  1. My 11yr old is addicted to steak and I want to take him with me to the Crown Grill on our upcoming Hawaiian cruise but I wanted to make sure there’s not a much smaller/crap menu for Kids. I’ve looked and looked and can not find a kids menu so I’m hoping that kids can just order off the regular menu. Thanks for any info!

  2. There’s nothing stopping you from going and enjoying your steak and then going to the MDR! I do it all the time, the staff doesn’t mind if you only order apps either, (I do that all the time to) 🙂

Just booked a father-son cruise for next August on one of Carnival Magic's new sailings out of Norfolk (got a GREAT deal).  My son LOVED Camp Ocean on his first Carnival cruise in 2019 on Vista (he was in the age 2-5 Penguins group back then), and he's looking forward to going back to Camp Ocean as a Stingray (age 6-8) this time.

Does anyone have recent kids' program schedules or experiences to share from Camp Ocean on Magic?  I saw posts from March indicating that the Camp Ocean dinner in the buffet had not yet resumed, the sessions on Sea Days were shorter to allow for cleaning, and the late night program (after 10pm for a fee) had not yet resumed.  Is this still the case?

Many thanks for any info you can provide!

i just got off the magic on Oct 1 with both my kids (m and f) staff was great! One of my kids even got one of those notes from the staff for how much they enjoyed time with my kid in the camp.

my only complaint with this camp is it is one of the most out of the way one’s possible it’s like on the top floor really far away!

my son would have been in the same room as your kiddos age group and there was a lot of fun activities. I do find that post Covid camp ocean is closed a whole lot more than before.

my son kind of lives on the game systems the entire time but they have times where they play games together. I think they had a magician one day and they had a lot of art and lots and lots of “open play” times. A couple of scavenger hunts,  this was just

when I was looking on the Carnival HUB app.

late night programs for sure are back on my son begged to stay a couple nights past 10 PM… Just to play video games. LOL

We sailed Magic, Splendor, Radiance and Miracle this last year. I took my kids on five cruises total and I don’t recall seeing anything different on any of the boats so if you could just pick up any activity chart through camp ocean on any of the other boats this year, they’re not going to be any different from what I can recall.

I did build a bear at sea with my kid this time as well though Camp Ocean  When went to Bermuda 2 months ago.

they also are bringing back the Dr. Seuss green eggs and ham breakfast. I’ll be on a cruise next week so I’m gonna see if they have it again.

We have a Havana balcony but I don't want to pay $129 for FTTF if I can access the Havana area when we arrive at 11AM. I don't mind sitting back there enjoying a Funship until the cabin is ready, however I don't want to shlep my stuff around the ship until 1:30 if I can't access the Havana area.  Anyone done these cabins recently and have info to share?  Thanks in advance...

I’m always a self debarker but for embarkation I’ve started to just let them have my luggage. Take a small bag with stuff you can’t go without so you don’t  worry too much.

Hi all, I am very new to this forum but have been asking my friends this question, but haven’t been able to get a solid answer. Why would you book an inside cabin when the balconey cabins have amazing views, light, and fresh air? Do you book an inside cabin because of better sleep (dark metal bunker-type room) or is it for seasickness since you can’t see the ocean? Just trying to wrap my head around the purpose of the inside cabin, since you are missing out on waking up to amazing views at sea with an inside cabin. Thanks!

    ~S. Cark

I’ve taken 5 cruises already this year. 4 were on this same sailing. I’m Good, I’ll take my free interior with free booze in the casino offer

I’ll be taking an inside cabin next week for a 5d Mexican Riviera.

i use my room a ton less than my husband does , but he loves just sitting around on Serenety deck or chilling in the spa (not the spa at the pool i mean like the sauna).

I’ve had a balcony on the other 5 this year, and I hardly ever touch the outside.  They cost 2x as much if not more. It was well worth it to go to Bermuda and the 15d to Hawaii i did but I’ve been on the Mexican riviera 24 times now. I’m good! The smell of Ensenada when I roll in at 8 am is a smell I wont miss. Haha

if I had a choice between a balcony on floor 3 or a interior on spa deck it would be spa deck alllll day long

Yes, you can cancel like anything else. Just go into the planner and bring up the order details and there should be a cancel button just the anything else. I've done it before when I forgot to use OBC and needed to cancel and rebook. It may take a few hours before the system clears and you can rebook because the system will still show you have an excursion until it clears but it will eventually (the next day tops).

Oh my gosh you are a gem!! I didn't even THINK to do that. I would have ended up on a useless 2 hour call with Carnival to find this out. XD

    Thank you!

Edit: Already found it and removed. ^.^

  7. You dont need a wifi plan to text others on the ship. (i dont buy wifi for my kids and they just have to do the add on) Anyone just needs to buy the 5$ text each other option on the app. Its all spotty no matter what you choose. Ill have long times where I cant get ahold of my hubby and we both have Highest Wifi package and the 5$ add on. Its not the boats fault its just the nature of where you are. I hope this helps!

  8. I've been on 5 since the restart and another 3 weeks from now. I defo notice the difference but so many of these cruises im taking are so cheap! I really look forward to sailing on something else but carnival keeps giving me fabulous rates.

    Things I've noticed

~it takes forever to get a drink

~ Not as nice service at the Alchemy bar

    ~Rushed/rude service at Steak house

Everywhere else I have 0 complaints

  9. I'm looking at a cruise for next year that I really want to go on. Its giving me the option to put 5 people in an ocean suite.

    Room 7264

How in the world is this possible? It says on the site it only fits 3 or 4 depending upon what site you are looking at,  and then on a video I watched it looks hardly larger than any normal balcony room.

    Anyone have experience?

Before yall judge its the hubby, myself and 3 kids *but there's NO info for that in the sail info yet so it could assume we are all 400 lb people.*

  10. I cruised with Carnival a lot as a younger child there’s probably 5+ cruises that aren’t listed on my VIFP numbers.

Anyone know if those numbers are able to be collected from before the VIFP Club existed?

i used to go on the Tropical and Jublille (we used to cruise 2+ times a year) with my parents as a child and none of those are on my record.

    thanks for any advice!

  11. Hi!

I took two back to back spring break cruises this last SB. Both cruises were booked full and was told the child to adult ratio was 1/1. (I’m a nerd for stats)

the only complaint is my 13 yr old was sexually harassed in an elevator at around 11pm by a group of boys one evening while

coming back from kids club. On these cruises there’s a lot and I mean a LOT of young families.

  12. I totally agree with you but would also like to add that I hate that so many of the song are oldies. I feel like the majority of people on the boat are my age or even younger (I’m 40) and the focus on stuff like 50s-60s type music while “iconic” is really boring and I’m surprised if it’s anyone else’s style. I remember they had this same music as a kid when I was on cruises.

I am on a cruise starting Saturday whose itinerary falls right into the oncoming Tropical Storm Fiona's track.  What does Carnival generally do in cases like this? I would assume they would sail away from the track and change port itinerary?  They wouldn't sail INTO the storm track and just tell people to stay in their rooms as the boat lists from side to side 🙂

Anyway just looking for some insight from those that have been in this situation preivously.

I’m on the Saturday Bermuda cruise out of NYC on the Magic. I’ve been wondering the same. Thanks for this post and all the info you guys!
