  1. I’m not. Just my Type A wanting to have it all done early! 😋 And you’re spot on! They will ask even if I did it beforehand.
  2. See you tomorrow on Beyond! 😄
  3. That is exactly what happened to us too. I cannot access the health questionnaire but could see it yesterday and said too soon. 🤷‍♀️ Makes zero sense. I'd love to just have everything ready and done but I guess not.
  4. Thanks. Not ideal, but we will be ok. We managed with the pole inside our room on the Solstice class ships so we will be fine. However, good to know for the future.
  5. Do you have a pic of the infamous pole? I have never read about this. And of course, I am in room 10121. 😕
  6. My recollection is this: (take it for what it is worth, this was back when Camp At Sea was Fun Factory so obviously things may have changed.) - Kids club hours are usually not continuous, typically there are breaks in the day. However, there is a service you can use during those hours that will be an hourly rate. (ex: lunch party) - Yes, from my knowledge they still have the lunch/dinner/slumber parties. Again, you pay extra for those services at an hourly rate. I do not know the exact times, but I think it is usually around 6pm so you have to sign in your child at kids club prior to that. Again, things could have changed, this information is what I remember pre-covid. Hopefully someone on here has more recent knowledge.
  7. I have a 15 year old, granted a daughter, but from what you describe of your son I think he would enjoy a Celebrity cruise. My daughter prefers X over RCCL and Disney - as an only child she finds it is much easier -- esp during spring break -- to find kids on X to hang with. (In her personal experience, on the more family oriented ships, RCCL, NCL, DCL etc, during spring break it tends to be extended families all going together so kids have cousins to hang with.) Celebrity doesn't have that as much, so my daughter felt it was easier to get to know other peers. I think it would be good fit for both of you. You were on a ship during school, the ship is bound to have a lot less kids. Celebrity on Spring Break will definitely have a lot of kids. Granted, not as much as Oasis class ships, but a heck of a lot more than 3. On our Reflection Caribbean spring break cruise pre covid, I think they had over 400 kids.
  8. Party of 3. Never had to wait for a table at Luminae more than a couple of minutes on any of our cruises. (albeit I have only enjoyed it on Solstice class ships, haven't been on Edge series yet.) Was on Equinox this summer, the staff at Luminae is fabulous.
  9. I think it all depends upon who you have as the manager of the Camp at Sea. They certainly want to make you and your kids happy, and I can see them adjusting it so your boys can be together. However, my guess is it will depend upon how many kids they have in each age group. If they have an overload of 10-12 they could be more reluctant. (just a guess as I really don't know) I know I have been on a sailing when it was named Fun Factory (vs Camp at Sea) when my daughter was 8 or 9. They didn't have many kids that routinely came to Fun Factory on that cruise, so they combined the age groups and had different activities both could enjoy. I remember my daughter playing Anki Overdrive with the older kids and they all had a blast. Albeit, this was just one scenario and several years ago so who knows how it has changed since then. As for signing out, that I don't know. They may be more strict on that for liability reasons. Never hurts to ask though. I hope your boys love Camp at Sea. My daughter LOVED it as a kid (she loves the teen club now) and prefers Celebrity kids/teen programs over Royal Caribbean and Disney!
  10. I am the OP. I was talking about how your cruise only had 2 kids that were very young so it had me thinking it was during school and longer than 7 days. I was correct. I put the example of when my daughter was little (she is now 15, but I was showing when she was young and during school even then it had quite a few kids) sorry for the confusion. From my most recent experience with a teen ... the typical scenario for your upcoming Greece cruise is they will go to X Club the first night, meet the group of kids they want to hang with and then start hanging out in places all over the ship. Favorites include pool/sports area, OVC, game/library to play cards, and lounge (I believe Reflections on your ship.) Wishing you a great cruise with your grandkids on the Connie.
  11. Only 2 kids on a 90% full ship? Hmm... my guess is that would have to be during school season, and perhaps a longer cruise. Back when it was Fun Factory and my daughter was in Shipmates (age 3-5) we cruised for a week during the normal school year and there were at least 3 dozen kids in that group alone. During school holidays and summer Celebrity has a lot of kids. Granted, I don't think the numbers are as high as NCL, MSC, or RCCL - but definitely more than you experienced.
