  1. celebrity should be very clear about the reservations and what the restaurant will be. That said, we have seen Le Petit Chef 2x. if people think this a cartoon for kids they are not understanding, appreciating the overall complexity of this experience. To sit in a room of people all laughing at 3D figures RIGHT ON YOU PLATE (without VR glasses) is so unique. The animation, we were told takes 24 hour to create 10 seconds. LPC usually plays in Europe for over 150/pp. This is a standout memory for us on our cruise. I think Celebrity does a poor job marketing this, but innovations like this is what keeps us on Celebrity. It's the only MUST DO on our next Celebrity cruise.

  2. We thought the MDR were very good, Normandie being our favorite.

    Fine cut: 4/5 noise problem

Eden: 3.5/5 Good effort but needs fixing

Roof Top Grill 4.5/5 contingent on the weather

    Le Petit Chef 5/5 -

LPC is a real standout. This should not be compared to a regular meal. It's an experience and a good one. We've been on 30 cruises - most fun/memorable dinner we've had at sea. Don't even know what would be second.

Rather than La Spezia, which is perfectly nice but kind of vanilla, consider staying in Portovenere.  You can get the ferries to Cinque Terre from there and it's a beautiful little waterfront town, with enough restaurants and a range of hotels to choose from.  There's also a large municipal parking garage where you can safely leave the car.

Do you know what town the ferry is? This sounds like a great idea. We had planned to go to Cinque Terre too but based on others feedback about crowds, I like your idea better. Any hotel and restaurant suggestions in Portovenere or nearby?

  4. Wow! I am so glad I clicked on this feed. We have never been to Europe and going on our first trip in August. We will travel a couple places in Northern Italy and then our cruise on the Edge. So with private tours you don't tip but at restaurants you do tip? Sorry. Please clarify.

  5. Murano is great for an anniversary dinner. Upscale and refined. You can also look at Le Petit Chef. It's a 4 course surf and turf meal with a wonderfully delightful animated show throughout. Really good choice if you're looking for something new and fun. The food is also delicious.

  6. I wholeheartedly agree! We had a great time when we were on Infinity. Everyone has captured so many wonderful memories. For anyone with an upcoming trip, check out Le Petit Chef for dinner.  It was a delicious 4 course meal with a fun and entertaining show to watch. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

  7. In my opinion, these shows are far from kitschy. I've read up about the history of LPC and these are "Events" created by a team of artists that work 24 hours to create each second of animation. The technology took 8 years to develop and plays around the world for like $200 per person. I actually feel lucky to be able to see it here in the states on this cruise line. We've always loved Celebrity and we were happy to experience something new and cool. And will see it again .

  8. Yes, Murano is a great upscale evening. But for your second choice, I vote for Qsine. The Le Petit Chef show is really special and should not be missed. I read about the world renown artists from Belgium who designed it. It's all very cool. The technology took years to perfect and it takes months to create the animation. These dining events in Europe and abroad are much more expensive. So see it on Celebrity! The food was great as well. Win-win!
