  1. I cannot concur more with @pontac on program director Oliver Groszer! Before moving to the Sineus, he was our program director on the Viking Sigyn (Passsage to Eastern Europe, 12 May 2019) and on the night of the big reveal mentioned he was transferring to the Viking Sineus at the beginning of June. He is all that Pontiac mentions above, as well as being positive, cheery, and kind, all day and every day. Viking is lucky to have him on staff!
  2. Bob, Thank you so much for taking the time to give such a detailed review and upload so many gorgeous photos! I have enjoyed all of your posts and valuable comments, both pros and cons. We too are looking forward to our cruise; just booked for 2020! πŸ˜„
  3. Great article! thank you G.M.T. for posting it
  4. So happy that Jeannie is on the mend! What kindness and consideration from the Catherine's staff to help you! They really went the extra mile to make sure that Jeannie received the treatment she needed.
  5. I think the decor is part of the fun too!
  6. Bob, what a great day in MaΓ§on and Beaun! Thank you again for posting all of your wonderful photos and commentary. Your postings have continued to pique our interest in this cruise (I've just emailed Uniworld on availability for next year) πŸ˜ƒ However, I must say that my husband much prefers the decor on the Catherine to the Joie de Vivre! πŸ˜‚
  7. Hi Bob! Thank you for your very report and gorgeous photos!! I know that this takes a lot of time and effort to post these detailed posts, and it is most appreciated!! My husband and I are now planning to take a Uniworld cruise next year, and your information is giving us serious thoughts to take the Grand France cruise! πŸ˜€πŸ‡«πŸ‡·
  8. Euros and zloty always come home with us for our next trip! πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ
  9. Just awful! Thank goodness no one was injured.
  10. @I like vacation thank you for sharing the link. This is very good information to know. Thank goodness my experience was lucky!
  11. Same here. And that has been our experience whether on a cruise or just booking on our own for a trip. As an example, I paid for seats, chose them, and then a month later, they did not show up on my booking. I re-chose seats, and all was well, until three days before the flight. The aircraft had changed and we had no seats. Ugh!! But... we were able to get good seats at check-in. Like @Moonlion , everything did work out. And even if it hadn't, most are short flights, so not a big deal.
  12. We also did the Prague post-trip, but in 2017. The hotel at the time was about a 10-15 minute walk from the astronomical clock. However, there was another Viking tour that was lodged in a hotel that was only accessible to the city centre area by metro or the Viking shuttle. So verify your location before booking if you like to walk to attractions from your hotel. The convenience however was the transfer from Nuremberg to Prague. This year, we skipped the Budapest pre-cruise extension from Viking and made our own arrangements, as we were not fully satisfied with the location of the hotel selected by Viking. The pre-extension we did in 2017 was a much better hotel than what was offered this year. πŸ˜’
