  1. We are Elite( almost Elite plus) and today it says not quite enough to reach Classic!  When I look at my account it says

not able to show points now try again later.

    Has anyone experienced this?

Also we were supposed to board Constellation today for 11 and 10 day back to back however I broke my leg playing hockey last week and we couldn't go obviously.

Luckily we had cancellation insurance thru Costco hover being as we paid in full will we still get our points ?

  2. So I broke my leg in 3 places playing hockey last Friday ( 10 screws and an 8 inch plate) but the rally crappy part is we were supposed to leave on a 21 day Celebrity cruise this Saturday...obviously that ain't happening ( we did have trip cancellation with Manulife thru Costco).

So my question is regarding medical and travel insurance for our upcoming cruise in November. Is this going to be one of those pre-existing condition problems? I am sure some of those hip and knee replacement cruisers know the answer.

The good news!   I am 70 years old and my wife said she is throwing out my skates and I said " Wahoo! I'm getting new skates!)

  3. How come there is never any discussion about Regatta....we have our first Oceania cruise booked on the Regatta for French Polynesia and Hawaii.

We have been there with Paul Gaugin and Windstar.

Would love to hear comments about recent Regatta voyages.

    Thanks

PS...note the handle Red Stripe Type....heading to Jamaica mon tomorrow!

  4. In 2018 we cruised the French Polynesia on Paul Gaugin and last week we just got off the Windstar Breeze after 20 days starting in Tahiti and ending in San Diego.

Was the best cruise ever (20 plus on Celebrity).  Best food and entertainment with outstanding service.

However two other guests told us that the food on Oceania is even better (hard to fathom) and Oceania has an itinerary we are interested in booking, however we have some questions.

The pictures in the brochure all show the men wearing sport jackets. Is that the norm? How formal is the environment onboard.

Past guests on this forum and the brochure talk about instrumental music etc. Is there a band that performs dance music such as classic Frank Sinatra, or popular dance tunes such as the Beatles etc?

Any other info about the crew, WIFI, laundry,  etc would be appreciated.

I guess in essence what I am asking is Oceania very formal overall like Crystal etc?

  6. So if you have the All Included package and in order to have wine in your room do you have to use room service one glass at a time.

I saw a pic of the open beverage fridge and on the shelf beside the fridge it looked like smaller bottles of wine similar to onboard an airplane.

  7. Thanks.....on Paul Gaugin in Bora Bora they had a private beach similar to Tahaa where guests were tendered in.

However Windstar does not tender at Bora Bora it actually docks.

So my question is where is the private evening beach BBQ and show held and can guests go there during the day?

  8. So first off to RickT its San Fran not LAX!

To 007colocruz self tests are not allowed.

Tried Walgreens and CVS both no go.

However found a walk in clinic near the airport and 10 min Uber from our hotel that does Antigen for $69 with 1 hour results. So we will take Uber both ways and not spend the $500US ($635 CAD)

It is called One point and is fully refundable if cancelled.

However once we booked it said due to high volumes results will take an extra hour.

  9. So checked Walgreens...no go

    Checked CVS …nothing close

Found a place 10 mins from Hyatt hotel called One Point back towards airport.

$69 for rapid antigen with one hour results.

Open late with walk in clinic so booked 5 pm test and will Uber both ways from hotel.

Cancellation anytime with full refund however after booking completed site says due to high volume results will take extra hour.

So $130 US plus prob $50 for Ubers way better than $500 US!

  10. We overnight in Bora Bora on April 4 and 5. Windstar is putting on Beach BBQ supper which I presume would be on the evening of the first night.

We have booked H20 snorkel excursion for the morning of day 2 and were looking at a resort day pass for day one.

Came across a 4 year old Trip Advisor review that stated that Windstar uses a private Motu for the BBQ and the ship let people go there to enjoy the beach during the day. They brought sandwiches from room service and made rum punch in the room.

Has anyone overnighted at Bora Bora recently who could comment on this?

  11. We are flying from Calgary to San Francisco departing at 1100 on a Monday and will get antigen test at Shoppers on Sun evening to meet US entry requirements.

Staying overnight in San Fran to catch United Air flight to Tahiti at 1300 Tuesday. Tahiti requires antigen test within 24 hours of departure NOT one day. United website states we must have our test no earlier than noon on Tuesday.

There are three locations in San Fran airport and all three charge $225 -$250 each US.

We are booked for one Monday afternoon after we fly in....yikes another $650 cost to our trip!
