The spreadsheet is great!  I also wish cruise lines would post the exact areas for smokers and non-smokers.  As a smoker I enjoy a comfortable place to relax just like non-smokers.  There should be an indoor smoking room for when the weather is bad and not just the casino.  I hope the cruise lines read these boards.

I found some details on NCL's website, but I still wonder if there is an indoor smoking lounge for when the weather is bad outside, since I don't like smoking in the casino.  Deck 6 is the lower outer deck with a jogging track, so according to the information below, there may not be a smoking area.  Usually there is a smoking area on the lower outer deck on most ships.  Deck 7 is the casino deck.

 

What about smoking on the ship?
As the health and well-being of our guests and crew is of the utmost importance, Norwegian Cruise Line will institute changes to its smoking policy for all sailings on or after November 1, 2014. The specific changes prohibit smoking on stateroom balconies and limit smoking in the casino to players. On Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Breakaway, smoking on The Waterfront will be permitted on the starboard side, except by the outdoor dining areas.

Guests in the Garden Villas may smoke in their private garden and on their private sun decks.

Public areas throughout all our ships are smoke-free. If you smoke regular or electronic cigarettes, you can do so in designated areas only. If you prefer pipes or cigars, you can smoke in the Cigar Bar or designated smoking lounge. Smoking cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars and pipes is permitted in outdoor public guest spaces and open decks where designated by the ship's management based on the ship's specific characteristics and arrangement. Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited in or near venues serving food, the jogging track, outdoor sporting venues, The Haven outdoor areas and children's pool areas. On ships with The Waterfront, smoking is permitted on the starboard side excluding any food service areas. Active Casino players may smoke cigarettes in the Casino during gaming hours. Cigarette smoking is not permitted in any other indoor venue or location.

Guests are not permitted to smoke cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars or pipes in their staterooms or on their balconies. Cigar and pipe smoking in staterooms and on balconies is prohibited. Smoking inside your stateroom or on your balcony will result in a $250 USD cleaning charge added to your onboard account. If cigarette burns on furniture, linens, towels or carpeting are detected; guests will be advised and charged for the damages.

Electronic cigarettes cannot be used in public areas where there is a No Smoking policy in force; simply because these cigarettes look so realistic and therefore other guests' perception is that we are not enforcing the No Smoking rule.

 

Review of Harmony of the seas smoking areas

Getting a room by the aft elevator is most convenient for smokers since there are only 2 areas in the aft of the ship,  outdoors on 15 Port side and in the casino on Starboard.  

Deck 4- Casino starboard side- sitting area with 5 club chairs. When the casino doors are closed it says to smoke outside on deck 5. 

Deck 15- by adult pool port side- large hard uncomfortable chairs for shorter people and not easy to reach the ashtray. They close deck 15 when fueling in St Martin until 2-3 pm.  When they wash the deck they never think of leaving some towels so we can dry the chairs.

Some ships have indoor Cigar rooms and they work great when the weather is bad for smokers.  I don't like going to the casino, so I wish they would give cigarette smokers an indoor room on all ships and let us open the window.  I hope cruise lines read these posts.

Anyone recently on Jewel know where the smoking areas are located?  I think the lower outer deck is on 5 and maybe the pool bar on deck 11.  Some cruise lines don't have chairs on the lower deck, like NCL & MSC.  Thanks so much!

Hi, Where did you find that information?  There website doesn't seem to include the locations of the smoking areas, but we smoke and it is nice to know where they are before we book a room.  Carnival is the only website that lists the locations of the smoking areas.  It would be nice if all the cruise lines included the locations.  It is also nice when they have "Designated Smoking Area" signs so non-smokers know ahead of time.

I am hoping the smoking areas are mid ship on 15 & 16 so we don't have a long walk on that big ship.  Is the area on 15 by the Sand Bar or Pool Bar?

It’s posted on page 1 of the cruise compass every day.

That doesn't help us plan which cabin we want ahead of time.

We are new to Princess and some ships seem to have a smoking area midship on the Lido deck, so we thought we would get a cabin on the Lido, but maybe we should get an aft room. Does Churchills allow cigarettes? Thanks for any tips!

There is no lower deck on the outside of the ship since they have central park in the middle, so it sounds like there are 3 areas to smoke. The casino and by the pools on 15 & 16. Explorer of the Seas - Casino, cigar lounge, and one side on the outside of decks 4, 11, and 12.

Smokers just want to know where the smoking areas are on each ship, so it would be nice if there was a place to list each location on each ship. It helps to know when deciding on the location of our cabin.

 

Usually each ship has a low and high deck outdoor location, an indoor bar or cigar lounge and casino smoking area. Please list the ship you were last on and all the locations for smoking and we might end up with a good list.

 

It is nice to know if there is seating with or without cushions and if it is covered or has some walls and if is by a bar or other landmark.
