I have one of those coupon "book" coupons.  "$10 in casino free play when you spend $20 in the casino."

Do I go to casino cage and turn in my coupon?  Do they add $10 to my $20 that I have to place?  Do I have to "lose" all my $20 before their $10 kicks in?

slightly off topic-did your coupon book come in the form of an email (I have been told I have coupon books on a couple of cruises but didn't see them). I remember when they were in our stateroom (pre-covid) but not seen them since. I see that I have coupon books on a couple of my upcoming cruises and spent some time on "Chat" with Princess. I was told they come in the form of emails. I was also told that if I didn't get the email, I should check with GS. I know that didn't work two months ago. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Curious on your take about the dinner, specifically the wine...I did not like any of the wines or the pulpo course, although loved everything else. Did you and others like the wine pairing? I like wine, don't get me wrong, but those wines...

Funny you should ask-We are regulars at Vines where any non standard drinks are made for 360; anything except scheduled wine would come from there. The 360 manager asks you when he calls on the morning of the event if there are any allergies or drink choices (other than standard). With the number of times we attended we saw many folks that had something other than what was on the menu. In fact, my wife did not like the octopus and told the manager and she had something different each time. Very accommodating!

  3. We have been invited and attended 5 times. We were not in a suite. Our first invitation came from Magdalana on the Discovery when the experience was just starting. Magdalana was second in charge manager of one of the MDRs and recognized my wife from previous cruises. Within minutes of her seeing my wife we received an invitation. Next on the Enchanted we received THE phone call and instantly accepted. We were meeting an old friend on that cruise who had lost his partner of 40 years, the previous summer. Since we were B2B2B with invitations to 360 for all three cruise, we started asking if our friend could attend. That is when we found out the ED is part of the management and that ED (Ron Goodman) happened to be one we and our friend knew from previous cruises. Ron made sure we were all invited. I believe (and was indirectly told) that Casino status can play a part.

  4. Not following close enough, obviously. I have an ex student that is part of the Park Ranger group that would have come aboard in Glacier Bay. We have seen her twice this year and she always loves to hear from folks we know 🙂 . I just have to keep up-Thanks for the play by play-We will be on the Ruby in April for Hawaii cruise.

I read somewhere that you can change up to 3 days prior.

I have an extended (25 days) coming up but it starts with a 2 day cruise. I purchased the $50 per day package for both cruises and all has been paid. I thought about changing the 2 day to the $80 package to see if I would get the 2 dinners that are supposed to be part of that package; I am unable to do so on line or by calling Princess-"You need to contact your TA". He has been unable to do so-Princess seems to be stonewalling him. I will probably wait until I get aboard but would rather get it out of the way 🙂

  6. On a slightly different note--We will board a cruise from Seattle to Sydney on September 23-One note we got said we would have to show/testify that we are covid free prior to boarding in Seattle-That would be about 3 weeks before arriving in Australia-Seems strange to do it that early but...? 🙂

Like your review…short and to the point!    Totally agree about the elevators they  are an absolute disaster.  Not sure what would be a fix or really even a better improvement.   I’m sure someone on these forums can offer better solutions.

ON the Discovery I noticed that with there being six elevators mid ship (Piazza) that one had to push 4 buttons to try an get one to stop on your floor while waiting. If you pushed one by the forward elevator (Panoramic lift) none of the other elevators would stop. Maybe there is a way to have that one button work for all six and then each elevator would not have to stop. How many times were you on an elevator that stopped and no one got on?? That is because each person can push up to 4 buttons hence those four elevators stop at that floor and the person got on a different elevator.

  8. We are presently booked on a 2 day cruise from Seattle to Vancouver and then staying aboard for 27 days to Australia. We have the regular drink package for both cruises. I am wondering if we switched to the top package for the first two days how would they handle the two specialty dining portions of that package. I can only guess that it will be almost impossible to get into specialty restaurants during the two day portion and wonder if they might extend the offer? I have a call into Princess and awaiting their response but thought I would put it on here for discussion.

Wifi calling works even with your cell service disabled.

OP did they also send email invitations to you?

No emails-Since we were part of group for first cruise, and were cruising with top a top 2 MTP, we got to know the 360 manager: and found out that the Entertainment Director was part of the management for the event we were able to get friend invited. 360 manager, Johnas (sp) knew us well. He did not seem to have advanced notice (start of cruise) of who was invited/or received phone calls, He certainly did not mention it to us when 2nd cruise offer resulted in 360 being broken for our sitting. We thought he might have said something like "Oh, we will get you next week". We did not even know we were invited until I got home and saw missed messages. 😞

    Hello All

We are traveling on the Grand Princess from San Francisco to Sydney. We are looking for recommendations for things to do in Papeete, Bay of Islands and Pago Pago. Any thoughts?

