We were in. SXM a few months ago for a week. We loved the bus cheap and easy. When going from. French to Dutch you have to get off near the KFC and go around the rotary. The busses come quick and the people on them are so nice.

It says that it is a Travel Pass country. For $10 per day, you can use your domestic talk, text and data.
Yes, I was there few months ago 10.00 per day on Verizon

Any advice would be great! Thanks!

I have a question about the clam shells. Which area of the island are they located? I don't like the side with the ragged coral. I want to be able to swim close by.
Thanks!
So not going to play devils advocate but....we were on Labadee twice over Christmas and New Years and all we booked was the Clam Shells on the beach. I think we paid $40 for the two of us and we pretty much had the whole section of the beach to ourselves. It looked like nobody wanted to pay the extra and it was perfect. There was probably 50 of the shelters on our section of the beach and I think there was one other couple the whole day we were there.Admittedly we got nothing else included like soft drinks etc. but it was extremely peaceful and the lifeguards made sure that nobody used the shelters that hadn't paid for them. When we stepped away from them to get food etc. the other parts of the resort were packed with people, but we found our own little oasis and all for only $40 so we were very happy.

Yeah!!!!! So happy.Thanks!!!!
I believe the Beach for Suite Guests is Barefoot Beach, Nellie's is for anyone...

No sunset views at Maho
quote=Karysa;52903015]It takes about 45 minutes. Sunset Cafe or Calmos are nice spots for Happy Hour and Sunset.
Perhaps others know of closer beaches for sunset.
I know of some but they don't have facilities.
One of the beach bars at Maho is called Sunset Bar and Grill and location on the island makes me think they might have a nice sunset there.
My husband likes Simpson Bay but I don't remember the sun setting over the water there.

I was having troubles too. Try calling very helpful!

Is Nelly's for suite people only? Can you sit on the beach or do you have to rent a cabana? Back in the day that was my fav spot but I don't think I can go there because I'm not renting a cabana or a suite guest.

Thanks!
[Wquote=LouTheGlue;53345367]No, you just need a valid drivers license. The Trikes in St. Maarten are all automatic, plus they'll give you a short driving lesson before you go.

Do you have to know how to ride a motorcycle to do this?

why couldn't you record each other?
Great review so far. Thanks for posting!
We had iFly reservations for 11, so we went aft top deck to checked out the rock climbing wall, flowrider then went into iFly. It was Loads of fun but they wouldn’t let me bring my go pro. I thought I could record my wife while she flew and she could record me when it was my turn but no dice. Too bad we didn’t know anyone else around that we could ask to record for us. Anyways it was a blast. -
Have you been to Mullet? It's very nice but only has a Porto potty for a washroom. It's close to Maho so you could do both. Simpson Bay is also a good option. Look in to Karakter beach bar.
Love love love Mullett! Karater is awesome too. If youbwant great beach p!us awesome beach go to Mullett and walk to Maho (15 min walk)

I tried to book all MTD tonite, but when i checked it on the calendar it only lists my shows and one night of MTD
what am I doing wrong? thanks!

I'm going next week for a week and your pan sounds great!
I'm staying at Mayo resort and curious how far of a walk is it to Simpson Bay?
Thanks!
-
Thanks!!!!
Actually taxes and a $15 port charge and it's $59. Toyota Corolla. My insurance policy covers us for rental cars so I didn't get any additional coverage. -
We have a reservation at Hertz for May. Under $50 at the port.
Is that with taxes and insurance? Do I need to bring any paperwork from the states to rent?
What kind of car did you rent?
-
Yes I am spending the week on island. Any suggestions?
I keep going back and fourth on getting a car for a few days or just taking taxis\ busses. I will probably have a drink or two and worry about driving. What do you think?
Thanks.

sweet!!!!!
I don't do weddings. I'm not comfortable acting like a people person in general and the thought of dealing with even one raging MOBzilla (Mother Of Bride) keeps me shooting in friendlier environments...like in a boat twenty yards from an erupting volcano. That said, I have violated this rule for family and friends and Saturday found me in violation yet again. Our friends' niece got married to a very nice young man in his parents' lovely back yard and I donated my time, feet, knees and a couple dozen gigabytes of storage to record the day's festivities. Fun was had, people were nice and the picture of the week was provided by the charming bride and her two doting aunts.Sweet Things Attract Aunts

Hi,
We will be in SXM for a wee! over Easter. I was curious if everything his closed that day. Do locals stay home or celebrate at the beach? Does the celebration spill over to Easter Monday? Trying to p!an accordingly.
Thanks
