  1. I am wondering about something. The cabins appear to be run by smart phone apps. Everything from getting into your cabin to adjusting lights appear to be managed on your phone. So, if you don't sign up for wifi... does that mean you can't use the app? Suppose you are old school and don't use a smart phone... is there a back up old school system like sea-pass to get into the cabin? Now I appreciate technology as much as the next person, but I have no problem getting up and going over to the thermostat or light switch. I don't exercise much as it is... getting off my behind periodically is part of my daily routine.

Good question and agree with you. In a video posted by a travel agent t appears to have an alternative, pressing a box after you are inside the cabin.

  2. Lloyd, as always great progress pics and thanks for posting!

One thing that stood out to me in this picture is it looks like the Cosmo is three levels. Anyone else see this or am I misinterpreting something in the picture?c3fecb426a6ab97c4a1d4f8eb40fdc71.jpg

Yes and perhaps more, just like in the solstice class. I also see half a floor where the scaffold are located

  3. which doesn't seem like that much time when you look at the interiors! and to think, all the electrical and moving parts need to function correctly and reliably. just seems like a huge undertaking to be done that quickly.

Yes the electrical and infracstatural takes the longest. Finishes and esthetics are quick. Some times they crew takes care of the esthetic as they cross the pond.

  4. Accessability for the hot tubs will be a bit challenging, I agree, but maybe it was to discourage some bad hot tub etiquette? I personally never use them (ever notice someone who's been drinking but also sitting in a hot tub for longggg periods of time, never getting out to go to the bathroom? point made...) however of course there will be sensible ways to get up there. Not as easy from pool to hot tub and vice versa, but there's no doubt their intentions were to save desk space with this design. I took the plans from deck 14, 15, and 16 and put them together so that they matched up as to where access would be. There's definitely stairs leading from 14 up to 16, but it will no longer be easy access from pool to hot tub due to them being on a different deck. In addition there's more stairwells located towards the rear hot tub on deck 15, but they're not showing on deck 16 (those on the port side of the ship). On the aft image I highlighted the stairs I noticed from 14 all the way up to 16, but yes, they are on the other side of the ship away from the hot tubs.

Great analysis and I most likely will neve4 used them either.

  5. My guess is there are several coats of Spray painting that continues to be done; the tarp covering is likely an environmental code requirement as well as keeping any "foreign outside materials" and birds/insects from interfering with the painting applications.

Thanks and agree. But have you noticed that the blue that she has now is deferent them on the latest renderin, more like the original presentations.

  6. It looks fantastic. I love that so many cruise lines are really upgrading the terminal experience. It is your first impression. NCL and Royal are both building spectacular game changing terminals at PortMiami. They will truly add to the Miami skyline. MSC just did a major revamp of Terminal F there as well. Princess just completely upgraded Terminal 2 at Port Everglades, and now Celebrity with this. Of course we also have Royal’s Terminal 18 for the Oasis Class which really raised the bar I think. It’s not an architectural masterpiece but it’s a study in efficiency.

Thank for the rendering as it looks awesome

  7. Yes, and we love her too. We haven’t sailed on Equinox since her Inaugural in 2009, our last 4 cruises have been on Reflection. The first time we met Katya she was a waiter in Luminae. On our last 2 cruises on Reflection Katya has been the Luminae Hostess.

She was great on equinox, I will be glad to see her

  8. Good thing I don't have peanut allergies since I am indeed "commenting from the peanut gallery". :p

As I said in a previous thread, I have some engineering background and enjoy watching such large machines take form. I have followed the construction of each Solstice class ships, as well as several other recent ship builds. I am always fascinated by the way they construct such behemoths. That is why I am following this particular thread, the only Edge thread I read every day. Although disappointed in certain aspects of Edge, including the enlarged emphasis on exclusive areas for suite passenger, I am still enjoying the photos and details of her construction.

There are areas I do like, such as the decoration of the various restaurants and other common areas we have been shown so far, but there are other areas that I find diverge too far from the Celebrity I have known for many years. At the moment I have no interest in cruising on her. But, who knows, perhaps I will change my mind after she has been active for a while and reviews and reports start coming in that give a broader idea of what she is really made of.

I am sorry, but you sound like you have a major secret and can not reveal. This scares me.
