  1. We sre headed to Saint Martin on our Christmas cruise this year and while I was looking online for things to do in port, The Rusty Parrot came up as something fun to do with kids. Has anyone gone to this museum and if so what was your experience? Thank you in advance. Also, did you book your tickets in advance or buy your tickets once you arrived at the museum?

  2. I will be on the Magic on December 23rd and was wondering either all of the price increases happening, how it has affected the drink prices. I am mainly a beer drinker snd usually stick with Pig and Anchor products but I do partake in other brands while on board. If anyone may have a menu to share that would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Greerings everyone! We had a question on anyone's experience with cruising on Royal Carribbean with their service dog and the documents needed for the British Virgin Islands. We took our daughters Service Dog Teddy to the Bahamas in 2019 right before COVID started in 2020. That trip was on a Carnival 4 day Christmas cruise. Teddy did well on his first cruise but we did struggle with the location and size of the potty area for him since he is a 70 pound dog. We were looking at a 2023 cruise on Royal Carribbean that takes us to both St. Croix USVI and Tortola BVI as well as their private island in the Bahamas. Any and all info is greatly appreciated on your experience. Thank you in advance.

  4. We cruised in 2019 with our service dog which is my daughter's service dog. We had another dog on board which was a service dog but when our dog saw their dog you could tell who was trained and who wasn't trained. The other dog began to bark at our service dog and our dog just looked away as he should have. Many people asked about him and we were always open about what he does for our daughter. People would always ask his name and we won't tell them so they wouldn't try to call him if they saw him on the ship because while we were out of our cabin he was working and when we were in our cabin he was as we call "semi off duty". He is always working to help our daughter with the tasks he has been trained to do. I just find it amazing that so many people want to claim fake service dogs for their benefit but they just don't get it why it's harmful to those that have legitimate service dogs.

  5. I was wondering if anyone has brought with them a safety rail for the toilet on the cruise for their bathroom or does the cruise line provide one? My daughter has a safety rail attached to her toilet at home and we were looking at purchasing one for travel but didn't know if that is something that we would be able to bring on board. Thank you all for your thoughts.

  6. I am excited to return to cruising in 2022. Just booked an 8 night Eastern Caribbean on the Magic over Christmas week next year. It's been a long 2 years without cruising and cannot wait to get back on the Magic. We decided to book that far out to see where COVID takes cruising over the next year. I'm starting to read reviews again on this site as I stopped due to the depression that was setting in due to not being able to cruise. Happy Holidays to everyone and cruise safe!

  7. Our March 2021 cruise on the Magic has been canceled and now what to do with our FCC. I was wondering if I would be able to book a B2B cruise and if I did how would it affect how the OBC is assigned? Would they assign the OBC to only the 1st cruise and not the 2nd cruise? Thanks for everyone's input.

  8. Our cruise has now been canceled for the 2nd time. I have a cruise booked on the Mardis Gras in May 2022. I want to move the money from my Magic cruise that was just canceled over to that cruise. Is this possible? Also, to complicated things a little more. The magic cruise was booked by my wife and the Mardis Gras cruise was booked under my name. We are both on the cruise so will that make a difference when trying to move the money over to the other booked cruise? Thanks for the info.

  9. I'm in Central Florida and things are going ok. Except that the theme parks are all closed, the beaches are closed, restaurants are carry out or delivery only. We now have a curfew from 11pm to 5am daily which started 2 days ago and is in effect until further notice. Grocery stores close early to sterilize and restock items, certain items you can only buy 1 or 2 of per household. The only good thing is that I am still working and the weather is beautiful and we can at least go outside in our community and go for a walk. So we are not confined to just being indoors all the time and as long as it stays nice and hit we are able to go swimming in our pool. So I can at least act like I'm on a cruise sitting by the pool. Stay safe everyone!

  10. So I am scheduled to cruise on 7/5 on the Horizon. I was wondering if Carnival was going to extend the cancellation policy past May and into the summer months. I received an email last night from Carnival with the following information.

The following applies only to guests who booked on or before March 10, 2020.

    • Guests who choose to keep their booking, as currently scheduled, for departures June through September, 2020, will receive the following onboard credit (OBC) amount:
      • US$50, per cabin, for 2 – 5 day sailings
      • US$100, per cabin, for 6 day sailings and longer

If you choose to continue to sail with us, we will automatically apply your onboard credit to your Sail & Sign account. There is no need to call us.

