Thanks, all! I did not see your responses until I was already on hold, so I followed through with that. And I withdraw my comments about the online TA, the second person I spoke to was great; she was on hold with Royal for 2.5 hours and kept updating me every 20 minutes. After 2 hours and 45 minutes, it was done.
The change to MTD now beginning at 6:45 was our problem. I always chose MTD on the Oasis class so I could plan dinner around shows, but it is not possible for my SO to work around a two-hour delay from his normal mealtimes. We are now set up for early dining on next week’s cruise, and I will try sending one email for the remaining cruises - tomorrow, because the three-hour phone calls are exhausting!
Make a note to double check your dining assignment once you get onboard......just to be sure it took.
We are currently on Anthem.....had our TA change us from My Time to Late Traditional several weeks before the cruise and it did not stick. When we got on the ship we were still in My Time, but easier to slide into Late seating than First seating.
Have fun on your trip!

From Royal's site:
Bookings may only be transferred to a Travel Advisor up until 30 days from creation if the request is made outside of Final Payment and the booking is not paid in full.

I am currently on the Symphony. Bionic bar has been up and running. Watching from the Schooner Bar as I type this - line is forming to try it out. Hours of operation shown in app - 11am to 12am
-
Lava flow, mango daiquiri, strawberry daiquiri, Pina colada.
When the pool bar is not swamped have the girls go over and ask the bar tenders for some other recommendations. The bar staff love to help you find a new favorite drink - with or without booze.
Have fun!

If you test positive, you will be moved to a cabin close to the medical center for monitoring.

Thank you all for your input - anyone had experience parking at Port Everglades - our ship leaves out of T18.
We were on the NYE cruise on Allure and just got home yesterday - drove to the port for a variety of reasons. We go to the port an hour before the new boarding time and dropped luggage. Parking is a breeze - when in doubt, I just asked security/sheriff personnel for help. Spent some time in the car and walked over to the terminal for our time slot. They did allow people into the building early and there were workers checking your sea pass for the "original" time slot before waving you in.
I took the parking ticket onto the ship with me and paid for parking at machines at the edge of the lot on the way back to the car. Porters will take your bags all the way to the car for you if you so desire.

The aqua show was shortened last night because 2 of the 4 scuba divers required for safety reasons were not feeling well - so no diving allowed.

Most would advise to always buy the drink package via the cruise planner before the cruise. Ignore the "% off" banner and just look for the cost per day for the package. Buy the package when the price seems reasonable to you and then keep checking the planner as the price may go down. If that happens you can cancel and reorder to get the lower price.

I am in the Pfizer study and we were told that the only way to know if it is working is for people on the placebo to catch it. I was surprised that they had less than 100 people catch it and released the findings, but I don't know what the usual requirement is for a vaccine study.
The FDA sets the thresholds for the number of cases needed in a trial before data is gathered/released. In the current race for a vaccine, 90ish is the first threshold. Next data release happens when about 160 people in the study catch the virus. Therefore, the efficacy of the vaccine can still go up or down before the shot is given the go ahead and released to the public.

Of course the senator would have done what he could for his constituents. But to assume that would carry over as grudge is far fetched.
Had you lived in CT while Blumenthal was attorney general, you may have another take on the man.

Stuff happens, I get it, and Covid is a gong show.
I just would like to know the itinerary, have more than a week to decide, and maybe they could allow a L&S to move to something we really wanted should we not like the itinerary.
I agree - a little more info up front would have helped. I didn't follow the threads a few weeks ago regarding the other ships that were flipped flopped around. I guess this is what happened to those cruisers as well. My TA has just reached out to my group - everyone is waiting for more info to be released.

Not impressed, not surprised. We've gone from an AMP'd Explorer, to a refurbished Explorer, to Radiance of the Seas sailing to an undetermined itinerary.
I feel your pain. My group specifically booked for the ports. Already did L&S from '21 to '22 hoping the new protocols would ease by then. Now just waiting to see what the new itinerary is. I expect to see the Radiance only doing a 8 day trip instead of the 9 we booked. Hope I am wrong.

Its $49 pp for 12/12 Symphony Eastern for me... Comes out to $809.48 with gratuity. Wife barely drinks so that's a big yikes for me. I tried my last time to get my money's worth to cover the cost of us two and yea..... that was an ugly scene every morning so really not worth it to us............we do drink a lot of bottled water and coffee
You can call Royal and buy the deluxe package for you and the refreshment package for your wife. She can then buy drinks a la carte if/when she would like something. Only pain is that if there is a price drop you have to call back to cancel/repurchase.

I know that it will be corrected, but when. Will call bank as if I call RCL they will refer me to my TA.
Has anyone had similar situation.
Don't be surprised if the error is never corrected by Royal. I brought a much larger refund error to Royal's attention and it was never reversed. We just decided to be more generous with the staff on the next cruise.

c. embarking passengers originating from countries with heightened COVID-19 activity?
Limit visits to the Bahamas, limit passengers to North American residents
Looking at the numbers, these are the last ones you want on board currently, hence that's why cruises can't commence from a North American port for the forseable future.
Bring a ship back to New London, CT and allow only Nutmeggers on. We have done a decent job for the last few months. I would be willing to risk taking the trip.....for research purposes only, of course.

Who doesn't love the Junior Suites with the stripper poles? 🥰
Here is the list of Junior Suites with poles at the foot of the bed - list has been floating around CC for awhile.

Then how does that explain states like New York, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and others that have been testing more but are seeing fewer cases?
In the case of CT, many of the same front line workers are tested and retested on a regular basis. We may be testing at or about 50,000 people a week, but that number doesn't mean that we test 50,000 new/different people every week - the stats are not broken down that way.
I won't get tested just to get tested - that is not how I have ever used health care.

One thing is for sure, any changes to the inaugural date means more refunds and cancellations to process.
More importantly.....can I still get all the goodies from the inaugural sailing? I need more tchotchkes to dust! 🤣

Allowing glasses on slides can be hit or miss whether on a ship or at PDCC. We have been told both yes and no, but we have not gotten a no since we started using a cord on our glasses that can be tightened. YMMV