  12. You'd think, but she prefers X to RCCL and DCL. I think some of it as an only child, she is not going in with siblings (or cousins) on this cruise. The more family oriented ships (NCL, DCL, RCCL) especially at spring break have had the tendency to be extended families where the kids go into the kids area already with others they know. That can make it tricky. On X she has always found some friends without issue. The last cruise we did in June she still talks to 6 of them and went to a sweet 16 party in December (4 kids including her were from the same area and none related.)
  13. Ha! I was just posting when you posted that my biggest concern with Joy is how crowded it could feel outside of the Haven. Naturally, I am going to be spending time there, but I also want to venture around. They did utilize a lot of space for the go karts and gaming, which is worrisome. I know that pool area (which is a bizarre layout) is going to be IN-SANE. But when isn't it on Caribbean cruises?! 😉
  14. We have a teenage daughter with us, but her favorite is Celebrity over RCCL and Disney. I know!! 🤯 She has never sailed on NCL, she wasn't born when we did the Pride of America in 2007 (and like I said, I cannot compare that product ... wouldn't be fair.) Glad you have enjoyed both. I think my biggest worry is how crowded the Joy will feel. I loved the Oasis on Royal Caribbean, and that never felt crowded and it was a full ship - however, it is larger.
  15. Thank you for the info! Something I will definitely look into. 😃 What ship are you going on with X? Have a wonderful trip ... not hard you're on a cruise! 🛳️
  16. Appreciate your feedback. You’re making great points! 🙂 I didn’t mind an elevator and a few floors separation in lieu of a larger room. As long as it isn’t loud - and by the looks of location, we should be ok. I liked Roatan as I have never been there before. In reality, for myself, this trip is really more about the ship versus the destinations. Been to Caribbean before. About shows, I’ve heard they hold spots for Haven, is that correct? Do we have to do anything prior or just show up? As for my daughter, she has always found friends on Celebrity. Oddly enough, more than RCCL. All it usually takes is one trip to teen club on first night - god bless my grandma for passing on that extroverted gene because husband and I are introverts. 😉
  17. There was one left on the 14th floor that was 450-475 sq feet. Not a family size but larger than the others on higher floors.
  18. Higher end cruise line was what I mean. Misuse of wording. Sorry. I put NCL on par with RCCL. I think by the looks MSC would fall into that category too. I am not saying X is Regent, Azamara, Seabourn but I do think it is higher end than the ones listed above.
  19. There was a post on here about it not too long ago. I will see if I can find it.
  20. That is the one we did last summer on Equinox. All of us really enjoyed it. Out of curiosity, why is that your favorite? Food selections? Storyline? Both? I get that it may not be for some, but for us we all said we would do it again.
  21. I really enjoy Celebrity, but their price point is insane compared to NCL and MSC. I get that they are a more premiere ship and cannot expect the price to be the same. However, $4K more? No, no and NO! Can't justify that. I know Celebrity did have mysterious price slashes for the Retreat suites on Beyond, but it hasn't touched the date for the sailing I need. I held out hope with so many suites still left but we are at the 60 day point and that price tag hasn't budged. 😟
  22. If only one of us was a lobster fan. I KNOW! 🤯 The one shellfish all 3 of us can pass on. Now if it were crab legs ... 🤣 However, I figured with the Free at Sea I would do a couple of specialty dining places (albeit, I have to pay for my daughter.)
  23. Yeah, I would not like the madhouse feel. I worried about that when we sailed Oasis years ago, and to my shock it was not bad at all. However, Oasis is larger than Joy so the jam packed feeling could definitely be a con. I don't want to stay in Haven exclusively, I do like exploring. I am sure it will be a very full ship during peak spring break. It is odd how some Celebrity Butler's are phenomenal and others are just going through the motions. Our Solstice and Reflection butler was incredible! Equinox ... not so much.