    • You may also cancel up to 30 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Any cancellation charges will be held as a future cruise credit (FCC) to be redeemed on a cruise within one year of your original sailing*.
      • If your reservation included Fly2Fun air, any monies paid for your air fare will be included in your FCC.  If you purchased independent air, please contact your airline carrier as they are being flexible with change fees.
      • Any pre-purchased Carnival shore excursions, specialty dining/spa or Fun Shop orders will be automatically canceled and refunds will be processed to your original form of payment by your bank within three weeks.
      • We are experiencing higher call volume than usual and are currently focused on assisting guests sailing March and April, 2020.  We encourage you to contact your travel advisor, Carnival Personal Vacation Planner, or access “My Cruise Manager” on Carnival.com to cancel your reservation.  Any penalties will be held in your account as a FCC.  You may also get answers to Frequently Asked Questions here.

My final payment is due on April 11th. I am still on the fence and am hoping for better news as we move through into the summer months but now it's good to know as of last night I have the ability to cancel and get the FCC and rebook a cruise.

Such a handsome dog.  I have found Carnival to be very helpful when it comes to our dogs.  They will allow the pottybox on your veranda.  You just have to insist on it.

The more Teddy uses a potty box at home the more used to using a potty box he will become.  And, going in one onboard a cruise ship will be no problem.   Carnival uses the best boxes; pre-made and purchased online.  They're made of metal, lined with plastic and filled with mulch.

For your home box you can buy whatever filler you like best.  Lowe's sells [wood shavings], in bulk, you can cover whatever you choose with artificial turf, or, if the mulch is easy to walk on, use it straight from the container.  And, practice, practice, practice.  My dogs ONLY USE A POTTY BOX AT HOME.  It makes them to be the best travelers when cruising.

My suggestion is to check on the filler that is being used by the ship, before you ask the dog to use it, if it hurts the dog's paws they will refuse to step on it, because it hurts.  I ALWAYS bring rolled-up artificial turf to cover whatever the cruiselines use.  I buy it at Lowe's in 4x4 sections, I cut drainage holes in it, fold it up and bring a fresh sheet in my suitcase.

The first thing I do is lay the plastic turf over whatever the ship is using as filler and then ask my dog to go potty.  It travels very easily and my dogs NEVER refuse to step on it.

Traveling with our dogs is really up to us to make it fun for them too!!!!

Thank you for the info. We did contact the cruise line prior to leaving and actually bought the litter they use in the potty box. We also took the green grass pad for.him . I think one of his issues was our pottybox at home does not make Teddy step up.higher than usual. I am going.to build one that has the same dimensions of the one on the ship. We have 6 months to work.on him till.our next cruise.

  12. Happy Holidays to everyone. We just returned from our family Christmas Cruise on the Carnival Liberty. So I will start with the good from the trip. This was the first cruise we took with my daughters service dog. This was an eye opener as far as how he would be on a cruise. Teddy seemed to enjoy the cruise for the most part. We as a whole enjoyed ourselves. The crew was very helpful during the cruise. They were very accommodating in how they treated us from embarkation to debatkation. Teddy was able to explore Nassau and Princess Cay which we had no issues getting off of the ship due to the information we received from everyone here. So the one part of the cruise that was stressful was that Teddy out of 4 days on a ship only used the potty area 2 times. He held until he got off the ship and then he went to the bathroom 2 or 3 times. The only complaint we had was the area they had placed the potty on the 3rd deck where people could be at. All in all we shall see about our future ceuise in July and hopefully we can go with us now.

  13. So we are packing for our first ceuuse with my daughters service dog..Thank you to everyone that has provided invaluable information to get everything taken care of as far as the permit from the Bahamas. Looks like we have everything covered but I did have 1 more question that my wife brought up. Am I going to need the USDA APHIS form to reenter the U.S.? My vet is wanting to complete the form but I cannot see anywhere written that this is needed for the Bahamas or for reentry into the U.S. I am going to the vet in the morning to have the Bahamas Health Certificate completed and I am wanting to ensure that I do not need anything else for our return.  Again, thanks to everyone for their input.
