We’re on Rhapsody that week! I would jumped all over that!

Happens all the time, your cruise contract allows that and more...all cruise lines have the same kind of contract. Basically they can do whatever serves the bottom line.
But no need to get incensed about something that happens to folks on every line at any time. And it's too early for airline reservations so no trouble with that. I'd say, just catch another cruise no matter what line and go have Spring Break fun.
I agree. I think it was the tone of the OPs post that set me back. I understand that they are upset- however there are many choices out there, and plenty of time.
I don’t fault the cruise line- it’s a business, and they have the right to run it as they see fit. And it is the customers right to stay with them, or change to another line. :)

I can understand you felt there were issues. I am sorry you were ill on board. Your post seems a bit over dramatic, I cannot imagine what scene was caused by some people who had to wait for food on a buffet—surrounded by so many other choices. And I do not understand why you feel the the staff member needed more sensitivity training. You were ill, you are an adult. Call the medical facility, after treatement, someone from your party should have stayed with you, or you stayed alone. Your choice. Why was guest services involved? Maybe I’m reading it wrong, but to me it is common sense. This being said, there are problems on every vacation. I’m truly glad yours weren’t serious.

The gate representative will also snap a quick digital picture of each of you/ it takes less than 20 seconds for 4 ppls pictures! :)

The onion based bread they served us in Chops! I'd make that daily if I had the recipe!

I like a firm bed, and when I was on Rhapsody this April- I loved the bed because it was firm, yet soft on top. I slept like a babe- and don't usually do so.

I have only sailed Royal. However, we are looking at other options -as we are not fans of the mega floating toy box. However If they keep some of the smaller ships- and keep them doing 7 day cruises (Caribbean) then it will be fine for me.

1989 (or 90) - Song of America.
I’ve never cruised anything but Royal.:)

We were in a similar situation and went to county courthouse where my child was born. It took 10 minutes and we excited with a raised seal birth certificate. Try this first.

Depends. If the OBC was based on a promo and that promo does not exist with the new price, then you lose the OBC. If the OBC was from booking on board, then you would keep it.
Thank you Bob- it was from booking online. I don’t expect a price drop- but I always like to know how things work.:)

Will you lose your OBC if there is a price drop?

We stayed here. It was clean, comfortable, quiet. And a very easy drive to the port.
LaQuinta - 3823 Waters Ave Tampa Bay.

All of the above. In the past it was 5 to 10 days.
Now, after a recent cruise, my points have changed to zero, then they went back to my current number (over 600) then my points for the recent (15 night) cruise never posted, then I was assigned entirely new crown and anchor number with 15 points. So I have two C&A numbers. One has my correct number of points (for now), and one has 15 points. What a mess

I had two accounts and they merged them. It took about 10 mins on the phone but they were great!

Thanks Bob! As always I appreciate your info!

We booked on board for next year. The deposit was discounted. I am thinking of upgrading from a JS to a GS- if I call RCI to do this will I have to pay the full suite deposit at the time of change? Will I lose our OBC? And I assume our Diamond balcony discount will still be in place?
Thanks in advance for the information:)

Not to dispute anyone's claims, but I'm pretty surprised at the comments saying they're charging as much as an on-land restaurant for the specialty restaurants now. Maybe we got a great deal, but there's no way we could eat the quality of food in our city that we got in Chops/Giovanni's/Sabor last trip for the price that we paid. We can easily find food that's as good, and even better, but we're also gonna pay a good deal more for it. Around here a steakhouse with filet as good as they had in Chops would be $100 per person.
I agree with this 100%.
Also -My husband I were not approached about specialty dining, drink packages, or the like on our recent cruise. We ate in Chops and Giovanni’s 5 of 7 nights. Photographers came around, but we said no thank you, and they smiled and moved on. I did not see one person hawking packages...there were tables set up when we boarded. We walked by.
Maybe they’ve pulled back on this some- this thread has some history.

Well we won't be using a TA again, that's for sure. I can easily do this myself.
I will hear back from my TA in a soon. I wish I was given the option to reserve two rooms in the first place. I'm really worried about RC charging me a change fee if we turn our quad into 2 rooms.
Truly, if you are charged 100 or 200$ more for the change. Do it. Especially if you can get connecting rooms! It will make all the difference in your vacation.

Your sailing is not sold out.
CONTACT YOUR TA IMMEDIATELY.
Cabin #1700 category 3B is available. You can switch at no extra cost, this cabin is an aft cabin that is the size of a JS for the price of a balcony.
Ps. You need to fire your TA.
I’m actually shocked that the TA wouldn’t take the time to check, or didn’t know how to check.

There is a huge difference between a man wearing nicely pressed khaki shorts, a collared shirt, and loafers...and a man wearing basketball shorts, a sweaty tank top, and Nike slides.
If you are clean, and dressed in clean clothing—aren’t wearing athletic wear or beach wear...I’m fine with it. I grew up in an upscale resort town—khaki shorts-sometimes with a blue blazer(bow tie optional!) - are the norm and welcomed in most upscale restaurants.(upscale- but not 4-5 Star-which RCI MDR is not) However...Athletic wear and tanks tops is not.
Just make an effort.

What happened with the carpet?

How sweet of you to treat your mum.❤️Enjoy your trip!

Here’s an idea- draw a line down the center of the dining room. On one side- casual dress, the other formal attire(with set rules) everyone is happy. Everyone gets what they want...and for the love of Mike we can stop beating the dead horse! And fighting!

I can see the frustration in your words, and I am sorry that you had trouble.
I know the feeling your wife dealt with- as I felt it as a 24 year old when I broke my back in a riding accident. I had a several year recovery, and although I became very ambulatory-to a degree you would never know I have limitations —now that I am older the injury is reering it’s ugly head. Traveling with limitations is tough, but gets easier! Tell her to learn not to feel embarrassed, or like she’s a bother, we ALL need help at some time in our lives. This is her time.
Your post is an important one, because it will help others. especially the part about the suite deck and elevator.
Your travels will get easier the more you do them. Don’t give up on RCI/ remember yiuvare your wife’s advocate. Find the issues, work around them, get them fixed (find the guy with the stripes!)
Blessings to you both.

Have the kids share the sofa bed. It’s 5 nights. Or... if they choose not to...one sleeps on the sofa bed, one sleeps on the floor.
