Hi everyone....just home last night from the Indy Pre-Inaugural cruise! What a beautiful ship. We had a fantastic time. :) Still a bit jet lagged, but I did manage to post my photos on webshots if anyone is interested, here they are: http://good-times.webshots.com/album/563288702TpMeic
Forgive the blurry and bad shots, I've not had time to weed them out.
Liz....it was wonderful to meet you! :)

So thrilled to read about Carnival's tea service. I have had afternoon tea a few places in Manhattan, and a couple of times in England, and I DO love it. I agree with some of the other posters, my favorite is clotted cream and scones. I so hope they offer this on Carnival. I have read in the Carnival Caper's about it but never ventured to one as I didn't want to go alone and I don't think it's my fiance's cup of tea, so to speak (no pun intended), haha! I will be aboard the Carnival Legend in July for my wedding and I think this would be a great way for "the girls" to relax and get away from the men for a bit. Let them go sit in the smelly cigar bar and drink Scotch or something. Thanks for the nice info everyone! :)
On my last Triumph cruise, afternoon tea was held in the Cigar Bar.

LOL Mike...I know my DH can relate. He spent 23 years as a submariner. Hot racks...now that's just yucky! :) At least this crew gets the bed all to themselves.

We used Easy Express and were very happy with the service. We had a shared ride to Ft. Lauderdale airport from Miami after our cruise. We called them when we docked and they were there as we stepped out of the luggage area. It was $19.95 per person. I would use them again.

Hi and welcome. While you don't have to have passport at this time, you are taking a risk. If something happens while on your cruise (illness of someone back home or ANY reason you may have to fly back for) you will not be able to get back into the states as you are required to have a passport to enter. It's really up to you and what you feel comfortable with. I have had one since my first cruise 7 years ago just because of visting other countries you never know what could happen. I hope you and your hubby enjoy your cruise!
This is just not true...you will be able to get back to the states. You don't have to stay on an island forever (though some might like that idea.) :p While I agree traveling with a passport is best, you can return without one.

Q. What happens to U.S. citizens who attempt to re-enter the country without a passport or an alternative travel card?
Under the law, the new documentation requirements may be waived under certain circumstances. These exceptions include individual cases of unforeseen emergency and individual cases based on “humanitarian or national interest reasons.” In addition, the State Department has processes to assist U.S. citizens overseas to obtain emergency travel documentation for those with lost or stolen passports.
For the general public, people who apply for entry but do not have appropriate documentation will be referred for secondary screening at the port. In secondary, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers will evaluate any evidence of citizenship or identity the individual may have and will verify all information against available databases. However, to prevent delay at the ports of entry, we would encourage all U.S. citizens to obtain the appropriate documents before they travel.

There is a bird sanctuary in Jamaica called the Rockland Bird Sanctuary.
A-Z Jamaica Planners does an excursion to the sanctuary. I think it's only listed for the Montego Bay port though.

Hulling strawberries removes their green caps and inner white cores. Use your fingertips to pull off the leafy caps and then cut out the soft white cores with the tip of a paring knife.

For me, if it's issued in the City Hall where I was born, it's a small laminated copy.
A "full size" BC is available at the state level, but you have to go the the capitol, Dept of Vital Statistics for that. I've only traveled with the full sized copy as my TA advised us against the laminated copy.
We now have Passports, as everyone will have to by year end and then the whole point will be moot. :)

The Galley tour was great, but the Bridge tour was fascinating. And being introduced to and chatting with Richard Fain was such an honor for me! (No pics of that) :( I think the one with the Captain came out good though. :)
It was a terrific time! Did everyone see Gene Sloan's blog about all the contestants getting together? What a great guy he was! :)
