Exactly indeed! I'm sick AND tired of the *Carnival is not as good as anything else, especially not as good as the ship I'M going on* mentality that oftentimes prevails on CC. Lol, hence my disappearing for many months at a time. Although, as a side note, at my advanced age it's led to the forgetting of my login info and having to start anew a few times...You point out exactly the point I was making! Stuffy people who think they are better than everyone else. All kinds of people go on every different cruise line. That is some of the problem I have with this board. Fortunately, I have met wonderful people at meet and greets who are members of this board. I have been cruising on Carnival since I was 20 years old. I am not 55+ but I see people of all ages. They are having fun. It gets irritating the things people say about Carnival.Sent from my iPad using Forums
We started as a family on CCL, we stayed into our elder years because we love it! The few forrays into other lines did not seem like a good fit for us. THE most ludicrous statement that got me was the *budget* label. 2 last year. 3 already booked for this year. ALL balconies (because I'm a big baby that has to be able to see the horizon to not get sometimes woozy) as have EVERY single cruisin adventure we've been on.
Whew, I can feel the ole BP rising...
Think I'll go look at our Carnival Cruise Lines Wall of Fun for a bit ;)

Yes, Yes, YES! Couldn't agree with you more. The way people come on here, a LOT from *other* Cruiselines, to bash and ONLY bash Carnival is pathetic. Lol, I left a couple years ago due to that junk, and here I am back. We love Cruisin Carnival! Their array of ships provide something for everyone, and our large extended family of many varying interests appreciates that very much!I am a shareholder, a consumer, and a Diamond member of Carnival. I do not feel that they have taken a step down for any of those segments. They have developed 2.0 features for their new ships and have been adding them or parts of it on every class of ship in their fleet. And many of the things in 2.0 are NOT additional costs. And they have added some higher end dining options that are additional cost. I will take those changes and enjoy them as opposed to complaining about "cutbacks" like getting rid of cheap chocolates on pillows, not putting razors and lotions in the bathroom because the manufacturers decided to stop giving them free for that purpose, pretending that you can only get your cabin serviced once a day, pretending that there are no robes anymore, and constantly ragging Carnival about things that every other cruise line worth its salt have been doing as well. If you call those things letting the product slip, then you need to just pack up and go somewhere else. You obviously would be much "happier", but you may also realize that your expectations of those other lines will lead you to complaining about them just like you are complaining about Carnival now. Happy hunting.[emoji924]️ Cruisin Trkrs [emoji597]

[emoji106] [emoji106] [emoji106] No you're not. We LOVE the Conquest Class Ships the best! They've got everything we need, at a great size.I'd like to see them reverse course, get away from trending toward mega ships, and get back to building ships the size of the Conquest class ships, with more public space and fewer passengers. I'm probably in the minority here, but I'd LOVE to cruise on a brand new Conquest class ship.[emoji924]️ Cruisin Trkrs [emoji597]

Gosh, hopefully one day you'll be able to. I'd probably be very agitated if our journey Cap One didn't work(or starts not to), lol I'm cheap and only use our cc's for the points. Thanks, I'll try that. I'm able to use my debit card from my local bank on the AARP site with the same address with no problem so I'm not missing out on the 10% perk. I just wish I could use my Capital One card for it.[emoji924]️ Cruisin Trkrs [emoji597]

Oh yeah, I did have to put our addy(street) in all caps. But it's been that way for me the last couple years I've gotten them off of aarp rfg.

I've used BOTH our Cap One Journey and Carnival M/C to buy 5+3 $100 AND 2 $500 gc's since the beginning of June. The only problem I ran into was with the Cap One, I had to add the back 4 numbers onto our zip code. Lol, strange but it kept kicking it back for incorrect addy... You might want to try that and see if it takes. I hope it gets worked out for all that have been having problems with the purchases. That 10% is a great perk. Imo anyway.

ANDandPeople are dissatisfied with the Sunshine
people absolutely love her...

That would be great! We sailed on her last October for our annual Halloween Cruise. The entire Serenity area was amazing. The waterfall is our favorite public area on her. Never got to know her as Destiny, but we absolutely love her as Sunshine. That waterfall pool on Sunshine needs to be rolled out on ALL future Carnival new builds. It's beautiful to look at and fun to be in the pool and under the waterfall.[emoji924]️ Cruisin Trkrs [emoji597]

Lol, ahhh those were the Good Ole Days! My Hubs and I both carried a bag phone on our trucks. We needed them to contact a shipper/receiver quite a bit for directions that certainly were NOT on any map, GPS wasn't quite there for land yachts yet. Refers or Dry Vans. Oh boy, Hunts Point in da Bronx NY comes to mind! :DHeck, I can remember when cell phones were "bricks" or "bag phones".Of course it was VERY peaceful back then also, the whole world didn't seem to care what you ate for breakfast, or how cute your kids were whilst picking their noses, ect... You used a phone, in whatever style it was, to *communicate* [emoji6]

