  1. I think this thread is a First Word problem. Some people can take up their chair and walk....That is because of all the strength they get from the good food heaped on their plates in the buffet. All cabins should be checked for extra chairs.

Thanks for the post holiday chuckle everyone.

  2. On the Eclipse TA we had a string trio that played twice in shows. Not sure if they ever played in the lounges. We also had a classical piano duo in the theater, again not sure if they ever played anywhere else. It was a wonderful variety of entertainers.

Yes, on the TA, the string trio played one night in the Ensemble lounge. I am sorry to hear that Celebrity is doing away with the classical music.

  3. Wondering if any of you folks that were on the new deck could compare ship movement there to other decks you may have sailed in a M class.

If so what kind of water did you travel on. Found deck 12 on the Century affected us for some reason although their suites up there just a grand location which I would think deck 11 on the M class would be similar.

Is there a difference between the two classes other than size. Been as high as 9 on the Infinity but that was almost midship.

We did not notice much movement at all but then, we had mostly smooth seas on that cruise (Hong Kong to Vancouver,). Thankfully we are not troubled by rough seas.

  4. We were in 1136 (same cabin only starboard side) on our Asia trip and it was great. Very quiet and the best room stewards we have ever had on any cruise. I don't know if they work on the other side. I do know they also did the aft cabins on that deck as we moved to 1130 for the following segment and still had them.

  5. Haven't seen this in a while since we have been dining in Blu but I do think people who do a good job need to be commended.

Have never seen food go ice cold at room temperature. I agree cold food is not pleasant when it's supposed to be hot, but it can be sent back.

  6. We love Celebrity too and since Seattle to Hawaii return is not possible why not use Vancouver? For the April sailing from Honolulu Solstice will be modified to fit under the Lions Gate Bridge to dock in Vancouver.

  7. We are set to sail in about a month and are booked for Aqua Class. There are talks if eating in Blu instead of the MDR.

When is the best time to call so you can get a good seat? Does it have to be the day before?

    Thoughts on Blu vs MDR??

They don't do reservations in Blu. The best way to "reserve" your seat is to go early.

We find the MDR pretty good but Blu is wonderful. We do love the breakfast too. It closes at 9:30 AM.

  8. I always thought the canopies were too small to protect me from the afternoon setting sun.I hope these are larger.

Sorry, the pita chips we got were so soggy they wouldn't really have protected you from the sun as they wouldn't stand up. OTOH the sun might have dried them out a bit.:D

I don't complain about much but these were disgusting and they came like that several times. We liked the shrimp and the olives.

  9. I am surprised that people think this illness is found only on ships. We have had it only once and got it in a hotel where seminars were being held. Unfortunately DH was one of the speakers. Yes, I agree it is terrible and very contagious.

I hope you get well soon Kitty and that you are pleased about the 20# loss. Terrible way to do it though

  10. Congratulations on your upgrade and happy cruising. Is this a 7 day cruise? If so, why would you book a 5 day speciality dining pkg when you are eating in Blu? On a recent cruise when we boarded we found an invitation to dine in a speciality restaurant for 50% off the first night. It was offered to all AQ people. Later in the cruise we were eating at Aqua Spa cafe one day when they were offering 30% off Sp dining.
