At this point it sounds like governments will have to be involved. Someone has to see that you get home sometime. Meanwhile you just cruise along on the ship. Must be a very frustrating situation.

On board.
We are going to Rio because US government has decided to come into the game, and want non US off the ship before FL. UK government is facilitating us lot as many already have confirmed flights we could catch.
All depends on Brazil.
Short message as I'm just about to go to dinner and what might be last meal on board!
That's good news for you! When you get off be sure to sanitize a lot. Right now you are safe and virus free. It's out in the general public that you need to be careful of now! Enjoy dinner and thanks for the updates.

We appreciate updates from anyone onboard. Please be sure to indicate you are on the ship so we know it's accurate and first hand. Many people are following this and looking forward to hearing you've made it all the way home safely. So many sea days will be hard but do try and enjoy the ship. Safe travel and keep the updates coming!

Nice idea!
Slight Chaos on board as princess have just issued a form asking if we want to get off in Rio. To be handed in by 17.00 local time with passports. However they also said no agreement in place with Brazil.
UK group meeting at 17.00 to debate. Random view is stay put.
I'm in bar having a beer until then!
Thanks for the info.
Please keep us informed.

It's good to hear you experienced travel guys from UK and Aus area give your thoughts. Even though the Coral is making her way back, there's still a lot to plan for. Thanks to those onboard that have given updates.

I was just curious wondering if there were several cabins at this time if they had offered to let the remaining passengers have a better cabin for the remaining cruise. Especially since it has been so stressful. It never hurts to ask!

Not at present. We still have bars, trivia although less frequently. We are hoping that as we proceed back to Fort Lauderdale that the casino will open, maybe some shows, bingo, shops, etc.
Probably when you're back in open water again things will be available.

Absolutely agree! We are still onboard and intend to enjoy the rest of our travels.... even if the only port we get to visit is Fort Lauderdale! 😉
Continue to be positive! You have 2 more weeks onboard so relax and enjoy the cruise! Someday it will be a great story!

There are 1024 passengers and 875 crew.
Just curious...
Is everyone in their original cabins or have they moved anyone? Like an inside to a balcony?

Yes it is. I cannot say enough about how Princess and the Captain and crew have treated us. These are difficult times but knowing Princess would fulfill their commitments to the passengers comforting. I know this is costing the financially but every action they have taken has shown their commitment to passenger safety and well-being. Uncommon in today’s world.
It's good to hear you are comfortable and can still enjoy the ship. About how many passengers are on board now?
We appreciate the information you give us.

Debbie, I am so happy you made it home safely. The world has been changed by this. It must have been scary for you at times, being in a foreign place and wondering when you would get home. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. Glad you made it!

Yea!!!!
Now relax awhile and enjoy the rest until you arrive there.

I imagine many of the cruise ships are periodically coming into PE to re-fuel or re-stock. No passengers left on the ships. I have read that crews are getting turns with breaks at the Bahamian private beaches.
I think you're right.
Is the Coral the only cruise ship left with this situation??
It does sound like the staff and crew have been very accommodating and aware of the passenger travel safety to disembark the ship. It sounds like they are not letting them leave without assurance that they will get to their destination.

I travel solo and I know I would be starting to feel a little insecure right now. I hope they get home soon.
Please keep us informed as things happen.

I think the point was-
If the Caribbean is in FFL they should be able to allow the Coral in so these people can get home.
Just my interpretation..... 🙂

I've been following this thread from the beginning. This is a nightmare! Thanks for keeping us informed. If they decide to go to FLL they will somehow get you off or at least you'll be in a US port. You're probably going to be symtom free so that won't be an issue but you'll be departing into a mess. Be safe and we're looking forward to hearing you all get back home safely.

I never do formal dress. I wear casual dress and feel comfortable. I travel solo and don't pack a lot so it works for me. You'll see some dressed very formal and some more casual.

I have a cruise on hold until Feb 15. Anyone know if I can keep the booking at the current fare (if it's a better price) and pay the $1 deposit if that promo is on?

I don't know why they still have photo walls. Maybe that will eventually go with the facial recognition. RCCL has done the facial recognition kiosk thing for many years on the mega ships. Hate the cheezy stuff with people in costumes, also being bugged while dining or going off the ship in port. I never buy photos because they're too expensive and why is that since they're all digital?? I like the chocolates and turn down at night. I don't get that at home! I never use the spa after experiencing the high pressure sales pitch on my very first cruise for a simple manicure. I make 2 piles of all the paper stuff. One for the daily patters and one for the junk. At the end of the cruise the junk pile is large and it goes in the round file. It's just fun to see how large it is at the end! I don't do formal night- I save space by not packing extra stuff and only take a carry on to fly! I enjoy many things on my cruises and avoid the stuff I'm not interested in! To each his own!

I have S104 on the Discovery in March 2022. I don't mind if there is motion, it doesn't bother me. When I spoke to Princess about booking this cabin, I spoke to a wonderful agent that had been on the Sky when they floated it out. He got a tour of all the cabins. When he saw what cabin I had put on hold he was excited for me saying it was an amazing cabin because of the windows and view. I was debating between this OV and a Balcony. His response was so great and since he had seen this cabin, I was sold on the OV. I'm excited for this new ship to come to the went coast!

I don't have an issue with perks for loyalty. I do have an issue with the attitude of someone calling other people "lower class". It's a snobbish and degrading attitude and really unnecessary. That's not what these boards are for.

Why not? They've earned it over the years by sailing Princess more than the others. Who really cares what the lower class people think if an Elite get preference to tender seat?
Let them earn their way just like the rest of us.
A very bitter troll!

Is Princess Passenger Service Desk still assuring everyone that they will provide travel back to your home countries? And if clearance can't be obtained they'll have to keep you onboard indefinitely?? If able to disembark but not get flight to home country will they arrange and pay hotel, food, and then flights home?? I know you don't have all this info. It's a very unknown situation and I'm wondering just what they have said as reassurance. People sound like stress and frustration is setting in.
