case, thanks for posting the pix and circling the pillar. This way less of a surprise when we board.

    I think I am near you, s2, 11123, handicap

We are near an elevator, front

    Thanks jc
