  1. My DW and I had our first cruise last year and like many of you we are sooo addicted!! Me especially, I even watch the port cams on the weekends. We now have 2 more booked one in September and one for next October. I told my wife I'll give up my other hobbies to cruise more lol.

  2. I really dont know much about this sort of thing, but I have been told that one of my grandmothers had psychic ability, and that I seem to have inherited some to those. Not sure really, but, when i was much younger, I had some very strange experiences, having heard the voices of departed relatives and some other strange occurances. As I got older, I tended to shut those things, feelings, and things out, but occasionally I just dont seem to be able to completely block some things, and at some times when I have been in troubling situations, I seem to have been guided strangely enough out of those.

My point is that I think some of us may have an extra sense that others dont, or that some of us , like myself dont choose to cultivate, and sometimes we are the ones that experience these sort of things, like OP. Some who are not frightened can find ways to deal with such experiences, but I am not one of them. I am interested and tempted but am a bit frightened still. I am however still more intrigued and interested however than frightened.

So maybe the ghost appearances were because she was one of those who had the "open" mind to the paranormal?

    dont know but just pondering.

Not joking at all, but you really need to get in contact with a medium. That person will help you understand and control your gift

  3. The slip that the Breeze docks at usually has the breezeway attached at deck 3, not the lowest deck. About a month ago the breezeway wasn't functioning so they brought Freedom & Breeze pax in through the bottom of the ship but it was repaired a few weeks ago. They've been boarding via the breezeway since. Even yesterday Freedom used it. But this morning, as the OP mentioned, they're not using it and people are debarking on ground level.

I'm not sure what's up- if the breezeway is acting up again or not.

On a separate note does anyone know the reasoning behind why most of the time, Breeze and Freedom back into the slip, but every now and then they drive straight in? I've been watching it for months, and I'm not sure I get why... doesn't seem to be related to weather or anything. I was just wondering if someone knows why.

I was thinking the same thing. We were on freedom last September and we embarked the other way it's been coming in. My 2 theory's would be 1 that the ship can only leave or enter the port in 1 direction now or 2, if you watch when they leave the ship does like a full spin when it turns around so maybe it gives the passengers a cool view of the port when leaving.. or just trying to make everyone dizzy.. lol

  4. Triumph is the only ship that we have been invited to a tasting of the menu. My DH I were escorted to the galley where every item from the menu that night was lined up for us to taste. The chef was with us as we tasted. At each item we were provided a new fork. It was just myself and DH with the chef and 2 other Carnival employees. This was on our 25th Carnival cruise and a fantastic surprise.

  5. This was our door decoration. We decorate our door every single cruise! I let the girls pick something out from the dollar store and we use 3M command hooks to hang it.

I had read about this balloon drop in someone else's review of the Conquest, and then we just happened to see them getting ready to drop. It's a raffle for the spa I think? Or maybe jewelry? Whoever wants to participate blows up a balloon and puts their name inside. Once the balloons are dropped, they pick a winner.....but I guess after the winner is picked they let everyone pop the balloons? Because the review I read said the floor became slippery with spit from the balloons. EW!!!

Tea Time! It's at 3pm on seadays but hidden in the Funtimes. It's not listed in the "what's happening" section, but is in the Food section under "hungry for more". For the past 2 yrs now, you have to purchase your own tea bag if you want something different than black tea or green tea. Used to, they'd come around with a box of all kinds and give you your pick. The desserts were nice, especially the scones! You aren't seated alone anymore either. They set up a couple big tables and just fill them up as people arrive. I bet there weren't more than 15 people in there. I really feel they're trying to phase out tea time.

Oh the slide.....such a disappointment! Slowest slide EVER. The kids gave it a try on the first day and again on the last. No change, still slow!

  6. So I'm watching the port cam of the freedom and I see 4 police go in and I was thinking maybe customs to make sure nothing comes off the ship that shouldn't. Nope they come out 10 minutes later with 2 guys in cuffs! Lol soo if anyone that was dembarking from the freedom knows what happened that would be a good story! Side note how do you get off down at the bottomffac73cd0211b056876fc1c88e37f872.jpgffac73cd0211b056876fc1c88e37f872.jpg

  7. Looks like you have already gotten some great advice. As for bringing some little things, a small fan, and your own cup, I bring my yetti and can have my water, coffee or lemonade anytime. If you do bring a cup bring a little dish soap and a sponge to wash it out. We also bring a travel steamer to get wrinkles out. And like another had said a small first aid kit. With pepto and antacid.

As far as over packing it's all a personal thing but remember that you have limited space and there's a laundromat on board.

  8. You wore a packers jersey on elegant night? !?! That does not meet the dress code as stated, so please don't encourage the OP to disregard the rules.

Question - why not just dress appropriately for dinner and then change into the jersey after dinner for the bar?

I had a collared shirt under it and I wore it cause they were on that night! And packer game day is a whole day thing. Gotta be a packer fan to understand that part I guess.

I was simply stating that you don't have to wear a suit on formal night

  9. We sailed on the freedom last September and I can tell you that you don't have to dress up for formal nights. One night was a Sunday night and I wore my packer jersey and pants and nobody said anything to me.. except for my wife.. and I did wear shorts to the MDR a few nights with a collared shirts and nothing was said. From what I understand is as for MDR no flip flops and no sleeveless shirts. So I would say you guys would be fine all week with what you posted you would wear

  10. We did a b2b on the Splendor last summer. We chose this ship because it had different itineraries each week and we were booked in the same cabin for the course of the two weeks.

If I have to single one thing out that I liked best about the b2b was the fact that we didn't have to pack and leave the next morning. While most folks were probably wishing they didn't have to leave, we didn't. It was a relaxing two weeks.

There were 3 other couples on the ship who were on for one more week, and one of the couples was actually cruising for three weeks, although her husband said he wished he was leaving and didn't have to stay:)

Well there's obviously something wrong with that guy then!! Lol

  11. If I order stuff from the continental breakfast for the husband and hang the sign on the door, how do I go about adding pb&j sandwiches for the kid? Do I just call and ask them to bring it all together?

Also, when you order cereal, do they automatically bring a milk or do you order the milk separately?

Yes still mark that you want milk. Also, I have sugar with my coffee so if you want sugar or another condiment write it in and they will bring it . Ps I put 30 packets of sugar and they brought it
