  2. I have a question about the clam shells. Which area of the island are they located? I don't like the side with the ragged coral. I want to be able to swim close by.

    Thanks!

So not going to play devils advocate but....we were on Labadee twice over Christmas and New Years and all we booked was the Clam Shells on the beach. I think we paid $40 for the two of us and we pretty much had the whole section of the beach to ourselves. It looked like nobody wanted to pay the extra and it was perfect. There was probably 50 of the shelters on our section of the beach and I think there was one other couple the whole day we were there.

Admittedly we got nothing else included like soft drinks etc. but it was extremely peaceful and the lifeguards made sure that nobody used the shelters that hadn't paid for them. When we stepped away from them to get food etc. the other parts of the resort were packed with people, but we found our own little oasis and all for only $40 so we were very happy.

  3. No sunset views at Maho

quote=Karysa;52903015]It takes about 45 minutes. Sunset Cafe or Calmos are nice spots for Happy Hour and Sunset.

Perhaps others know of closer beaches for sunset.

I know of some but they don't have facilities.

One of the beach bars at Maho is called Sunset Bar and Grill and location on the island makes me think they might have a nice sunset there.

My husband likes Simpson Bay but I don't remember the sun setting over the water there.

  4. why couldn't you record each other?

We had iFly reservations for 11, so we went aft top deck to checked out the rock climbing wall, flowrider then went into iFly. It was Loads of fun but they wouldn’t let me bring my go pro. I thought I could record my wife while she flew and she could record me when it was my turn but no dice. Too bad we didn’t know anyone else around that we could ask to record for us. Anyways it was a blast.

  5. Have you been to Mullet? It's very nice but only has a Porto potty for a washroom. It's close to Maho so you could do both. Simpson Bay is also a good option. Look in to Karakter beach bar.

Love love love Mullett! Karater is awesome too. If youbwant great beach p!us awesome beach go to Mullett and walk to Maho (15 min walk)

I don't do weddings. I'm not comfortable acting like a people person in general and the thought of dealing with even one raging MOBzilla (Mother Of Bride) keeps me shooting in friendlier environments...like in a boat twenty yards from an erupting volcano. That said, I have violated this rule for family and friends and Saturday found me in violation yet again. Our friends' niece got married to a very nice young man in his parents' lovely back yard and I donated my time, feet, knees and a couple dozen gigabytes of storage to record the day's festivities. Fun was had, people were nice and the picture of the week was provided by the charming bride and her two doting aunts.
