  1. Rebekah- We just got off ithe Epic in February. We had a wonderful time. We live by the motto "No cruise is a bad cruise. It is all what you make it,". If you are midship, you are okay, equal distance to both elevators. Ships lay out is a little getting used to, and you do have to go through the casino a lot to get to where you want to go. Entertainment was really great. I guess that would be relative though to your liking. We liked to chill at the Martini Bar and Maltings. We enjoyed the entertainment they had in the evenings. We enjoy jazz and they had a good jazz band playing try and make Fat Cats and the Comedy Club..Food was great as well. Some places were better than others. We went to the specialty restaurants. Cagneys was okay, the Brazilian restaurant was our favorite. The Italian was good but not great. The service we received was really good as well. Sometimes not fast, but again that was okay. We could enjoy the company of everyone at the table. I think the rule of thumb is, if you make an effort to be nice to the staff they will be nice to you. Whenever we asked for anything, it was never a problem and they were willing to do what they could. The cabins are a little smaller than we were used to. The balconey though was worth it. We stayed in the aft. Now we get to the bathroom---- having the sink in the room was not a problem and the shower was a little smaller than we thought as well, BUT our friends had a family balcony and the shower was huge. The bathroom layout was a little getting used to as well and we did get used to it. We weren't sure if we would like the Epic or not. We were used to ships like Pride of America and Pearl and Radiance. My husbands balance is not good and we thought that might be an issue. BUT-- my husband said he loved the ship and would go on it again in a minute, so would I. Forget about the reviews. Go and enjoy every minute. You will have a great time.

  2. Kenlyn -We are sailing on the 15th. We have sailed in the suite cabins the last 3 or 4 tiimes. Before that we were aft balcony fanatics. We decided to go back to aft because of the price difference and we are trying to book a Panama Canal Cruise for February of 2016. That most definitely will be a suite. The other thing some people are saying is that the bed is next to the closet making it hard to get into. I am thinking I need to change.

  3. Just booked the EPIC for February2015. I wanted an aft and they gave me 13284. The corner 13278 is available and I didn't see that til after the booking. Is there a reason I don't

want the corner aft on deck 13? Or does it matter.

  4. I asked this on another forum and probably should have asked here first. . Lately when we have booked our cruises, I have booked directly with the cruiseline. The last 3 times our cabin has been a suite and I always receive a call from NCL asking me about pillows, if we needed anything special in our suite upon arrival and all that good stuff. i get there name and if We need anything I've always been instructed to call. Here is my question. Because there are some really good perks with a travel agency I am thinking of booking through them, extra OBC, pre paid gratuities, etc. If I do that, will I still get my wonderful phone call from NCL about my suite and what I might want or need? I know that if you book through the TA, NCL will have you go through that TA for any questions or changes.

  5. This may be stupid but----For as many times as I have cruised, I have never Really thought about this. Lately when we have booked our cruises, I have booked directly with the cruiseline. 6. Thanks everybody for the suggestions. We will probably be coming in a few days before the cruise starts. We like to go a few days early in case our luggage doesn't make it. We stand a little better chance of getting it before we get on the cruise. Culver City or Santa Monica might work then. I've only stayed in San Diego and San Francisco so not really familiar with LA, except for San Pedro.

  7. Yes, people are still reading your review! I for one have just finished it a second time. We will be going on our cruise in May after having to cancel a cruise to Hawaii on 3 other occasions. The first being when the Independance cancelled all cruises because of bankruptcy and the other 2 because of schedule conflicts with business. I really like to plan ahead, which sometimes can be a problem LOL Thank you so much for all the work you did in writing your review. It is wonderful to read! What you did on your trip has helped me a lot in deciding what to do. You really should consider making your photos public on snapfish. It would be great to see them. Again - Thank you!!!
