  1. In the past we have seen sales by Royal Caribbean with some major price mark downs .just don't recall the timing & name of the sales .Can any one help ?

    TIA

I have only been monitoring the past month or so and Oasis sailings are fluctuating at insane rates. 2 weeks ago the 12/24 sailing was $1250pp indoor, right now it is $700pp. Based on what I've seen, the "sales" are completely irrelevant. You can easily get a cheaper fare during a non-sale period.

  2. -My deals last year was a 700$ solo TA trip on navigator inside room with taxes and fees and double occupancy rate

-1200$ for 2 in a ocean balcony on oasis in a few weeks

-Free southern Caribbean adventure cruise during the first week of march 2018 (casino royal thing) in a balcony for 2 minus taxes and fees of course.

I'm jealous of what you paid, we're probably on the same Oasis sailing, 12/17. I got an ocean balcony for 2 but it came to $1700 including taxes and fees, $1889 with gratuities included. Booked it somewhat last minute a few weeks ago. Looks like you got a much better deal. Right now that same room is $2500 for 2. It's insane how these prices fluctuate on a daily basis.

  3. I booked Oasis 7 night sailing 12/17/17 somewhat last-minute, about 1 month in advance. With taxes and what not included, $1700 for a ocean view balcony for 2 adults. I thought that was a good deal based on some of the other prices I had monitoring, but after reading some of the comments on this post, maybe it wasn't such a good deal. LOL. Live and learn!

I could have saved $400 or so by booking an indoor, but after doing indoor on Allure several years ago and experiencing unexpected claustrophobia, I swore off inside cabins for good, regardless of price. The discomfort just wasn't worth a steep discount (for me). The whole waking up and not knowing whether or not it was daytime or still nighttime without having to look at a clock irked me as well.

  4. Hi everyone - we're going on the 12/17 Oasis sailing to St. Thomas (originally St. Maarten), San Juan and Labadee. Cruise Critic recently reported an update of St. Thomas and the general status of some of the beaches post-hurricane, but there wasn't a whole lot of detail. I was wondering if anyone has been to either of these cities in recent sailings and if so, are there any recommended excursions, places to avoid, etc? I would hope that RCI would remove excursions or at least post cautionary updates if "what you see isn't necessarily what you'll get) given the current condition of the islands, so I was hoping to head from someone firsthand. Thanks in advance.

  5. The RCI website is archaic, it looks like it's from the 90's. When I booked a few weeks ago, I was shocked at how much of a joke it it is.

After booking, I received no confirmation email. So, I tried to login to my account to make sure everything processed. Well, surprise, a mysterious balance appeared. I emailed them, got a call back and was told that sometimes when you try to view your information while the booking is "processing" the promotional discount will "fall off." The woman applied the discount, and then everything was fine.

So a few things I've learned...do not log in to your account until you receive the confirmation email. Ask the representative to email you a copy of all documents if he/she makes any changes to anything.

  6. Thanks again for the advice everyone. Yesterday I decided to pull the trigger for Oasis 12/17 sailing due do it being considerably cheaper than 12/24. I was able to get an ocean view balcony for two at around $750 per person, which surprisingly was only $150 or so more than an interior (on other dates I checked, the price difference between interior and ocean view balcony was significantly higher, so they must have a lot of inventory for 12/17). So around $1,700 total with taxes etc. After several weeks of watching prices fluctuate, it seemed like things weren't going to get much cheaper, plus I was ready to finalize vacation time with my employer. Now it's time to plan excursions...

  7. Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to cruising (only have been on one, Allure several years ago) and new to this message board.

I've got some time off work around Christmas and am eyeing holiday cruises on Oasis, Allure and Harmony for 2 adults.

Does anyone have experience with booking a holiday cruise this late in the game? I'm wondering if I should pull the trigger now, or wait and see if the prices drop. Obviously they are through the roof right now.

I live in Florida and am able to drive to the ports, so air travel cost is not a factor for me and I have the ability to book at the last minute if needed.

Additionally, if anyone has been on holiday cruises, I'd be curious to hear about your experience. It was an August when I went on Allure.

    Thanks in advance.
