If you have an assigned time at 5:15 PM, you should be at the MDR at 5:15 PM. Technically there is no window for fixed dining, although most waiters tend to be flexible for people who show up late (within reason). If you like the flexibility of showing up at the MDR at a time that is convenient for you, you should do your time dining.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as Your time dining... Only THEIR time dining !

waitlisting must be preventing you from making flexible dining times????

I would guess that maybe you have been assigned a set dining time, and are no longer waitlisted

Give them a call and confirm

Absolutely loved it and from the time the ship opened until late morning it was so peaceful.  Not wanting to seem like a grumpy old man as I've had children that age, but the lack of children laughing, screaming, playing etc was both weird and welcome for the serenity. Would definitely pay again to go to Hideaway especially if on the lower end of the dynamic pricing scale.

understand what you are saying about lack of kids , but in my opinion referring to Hideaway as "Serene" would definitely be misleading !

Also with others referencing the food . I think that is where RCI could have done so much better and made this much more attractive had they put some real 'upscale' options in there

Tough crowd. I feel bad when someone misses the ship whether it was their fault or not. You don’t know their story. They could have had something beyond their control or they could have been drinking at the bar two blocks away. Either way if there’s kids involved it wasn’t their fault.

    hmmm...

I don't think you are making your point very well here

Edit... I guess you are saying Not 'the kids fault' , Got it

Bad enough they have rerouted our 5/15 Symphony cruise  to Nassau but they changed our stop at Coco Cay from 5/19 to 5/20. Since Wonder has been scheduled for a 5/20 Coco cay port stop from the get go does anyone have any experience with how they would  handle Symphony's cabana, day bed  and excursion reservations? At this late date I would guess Wonder has gobbeled up all the spots.

I think you have your answer ... If there is anything Wonder hasn't "gobbled" , you can take a crack at it. I'm betting they will not be giving friend and family discounts

They are not your typical golf cart. Gas powered, 4-6 passenger off road capable, knobby tired, that you can take places cars get stuck. 20 mph speed vs the 12 mile governor on most. Typical first trip from the port is a 7 mile run out to the lighthouse, then maybe the off road run out to fisherman's point. Car rentals are cheaper, but cars are not as good transportation for the terrain as the carts. Lots of hard sand/island rock roads instead of pavement once off the main 2 roads. Just aren't allowed to take them on any of the beaches (cars not allowed either). Hands down the best way to get around the island.

    Good to know

There were plenty of excursions available once we boarded Thursday. We rented a golf cart at the port for $120 (cash only plus gas) for the day.  It was fun being on our own tour but there isn't much to see! The island is very safe, very few locals even out. Gas station attendant told us the weekends are very low-key here and most people stay home. The golf carts and ATV's are 90% of the vehicles on the road. There is nothing much "downtown". We ate at Jack's Shack and spent about an hour at Governor's Beach. Oh, a 1/2 tank of gas was $10. It was a really nice day and it was a bonus to go somewhere we've never been! And fun seeing the donkeys. They are plentiful!20240323_104414.thumb.jpg.c5390cda3c140025f22ef5b8e459a871.jpg

$120 for a golf car for a few hours , good for them. Someones rakin it in!

Looks like my type of place though ... I'm into Low Key !

If the price drops after final payment you can request a FCC ( future cruise credit ). You can only do the request 1 time, if it drops further you will not get another.

I did the request just yesterday and will hopefully receive one for $1200.00 to use on my next cruise. They are good for 1 year.

    nice

  9. Hey all .

I am a frequent RCI cruiser with only 1 NCL cruise , (taken 6 years ago on Breakaway). I am wondering if NCL policy is similar to RCI with regards to price drops ? With RCI if price drops before final payment , all that is needed is a call to customer service and they will match . Is NCL the same or if it is different could you please explain.

    Thx

    Cheers

Can I apply my alcohol benefits at specialty restaurants, Let's say Savor, sailing on Harmony of the seas May 5th, thanks

I may be 1 too many drinks in tonight , but isn't Savor an NCL restaurant ?

If so using your vouchers there will be a challenge

From my personal experience, I think Harmony is consistently the cheapest Oasis class ship to book because it lacks a pool in the Solarium. Obviously this isn’t important to everyone, but I think it is important to enough people that it impacts the cruise fare.

I'm thinkin if that was the case , RCI may have caught on by now and simply added a poolin there by now. Seems like a simple and obvious solution to week after week revenue loss(which would quickly add up to millions) if that were the case

    Just my 2c

Just saying that’s what they told me on the phone when I called. They said they are not. They even read the policy over the phone.

Listening to an agent on the phone and reporting it here as fact is not the best idea as it is common knowledge that they are full of misinformation !

Just an FYI. RCCL isn’t offering any upgrades, reduced cruise price or even port fees back for changing to another cruising day. We’ll be cruising more than actually going anywhere. Not impressed. For those who got an alternate port, feel lucky. Some people got just more time at sea. 😡

Where did you receive this information ?

This has historically been a ship-ship decision (which makes no sense to me) , but curious where you have learned that this has changed to a fleetwide decision ?

Thank you for a great ride along! It was terrific!

    I have a question…

You and your family have sailed Harmony a few times. I think this was your first sail on Oasis, an older ship. Did you notice much of a difference, or do you have a favorite between the two ships?

Oasis has sailed out of Bayonne, NJ for the past few years, and I have fallen in love with her. We will be on the Symphony sailing out of Bayonne for three cruises this year. I hope to love the Symphony as much as the Oasis!

    LOL

By my count , this was their 11th time on Oasis !

It appears they Quite enjoy it !

I'm pretty familiar- or used to be.  I've been sailing since before it was even an option.  However, I was not familiar with the fact that they split a dining room for double duty.  I booked MTD based on memories of smoother days.  In my mind if you're exiting early dining and having to cut through lines wrapping around the floor of people trying to get in to MTD, it feels like there is room for improvement.  (this is where I think the 3rd dining time might be that improvement.)

I see same thing , Over and Over . Some are very reluctant to agree with the obvious for various reasons. Maybe to some waiting 10-25 mins. for example , is acceptable. For me the 10 end could be , but definitely not the latter end.... Also for the lucky (few) who are able to secure the coveted 6:45 spot , again , maybe that is great . But for the majority who do not , being stuck to the more likely times of 7:30,8,8:15... and beyond do not work well . To most of us , this is not what a smooth working MTD should look like , but rather a version of TTD (Thier Time Dining), with little flexibility .

Just my 2 Cents. Well... and many others also

If I remember they had some light breakfast items in the morning (juice, danish, etc) but other than the amazing lunch, I don't remember any other food options.  There is a bar of course (and drink service at your chair) so no problem with drinks.

I was completely stuffed after the lunch and didn't have the need to eat again until back on the ship.  But if you are still hungry, you can always wander down to South Beach and hit the Snack Shack.  The full Coco Cay is available to you if you wish to leave the Beach Club and come back (they were doing wrist bands when I was there for re-entry... not sure if they've switched to scanning your seapass like at Hideaway).

    Roger that !

    Thx

My issue with Haiti stop right now is most governments, at least mine has a do not travel advisory which means my travel medical insurance would no longer cover me there. I don't plan to break a leg or anything sitting on the beach, but it they are accidents for reasons.

Heart says it's all good and go enjoy yourself. Brain says stay on ship (not to go into debt if something happen, at least so far am not worried about safety so far on Labadee)

Staying on the ship , I believe you still travelled to Haiti .

    ??
