  1. Just posting about what interests me. We adults want to know where the smoking areas are and Carnival is the only one posting the locations on their website. To all cruise lines: Each cruise line should post the locations of indoor and outdoor smoking areas, so everyone can decide where they want their cabin and non-smokers can avoid these areas. There are more cigarette smokers than cigar smokers and we deserve a comfortable place indoors, not just the casino when there is bad weather. There should be an indoor cigarette smoking room for the 15-20% of smokers on each ship with seating for 20 and at least 3 outdoor areas on different levels with seating for 20. We want to enjoy our vacation! Just as adults are going to continue to smoke cigars, cigarette smokers will continue to smoke cigarettes. Carnival makes it easy to figure out. I hope the cruise lines read these posts.
  2. Let's start a list of the smoking areas on MSC ships. We were on Musica in Venice and we are going on Armonia soon and found the following information online, so I hope it is right. We want to cruise on Poesia but we can't find any information. It would sure be nice if the cruise lines posted the information so we know where to go, so often the staff has no idea where the smoking areas are located. Ship name: MSC Musica Deck 7 Cigar lounge allows cigarette smokers Deck 7 outside the Cigar lounge Deck 7 smoking area before Casino and while playing Deck 13 by pool on one side of deck MSC Armonia Deck 6 - Casino and lower deck midship Deck 5- Cigar Lounge forward Deck 11 - Pool deck midship

  4. Summary of smoking areas on Caribbean Princess: Copy and paste this post to update as needed. It is helpful to know where to get a cabin if you are a smoker. I hope the cruise lines read these posts and understand that we are on vacation and want to be comfortable and we need indoor and outdoor smoking areas. There should always be an indoor cigarette smoking room with ventilation(window or machine) for when the weather is bad with seating for 20 and each ship should create a cigarette smoking room. We don't want to smoke in the cigar lounge or the casino because we want our own room! Ship: Caribbean Princess Outdoors: Deck 7 aft- a small area aft outside of Club Fusion on promenade deck 7 where the ash disposals units are attached to the bulkhead. Deck 15? aft-An area port side on the Horizon Terrace by the Outrigger Bar, but not at the bar. May not be allowed anymore, Deck 16 fwd An area to the port side of the Tradewinds Bar on Deck 16 above Neptune's Reef pool. Indoors: Deck 6 fwd - Churchill's Lounge, Deck 6 fwd. This is the cigar and pipe area. Deck 7 mid- Casino, some evenings are smoke free, some days may also be smoke free. Deck 18 aft - Skywalker's, there is usually a smoking section during late night DJ and dancing.

  6. They really should create an indoor cigarette smoking room on every ship since there are more of us. When the weather is bad we also want to be comfortable and it keeps us out of the way. I got a cabin by Tradewinds, so hopefully it isn't too windy and cold all the time.
  7. Just wondering if anyone who smokes was recently on Vision of the Seas to confirm where the smoking areas are located. I read one side on the outside of decks 5, 9, and 10. When the weather is bad, I wish they had an indoor smoking room instead of the Casino. Thanks for any tips.
  8. The spreadsheet is great! I also wish cruise lines would post the exact areas for smokers and non-smokers. As a smoker I enjoy a comfortable place to relax just like non-smokers. There should be an indoor smoking room for when the weather is bad and not just the casino. I hope the cruise lines read these boards.
  9. I found some details on NCL's website, but I still wonder if there is an indoor smoking lounge for when the weather is bad outside, since I don't like smoking in the casino. Deck 6 is the lower outer deck with a jogging track, so according to the information below, there may not be a smoking area. Usually there is a smoking area on the lower outer deck on most ships. Deck 7 is the casino deck. What about smoking on the ship? As the health and well-being of our guests and crew is of the utmost importance, Norwegian Cruise Line will institute changes to its smoking policy for all sailings on or after November 1, 2014. The specific changes prohibit smoking on stateroom balconies and limit smoking in the casino to players. On Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Breakaway, smoking on The Waterfront will be permitted on the starboard side, except by the outdoor dining areas. Guests in the Garden Villas may smoke in their private garden and on their private sun decks. Public areas throughout all our ships are smoke-free. If you smoke regular or electronic cigarettes, you can do so in designated areas only. If you prefer pipes or cigars, you can smoke in the Cigar Bar or designated smoking lounge. Smoking cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars and pipes is permitted in outdoor public guest spaces and open decks where designated by the ship's management based on the ship's specific characteristics and arrangement. Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited in or near venues serving food, the jogging track, outdoor sporting venues, The Haven outdoor areas and children's pool areas. On ships with The Waterfront, smoking is permitted on the starboard side excluding any food service areas. Active Casino players may smoke cigarettes in the Casino during gaming hours. Cigarette smoking is not permitted in any other indoor venue or location. Guests are not permitted to smoke cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars or pipes in their staterooms or on their balconies. Cigar and pipe smoking in staterooms and on balconies is prohibited. Smoking inside your stateroom or on your balcony will result in a $250 USD cleaning charge added to your onboard account. If cigarette burns on furniture, linens, towels or carpeting are detected; guests will be advised and charged for the damages. Electronic cigarettes cannot be used in public areas where there is a No Smoking policy in force; simply because these cigarettes look so realistic and therefore other guests' perception is that we are not enforcing the No Smoking rule.
  10. Review of Harmony of the seas smoking areas Getting a room by the aft elevator is most convenient for smokers since there are only 2 areas in the aft of the ship, outdoors on 15 Port side and in the casino on Starboard. Deck 4- Casino starboard side- sitting area with 5 club chairs. When the casino doors are closed it says to smoke outside on deck 5. Deck 15- by adult pool port side- large hard uncomfortable chairs for shorter people and not easy to reach the ashtray. They close deck 15 when fueling in St Martin until 2-3 pm. When they wash the deck they never think of leaving some towels so we can dry the chairs. Some ships have indoor Cigar rooms and they work great when the weather is bad for smokers. I don't like going to the casino, so I wish they would give cigarette smokers an indoor room on all ships and let us open the window. I hope cruise lines read these posts. Please do a review of smoking areas on other ships and post it. Thanks
  11. Thanks, Royal seems to have standard areas. Where you on the ship recently?
  12. Anyone recently on Jewel know where the smoking areas are located? I think the lower outer deck is on 5 and maybe the pool bar on deck 11. Some cruise lines don't have chairs on the lower deck, like NCL & MSC. Thanks so much!
  13. Hi, Where did you find that information? There website doesn't seem to include the locations of the smoking areas, but we smoke and it is nice to know where they are before we book a room. Carnival is the only website that lists the locations of the smoking areas. It would be nice if all the cruise lines included the locations. It is also nice when they have "Designated Smoking Area" signs so non-smokers know ahead of time.
  14. It is nice to hear from others what the smoking areas are like. The cruise line doesn't give any details. Thanks for the tips.
