  1. Wow! Thanks so much for the prompt and informational reply! Love these boards. Susan
  2. We're headed to Singapore from Long Beach. We've ordered a bottle of gin to have in our room, BUT I am wondering what liquor/grocery stores might be most likely to sell tonic water IN CANS, for us to take on board. I know grocery stores in CA sell liquor and tonic water, but it's a little tricky to find cans. Does anyone know which store(s) are most likely to have the largest selection of tonic water? I will call the stores to confirm before we go, and may end up just having some sent to the Queen Mary via amazon, which is much more expensive, but doable. Thanks.
  3. We will be visiting Guam on a Sunday, so am looking for things to do. We'll be in port from 9:00-6:00, so we have a full day to take advantage of the island. Just not sure where to start! Thanks for any advice.
  4. While you won't get anything 'exotic' on this tour, we had a wonderful guide and learned about the history of OSJ. They may also be able to direct you to where you might find the foods you're looking for. Highly recommend this company. https://sanjuanfoodtours.com/
  5. We just returned from St. Kitts/Nevis and did this tour: https://www.bluewatersafaris.com/nevis-beach-getaway-from-st-kitts We had about 10 on a small motor boat that picked you up at the cruise terminal. Took a quick, 25 minute trip over to Nevis where all but the three of us got off the boat to do a Plantation Tour then Beach Break. We were taken to Pinney Beach where there were chairs and umbrellas waiting for us. Spent about three hours on the beach there, with a wonderful lunch and bar set up (extra charge), but Ebony was fantastic, she took good care of us. There is a roped off swimming area, and the chairs were at the water's edge. Just lovely. The beach is literally 50 feet from the Four Seasons Beach and Resort (and you can help yourself to their wifi). The boat came and picked us up, and back to St. Kitts we went, with time to wander the port shops. Recommend!

  7. Just returned from a stop in GT. The 'free' chair area was crazy busy with the water being full of people and the chairs in great demand. Especially the free chairs. Do yourself a favor and walk down to Jack's. We got there about 9:45 and were the fourth people there. Chairs at the water's edge (NO seaweed) and the water was perfectly calm and beautiful. It was early, so had a Diet Coke ($2). Calypso the doggie was out romping and it was a perfect day. Walk along the water's edge from the ship, easier than walking in the dry sand.
  8. Just back from our cruise, Conquest from FLL. We did self assist, walked off the ship at 7:30. We have Global Entry/Mobile Passport (free download of mobile passport which I HIGHLY recommend). FLL is one of three cruise ports using this system, has a separate line at their customs location and we were the ONLY ones in it. We grabbed a cab, (about $18), and were sipping Starbucks by 8:45. (We also have TSA pre-check as part of Global Entry). Please note!!! FLL does NOT allow you to check your bags until 4 hours before your departure time. Any questions, I'm happy to answer. Susan
  9. Is there a special pick up point for Uber at the cruise port? We usually just grab a cab, but last time we were there the cab driver wanted to wait and fill his van rather then just take three of us. I'd rather order an Uber when we dock, but not have to drag our bags too far from the pick up location. We also have an 11:00 am flight.
  10. Thanks so much for the advice! We were hoping to not go out to the airport to store luggage, then return to the city until late that evening. I will definitely check out the MBCC website! Love these boards. Susan
  11. We will end our cruise in Singapore (2019), arriving into port at 8:00 am. Our flight out that night is at midnight. We have visited Singapore numerous times, but would like to spend the day in the city before heading to the airport. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where we might store our luggage for those 8-10 hours? Thanks in advance.
  12. I am loving your trip report! We will be on a 24 day from Long Beach to Singapore, and am wondering what we should do in Guam. Don't use your internet time to answer, will just follow along and wait and see. Hope Judy is on the mend.
  13. JDAPOWERS, thanks for the info on Maxines. We've not been to St. Maarten for a few years. Will you please refresh my memory on getting to the Boardwalk to find Maxines? I seem to recall taking a water taxi at one time, but am not certain. Any information would be appreciated.
