  1. Hi all, it's been a while since we've cruised.  My question is regarding the specialty dining promotion on the Pride of America.  We'll have 3 nights as part of the promotion.  Besides the gratuity,  is there any other cost we can expect?  I see there are now a la carte charges at different restaurants on other ships.  I'm not sure how that works on the POA.  Thanks

  2.   I saw the title of the post "Sally" but the body of the post doesn't mention Sally.  I'm curious, what is Sally?

  3. We booked a cruise with NCL for next March.  I would have preferred to cruise out of SF with Princess.  The 15 day cruise was about the same price as NCL's 7 day and i love being on the ship.  Unfortunately my wife was concerned about the possibility of rough seas.  I also liked the fact that with NCL overnight on 2 different islands so you have the ability and time to see and explore more.

  4. My wife and I have cruised on the smaller ships NCL offers (Jewel, Pearl) 3 times and on RCL (Radiance of the Seas) once out of Tampa. We both felt more comfortable on NCL, thought the food was slightly better, and enjoyed the ship’s atmosphere more. I’m not sure if they were that different that we wouldn’t try RCL again.

  5. I haven’t cruised NCL for a while and was wondering: my final payment is November 8th, cruising on the POA in March 2020. Should I check in now or wait until after final payment?  I’m assuming checking in early would not affect my ability to cancel if necessary?  Thanks everyone!

  6. I've read that some people have used Robert's Tours for Smith's Family Luau.  When I went to their website the first thing I saw was that "transportation is not provided" under the tab "important information".  I must be missing something.  Why would I use their services if they don't take us back and forth to the luau from the cruise docks?  What is it that I'm paying them for?  I know there is something I'm not seeing - thanks for any clarification.

  7. I just booked a cruise today to Hawaii for next March for my wife and i.  We got the free airfare out of SFO.  This is our first time not booking our own flights so I'm hoping all goes well.  We plan on staying a couple of extra days so we will be paying the extra $50.

  8. Considering getting a mid-ship balcony on Deck 10 on the POA.  I noticed in the deck plans that the majority of Deck 11 is public areas.  Do you think there would be noticeable increase in noise from above us?  Should I look at deck 9 instead?  Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

  9. Hi all, my daughter is getting married in September. She and her husband will be honeymooning on the Ecstasy in January out of Charleston. My wife and I would like to give them a sail away gift. Since I'm only familiar with NCL and RCL, does anyone have a suggestion as to what choices Carnival has? Thanks.

  10. We've done 4 cruises to Hawaii in late March or early April. I think you definitely need some long pants/jeans and a light weight jacket or sweater the first 2 days on the way there - and the last 2 days on the way back. Aloha

Thanks so much. We’ll be visiting with my son and his family in San Francisco prior to the cruise so we’ll have warm clothes with us.
