Are you coming in on cruise ship?  Usually they aren't in St. Croix during hurricane season but perhaps this year is different.

I would think that you could find a taxi van (almost all STX taxis are vans) at the foot of the pier and could arrange for him to take you to both places (which are only a few miles a part and both on the Melvin Evans Highway).  Here are the rates I found:

Yes we are arriving on  a cruise ship on Aug. 15th. At least as of right now that is. We shall see how this hurricane season goes. Thanks for the information.

  2. We will be in St Croix in August. We would like to visit both Leatherback brewery as well as the Captain Morgan distillery. Was looking on info about renting a taxi for the day to take our group.of 6 to these 2 locations. Would this be doable and if so would you know the rates at this time? Thank you..

When will you be in port?   We are doing this tour in April.  I read some great reviews on Trip Advisor.

We will be in port in August. I was looking at getting a cab to get there versus taking the cruise tour. Would love to hear your views of the tour when you return from your visit.

  4. This is my 2nd time sailing on RCI. I usually sail on Carnival but the itinerary was one I haven't been on yet. So on Carnival I am able to purchase up to a $1000 of on board credit per cabin which equates to $500 for the bar and $500 for miscellaneous on board expenses. I was wondering if you can do the same on Royal Carribbean ships also. I use my credit card for all other expenses after that credit is exhausted and I don't really want to pay for the drink package because I drink but not enough during the day to justify the expense of the package. All responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The train ride from Seward to Anchorage is incredibly scenic - one of the most scenic trains I have taken in the US. I would make sure to include that.

We saw a video about that leg of the trip after the cruise and will most likely be doing that train ride also.

  7. Thanks for all the recommendations from everyone. We booked our 2024 7 night Alaska trip leaving from Vancouver to Seward. I have searched the internet and am able to book the rail excursion that takes you to Denali which is the train my wife really wants to take which leaves from Anchroage to Denali through the tour company directly. I was also looking at the rail excursion in Skagway also. We always travel with passports no matter where we go when leaving the US so we will look at that excursion also.

  8. We are in the planning stages of our 2024 Alaska bucket list cruise. We are looking at cruiselines and itineraries to see what will fit into what we would like to see and do since this is our first time cruising Alaska. My wife's only request is that she wants to go on an excursion on a train that has the glass top. Has anyone gone on this train excursion and if so could you let me know what cruiseline you used and if it is cruiseline specific or is it port specific to be able to do this excursion? Thanks in advance for all input.

  9. I just sailed on the Magic for Christmas and during brunch the waiters brought a healthy option specialty drink menu around. I didn't get a picture of it and my wife really liked one of the drinks she got and I am trying to see if anyone may be able to get a picture of that menu so we can see what's in the drink so she is able to make it while at home. Thanks in advance.

  10. We are avid cruisers but have sailed mainly Carnival. We have completed one 4 day Bahamas Cruie with Royal about 7 years ago. We choose this ship due to the itinerary. We are sailing 8/12/23 to Tortola, BVI, St. Croix, USVI and Coco Cay. We haven't been to any of these islands as of yet. We have booked 2 connecting promenade rooms on deck 7. We would like to know what you liked about the ship as well as what you didn't like about the ship. We are excited about trying out this ship and itinerary. Thanks in advance for your input.

  11. My wife is a non-drinker also so I have always purchased the Bar Cash. I use the entire amount on my account because I figure about how many drinks that gets me a day and that's usually my daily limit on vacation anyway. So for me it works out and if I go over then I'm not spending very much out of pocket at the end of my cruise.

  12. We sre headed to Saint Martin on our Christmas cruise this year and while I was looking online for things to do in port, The Rusty Parrot came up as something fun to do with kids. Has anyone gone to this museum and if so what was your experience? Thank you in advance. Also, did you book your tickets in advance or buy your tickets once you arrived at the museum?
