  1. Speaking of comment surveys, that was another thing we noticed. We were never provided with survey cards to make any comments. We weren't sure if Carnival does that on the cruise (like Royal and Celebrity). I thought maybe they send an e-mail survey after the cruise. We didn't get the opportunity to give our thoughts.

They now send them by email. Maybe you were just not selected :/

  2. How many years had they held the previous price? If you average it out it's not that big an increase.

Until you try and sell it to your group that they will be paying $50.60 a couple for an hour of drinking.

We could probably break even except for...

In the past we did not get another drink without a wait of up to 10 minutes cause everyone else was ordering. Or 15 minutes between order and delivery of a drink from the wandering waiter.

And the size of the glasses are smaller than the ones you buy at the bar. In the past it has not been a problem cause it still was worth the money.

But now, (our next cruise lets say) We have a large group of people who have never cruised and are not used to paying resort prices for drinks to start with. They are not going to feel at all comfortable shelling out $50.60 for a party.

Oh well it was good while it lasted!!

  3. No argument from me. It took me a while to get on the Canadian site because I saved my log-in on the US site. Had to delete my cookies...YOWZA! Anyway, you're right. I thought I already tried them all. :D You learn something new every day.

They also have Captain Morgan 1680 which I have only seen on some of the islands like Grand Cayman:)

Black as the night, and a hint of Molasses

  4. Guessing that is not quite accurate.

With the New Carnival guarantee you have the option of getting off at the first port and flying home which could be a Caribbean port.

Or what about the people who are put off the ship for bad behavior??

Or if you miss the ship??

  5. so excited now, just had a look at my new room with the balcony and it looks amazing.....it's an L shape and looks as though there is loads of room.....but then there's only 2 of us, think it would be tight with 3

Three would be tight in my opinion too. Unless number 3 slept on the balcony! :D

  6. I do not have any photos loaded but have stayed in the L shaped rooms twice. If it is offered on a class I will book them every time!!! I had one on the Glory and one last year on the Dream. The biggest advantage is the extra window and crazy long balcony. If you search the internet for something like cruise ship and rooms you can find photos out there!:)

The only thing you will be giving up in the room is the sofa.

  7. We just got off the same cruise Cruise Pirate......we had a great cruise!!!! The food, service, crew and staff were 10 times better than what we had on the Dream in. October!!!! !

I agree 1000 percent! We got off the Dream in Sept. and booked our 2013 fall cruise on RCCL becasue the service, crew and staff were horrible and left us with a bad taste.

However, the Fascination fixed that:) I guess that is why the Fascination is almost always in the top 5 for customer satisfaction.

  8. Have not been to dinner buffets. Sorry. But service in the MDR and everywhere else on the ship is a thousand times better and more personable than the Dream was for us in Sept. I guess that is why the Fascination is almost always in the top 5 customer rated ships for carnival each month :)

  9. Oh thats great to hear enjoy!! I would like to hear when you get back what they offer as far as food in the lunch buffets. My being gluten and not liking to eat seafood makes things so limited for me. Like to know whether they offer soups, meat carvings and veggies at the lunch buffet. Also, if possible like to know what is offered at the dinner buffets since we not care for the dining room food much. Last cruise this past October on the Dream we dined at the steakhouse six evenings, unfortunately the Fascination not have a specialty restaurant. What are the shows offered.

    You have a wonderful cruise.

Will try and get you the info, getting ready for the muster drill adios!! :)

  10. Hmm - I see the one you're talking about... I don't remember a bar in that area, so it may be one of the new ones that were put in place during the last drydock. In any case, that would be right up under the after side of the "Whale Tail," possibly too close to see how the after masthead light almost brushes the bottom of the bridge.

We had a M&G of about 50 people on the starboard stub last April, and it wasn't crowded. Most folks don't even know they are there until someone takes them to it. For all their proximity to the Coconut Grove, they're actually a pretty good "lonely spot" to go and relax and watch the ship's wake on a sea day, and they overlook the Serenity Area for all the voyeurs in the crowd. ;)

ADDED: Remember - as with all "weather" areas, the starboard stub is smoking, the portside is non-smoking.

We are on the Fascination right now. Looks to be in good shape but they did NOT put the red frog or Blue Iguana on it. Talked to one of the poolside drink servers and he said they did not have enough time in Drydock to put them in. But overall it is shaping up to be a great cruise. :)