    Jeff and Loreen

Are you sure you are on the GRAND?? We are doing a cruise from Vancouver to Sydney leaving September 25-on the Ruby Princess-Actually leaving from Seattle on September 23 but still YVR to Syd on the25. Very active roll call for that cruise

@triple7tahoe were you in a suite?  If not was it related to your tier status or being amongst the most travelled guests?  Wonderful that you were invited, but sorry the communication was subpar.

Were not in a suite but do have small casino status. We have made friends with some of the staff on the ship and that seems to get us an invitation also. When we did it on the Discovery, one of the restaurant managers recognized my wife from previous cruises and invited us.

  12. I know this is a first world problem but I would like to share a recent experience. I received a phone call (Santa Clarita area code) about 8 days prior to boarding the Enchanted Princess for B2B2B cruises. Of course I accepted. On the way to the airport, I received another call inviting me to 360 for second cruise and I accepted. Once aboard the ship, I was able to attend the first offer. On the morning of the second cruise, I received a call at 8AM confirming the second dinner only to get another call around 20 minutes later, cancelling the dinner as the equipment had a malfunction-That was not rescheduled. Nor did I hear anything about the third week. When I returned home after finishing the three cruises, I turned my phone back on and saw that I had five voicemails with invitations to 360 for the third cruise. All those call came while I was aboard the ship but nobody on the ship said anything about being invited. I will call the number tomorrow and ask where the breakdown in communication is taking place? As I said, a first world problem, but I would like to have gone a second time and it looks like I might have even been able to go three times. 🙂

  13. We just got back from very similar cruise (SEA-SEA  Alaska) with only stop in Victoria to meet requirement of stop outside US. I posed the same question since my DW passport in process of renewal and not available. Lots of doom and gloom from this site!!! She travelled with ordinary DL (not enhanced) and certified copy of birth certificate. When we disembarked today in Seattle, the folks at Border Control took one look at her DL and waved her through. Easy Peasy.!! 🙂

  14. We were fortunate enough to be invited twice, once in the Fall and again in May aboard Discovery. We were hoping to get invited for our upcoming (at the time) B2B cruises on the Enchanted. One phone call came a week before the cruise and the second came on the way to the airport. We were meeting a long time cruising friend who was taking his first cruise since losing his partner of 40 years and hoped to get him invited as well; Sucess was ours as Johanas invited him to our first sitting. Wonderful experience and we were looking forward to second invite. Unfortunately, second experience was cancelled due to equipment malfunction. We learned that the entire system cost over 15/16 million $$$ to install and circuit board (culprit of malfunction) cost over $50K. We did not get reinvited to second 360 experience but got phone call yesterday with invite for upcoming Discovery cruise--I accepted before the person calling could ask. I recognized the Santa Clarita phone number 🙂

If you attend can and have time can you take a picture of the venue and what’s the offerings at that time.
Also to all if we travel with a couple of ours that are not Platinum or Elite can they still come ? Of course they will not go to the hors d’œuvre station and pay for the drinks.

    Thanks

    Sea Ya

WE just got off the Enchanted. There were so few Elite that the lounge was also open to Platinum. For our three weeks, it was so empty that nibbles folks were happy just to have anybody. I am not sure if they checked folks but I am willing to bet not much has changed 🙂

  16. It was not until just now that I realized your post was about the cruise we were just on. I enjoyed reading your comments and comparing them to our experiences. We seem to have enjoyed many of the same locations. Then I got to your post with the "test results" and said "Wow". When we finally got home on Sunday (Long trip from ship to our home across the harbor 🙂 ). I felt like I had caught a bad cold and went to bed; stayed there for three days. Now I have to wonder if I had a mild version of Covid, certainly feeling better now--Hope to be great by the upcoming weekend as we are back off to Alaska (on Royal, Saturday).

  17. Once I found a set of keys in our safe aboard the ship and I took them to the Passengers Desk to turn them in. I was told "Thank you" and I started to leave. I then realized that since I did not have my medallion with me, the folks  could not know which cabin I was in so could not contact the previous occupants. I asked and was told that they did not try to contact them and would respond to a query, if one came 😞

Beg to differ.  Why would someone buy glass(es) when they are available by request?  Any they would be bulky to pack and get home safely.  Easier to simply purchase at home in person or online.

I agree about the packing problems but...One never knows what some folks take home. On a recent cruise our of San Pedro, I saw a woman who had 4 rolls of ships toilet paper in her luggage 🙂

  19. I hope I have not created a similar problem with an upcoming set of cruises. Each of the following are listed as separate cruises but hopefully we have found a work-around? 1st leg-2 day coastal from Seattle to Vancouver. Next leg Vancouver to Hawaii (I know we could not disembark in Hawaii as final destination without violating PSVA but Vancouver to Hawaii is listed as a possible cruise) 3rd leg-Hawaii  to Sydney, AUS.- 4th leg Sydney-Sydney. A few days off and then on to the Majestic. I am never sure who can be trusted at Princess but cruise(s) have been booked and not cancelled by anybody (yet) 🙂
