Morning! We are sailing Costa Deliziosa Jan 13 2018! It will be our first Costa cruise and we are excited! My uncle just found out what cruise we are on and got every excited! Says we will love Costa! And he has 22 cruises under his belt! I will try to remember to report back after our Cruise! I've read about the new ship coming and would love to sail her!

All Suite types have the Perk or Luxuries EXCEPT MINI Suites.

Mini suites do not have the suite luxuries... They are larger than a premium Balcony and have an extra chair in cabin and a nicer head with glass shower stall instead of a curtain..

Right now, some of the On-line travel agencies have better deals than Costa Cruise. I just completed a new reservation with one and Costa was Just fine with me doing so! Transferred my deposit to the new reservation! After all, I am still sailing Costa and they can re-rent my aft PB for more than what I had reserved it for back in April!

We went from Aft PB to Aft MS for $500 Less!!!! ($250 pp) I am very happy!

We are Sailing Costa Deliziosa Jan 13, 2018 out of Ft Lauderdale on a 10 day Western Caribbean Cruise. The ports are:

Key West - Florida,

George Town - Grand Cayman,

Roatan (Isla Roatan) - Bay Islands - Honduras,

Belize City - Belize,

Costa Maya (Mahahual) - Mexico,

Cozumel, Mexico.

As far as I can tell, I think only Key west will probably change.

Today, we got an email from Costa stating that Caribbean cruise port changes due to the hurricanes will be announced tomorrow. I think all Carnival corp cruise lines will be making the same announcement.

I thought I would share our experience back in 2006 after Hurricane Wilma (Oct 25, 2005). It was a Western Caribbean cruise (HAL Westerdam) in January 2006. Our ports were adjusted and a new port added: Santo Tomas de Castilla which at that time, was a commercial port and not a Cruise port. They set up temporary Vendor/souvenir shelters and excursions. It ended up being our favorite port (if not the most dangerous at the time) It now is a regular port on some Itineraries. Some of the ports (including Key West) were not fully operational but great efforts had been made to accommodate the the cruise passenger industry. Half Moon Cay (HAL's private island) had not re-opened yet so another port was added. The Cruise line was very good about updating us before the cruise. I think they wait to assess the damage, how long it will be to rebuild, and adjust the itinerary accordingly. I think we were notified in late November or early December of the changes.

So I would check and see what other Itineraries Crystal has around that time and otherwise wait for them to tell you what changes they are making. Cruising is an adventure and these next 6-12 mos will be interesting! And I know our cruise will be amazing - Wherever we go!! Happy Sailing!

I think, as others have said, that it's important that the folks in these ports have the ability to recover and when they do, that the Cruise Industry return the passengers to help their businesses recover.

Hurricanes are, unfortunately, just the risky part of the Caribbean Cruise experience! We will go wherever they take us and I will be grateful I was able to go!

I received an email that their offices in Florida are closed today through early next week for the safety of their employees. Very glad they took that precaution!

Hello! glad to see this thread active again! We haven't been on a cruise since November 2014 so have booked a 10 day with Costa Cruise lines out of Fort Lauderdale on January 13th 2018! We are VERY excited!!!!

Wow! Great advise! I did book ours over the phone but had not compared with other country's Costa sites... have been checking for price drops but nothing so far. One site predicts that the price will go up so we may not get a better offer but I was satisfied with the price we got at booking.

Hi Tom! That is the same cruise that we are going on!! We are planning on the drink package as well! So what cabin was your "lucky" one? We got a rear facing balcony and are so looking forward to it! I think we are just excited about having a different adventure on this cruise! We are very Excited!

Thanks for the advise tenpin... I think that we may have more English speakers because of the embarkation port but we are still hoping to experience other nationalities and go with the flow in general to.... I didn't know about the welcome parties so we will look for that!

I believe that the service charge is mandatory for USA citizens as well. However, I have always followed protocol for tipping / svc charge as I know this is a vital portion of their pay.