No surge protectors on ships has been the Rule for quite a few years now. Fire is a very dangerous risk on a ship. As you stated, you were not aware of it. I'm thankful that you are now. No need to get the ole feathers ruffled [emoji3]... Life's short, Cruise on.Which I have just been made aware of. Just sharing my experience.[emoji924]️ Cruisin Trkrs [emoji597]
-
Completely agree! That is surge protected and should not be taken on any cruise ship whether you get away with it or not.It only takes one sneak-it-on to spoil the soup for everyone. Lol, we could care less about phones while Cruisin, we do use USB chargers(((NOT surge protected))) for our video cameras. Rules are in place for a good reason. We all pay good money to cruise. The lines ALL do their best for us to have not only an enjoyable time, but a safe time. #FollowTheRules [emoji654]️our motto[emoji16]

110 Ecstasy, Bahamas.
244 Breeze, Eastern Caribbean.
August 2019 also, but the kids cannot decide which itinerary they want to do this time. Only that it has to be before school starts... Lol I much prefer Cruisin while school is in session.

Not snarky, negative, ect. at all. Lol I completely agree! Yes I'm old. Yes I absolutely love them[emoji3]... When we bring our 7yo, and or the Grands, sometimes with our older kids & sometimes without, and even when we cruise blissfully alone, We Love Them... It's entirely a subjective thing. So don't worry about what anyone else may or may not think of your thoughts. You own them. Celebrate that. We do. It makes for happier Cruisin. Happier life.I don't mean this to sound snarky, negative, offensive, or any of those words, but I suspect your opinion on towel animals - though I do respect it as yours - is in a very small minority. Kids love them, as do many adults. I am one of those adults and would miss them if the tradition were stopped. They are a part of the Carnival cruise experience for me, something familiar and pleasant, sort of like a comfort food, I guess.:)[emoji924]️ Cruisin Trkrs [emoji597]

[emoji817]% agree!!!People are cheap and will continue to be so as long as the cruise lines continue to let them be that way. Cheapskates = people who remove auto gratuities.Lol, my darling Hubs has other words for those that stiff all the hardworking staff. Suffice it to say that I'll refrain from mentioning his verbage...

[emoji817][emoji818]️Agree!I love the "If he proposes with a fake ring, I may have to reconsider" response. Because apparently, love can be measured by the size/cost of a ring. Screw all the happy times you had together, screw all the experiences you shared. Screw the actual love between you two. It's all about a fat ring, right? Some people, ffs...
And we've got 35, going on 36 amazing years of marriage.

Very sound advice!Use a qvc diamonique stunt double as a ring. Since you probably can't hide it in the safe from her just where would you keep it secure? So for the naysayers....of course you buy the stunt double in the same carat size and setting as the real thing...which you can leave at home until you return and yes she will...or at least she should understand and I'm not suggesting the stunt double be 3 carats and the real thing just 1 carat. As an added bonus the stunt double can be used on your honeymoon and all subsequent trips where it's better to leave fine jewelry at home.
But if you insist on using the real ring be advised your travel insurance won't cover it if lost or stolen.
Be sure to have regular insurance
Fwiw. The last thing I need to do is wear my expensive jewelry on a cruise
And yes I know every poster here will now say they wear the family jewels with no issue...for the past 30 years...ring has never left your finger..they'd have to cut it off etc etc
Still use a stunt double.

I completely agree.

Yes they are![emoji3] Kudos to our ONLY cruise line, #Carnival [emoji817][emoji818]️, in their fast response and generous compensation to all affected by the water line break!!![emoji924]️Sounds like Carnival is being more than fair in their offerings to guests who are inconvenienced by the water main break.[emoji924]️ Cruisin Trkrs [emoji597]

Indeed. Heartily agree!Exactly....People just need to mind their own business. Its not their issue. Its a Cruise critic and moderator issue. They can remove if they feel its not appropriate. Geez....this site is just getting so "pissy"Lol it's been getting *that way* for a couple years now...[emoji849]

Yes! Exactly!!! Really puts it in perspective on the scale of things.Wow, we are leaving tomorrow for a cruise this weekend. Woke up today and one of our toilets backed up. I thought "great" something always goes wrong before a vacation. However, I saw these pics and realized that the ships have problems too and a great crew to take care of them. I can see the Carnival is already in damage control but I understand that stuff happens. Good luck Dream cruisers.Stuff certainly does happen in life. I wish only the best for those cruisin now also... And all of us Cruisin from now on[emoji3]
